They do speed - sometimes... A dash cam video would show that. If they went to court showing the 'not speeding' part, the cops would ask for the whole un edited video.

@WC , you are right, but i think you mean high-end sports cars. Over the last 20 years, Ive lost count of how many "super cars" have crashed on that bridge as well as Cambie. Usually at about 3am on a sunday morning. Cars like these are pretty common place in Vancouver, they're often driven by newly licensed inexperienced drivers, who usually wreck them on the sea to sky hwy.
This is the third video i've seen on your channel. For a youtuber, maybe this is worth the hassle you are getting when you get pulled over for driving your sports cars, but for a regular guy who owns a sports car like this, I don't think it's worth their time. I live in Ottawa and used to work at the local courthouse. When police officers have to go to court they receive a premium on their pay (at least they used to) for court time. If they worked the night before and have to go to court the next morning it's overtime they get paid very well to sit there and wait for their turn to speak in court. Usually it's the cops word against the drivers word. Who do you think the judge will believe? At the end of the day this only encourages them to write false tickets. If the judge throws the ticket out in court the cop still made 300-400 more dollars for their next pay. Great system!!!

I see this is a joke, (might be different in Canada) But in the UK its also illegal to drive too slow on the road if it disrupts the flow of normal everyday traffic unless done so to be in compliance of the law. Willingly driving 30 in a 50 for no reason beyond your own choice is illegal and you can be pulled over for it. Sure the officers will more than likely just ask whats up, correct you on where you are going wrong and send you on your way but i'm sure there is a case where this has gone much further and someone has been ticketed for driving to slow.

Think the dash cam can be used as evidence against the officers, when in court i believe you can ask how the speed was recorded. And if they say speedometer you can request proof of the offence. The guys did right by complying with the officers, it would have made things worse by not complying with them. Just keep your cool with them. Suggestion is to ask if they have a dash can on their patrol units, and remember the burden of proof is on them not the other way around. It would not surprise me if all the vehicles now have a electronic flag agents them for speeding. In the UK that happens a lot and not just for that. I have been pulled over for a drug trafficking flag. I only had the vehicle for a few days and I have never been in trouble for any think like that. The previous owner had been pull for possession of drugs hence the drugs flag. The officer did say I should find better friends, I did inform the officer I dont have to be friends with someone to purchase their vehicle of them. The flag was removed after that.
David Guidolin it’s called math. Cop cars record the speed they’re travelling at, and by determining their own speed, they can use math to figure out the speed of the vehicle they’re following. It ain’t rocket science.

I've had a cop coming to me after court to apologize for wasting my time. In BC too. This was about 10 years ago and the cop was quite young. He didn't catch me in a radar and all he had was that when I passed him he thought I was over the speed limit and he had to put 100 to catch up with me... I had stopped before he got to me as I found the address I was looking for... he didn't even had the time to put his lights on.

What I don't understand is if you have a camera inside the car it would timestamp your speed if pointed at the speedometer of the car as in a live camera going all the time with a date stamp for the time exactly with the speed that's what I would do in those cars and they would never ever be able to give you a ticket

Cop said 60 over the speed limit, stating speed limit is 50. According to the Drivers Education manual you're by law allotted is usually 10-15 MPH under or over the speed limit depending on your municipality more or less. So what speeding infraction were they violating???
I guess they can estimate about the speed by holding a steady pace that follow the other vehicle where you dont come closer or further away from the other vehicle. Yet again though almost every spedometre put on about 5-10 km extra. Idk what that is in mph. Yet again though, doesnt these cops have a laser or whatever that can see the speed of the vehicle infront? We got that in norway.

I live in Ottawa and used to work at the local courthouse. When police officers have to go to court they receive a premium on their pay (at least they used to) for court time. If they worked the night before and have to go to court the next morning it's overtime they get paid very well to sit there and wait for their turn to speak in court. Usually it's the cops word against the drivers word. Who do you think the judge will believe? At the end of the day this only encourages them to write false tickets. If the judge throws the ticket out in court the cop still made 300-400 more dollars for their next pay. Great system!!!

I see this is a joke, (might be different in Canada) But in the UK its also illegal to drive too slow on the road if it disrupts the flow of normal everyday traffic unless done so to be in compliance of the law. Willingly driving 30 in a 50 for no reason beyond your own choice is illegal and you can be pulled over for it. Sure the officers will more than likely just ask whats up, correct you on where you are going wrong and send you on your way but i'm sure there is a case where this has gone much further and someone has been ticketed for driving to slow.

Think the dash cam can be used as evidence against the officers, when in court i believe you can ask how the speed was recorded. And if they say speedometer you can request proof of the offence. The guys did right by complying with the officers, it would have made things worse by not complying with them. Just keep your cool with them.
Suggestion is to ask if they have a dash can on their patrol units, and remember the burden of proof is on them not the other way around.
It would not surprise me if all the vehicles now have a electronic flag agents them for speeding.
In the UK that happens a lot and not just for that. I have been pulled over for a drug trafficking flag.
I only had the vehicle for a few days and I have never been in trouble for any think like that.
The previous owner had been pull for possession of drugs hence the drugs flag.
The officer did say I should find better friends, I did inform the officer I dont have to be friends with someone to purchase their vehicle of them.
The flag was removed after that.

I've had a cop coming to me after court to apologize for wasting my time. In BC too. This was about 10 years ago and the cop was quite young. He didn't catch me in a radar and all he had was that when I passed him he thought I was over the speed limit and he had to put 100 to catch up with me... I had stopped before he got to me as I found the address I was looking for... he didn't even had the time to put his lights on.
