I don’t know what Packers offered him, but I would think a 8 million per year contract with GB for a few more years would have been the better choice than the 1 yr 7 million with Vikings. I doubt he would get anything better next season.

He didn't. That would require going to the Jets first. Aaron Rodgers will be a Viking next year though.
Favre had a clause in his contract that as an unrestricted free agent he could sign for any team EXCEPT the Minnesota Vikings! That's the only reason he didn't sign directly with the Vikings. Packers management knew that he wanted revenge against his former team, thus the specific clause. He retired after one season with the Jets, only to come out of retirement for a second time to ink a deal with Minnesota.@@itsRiske11
