Great to hear Rachel and James talking about their film. Thanks to everyone to brought the story to the screen. It's an excellent, largely joyful documentary and celebration of football. Wonderful, intelligent women sharing their unique experiences of the game when they were talented teenagers. So sad to hear of the FA life ban for the coach and team players. Anna

When I watch an interview in Argentinian TV, it was 2 Argentines who made the film. When I watch a US TV interview, it is 2 Americans who made the film. When I watch a British interview, it is 2 Britons who did it.....

In 2005 Wendy Owen an England Female Footballer from the early 1970s mentioned it in her auto biography (I found out about it, in the mid 90s)
She explained that The Woman's Football Association (1969 to 1993) knew of the forthcoming competition in Mexico but at that time England did not have a National Team (they could have easily organized one) so they said NO to a Great Opportunity for Female Football. Harry Batt (and his wife) would not let the opportunity for English Female Footballers evade them, so he organized an Unofficial English representative team to go and take part, as he believed in The Advancement of Female Football "What a Man!".
The Women's Football Association Banned him for Life from female football and Banned the girls for up to two years. The Women's Football Association was set up in 1969 to organize and Advance Female Football, yet they DiD The Opposite ... Shame On Them!.
