What BALR is saying is that all of the cars on that road were going the speed limit or at the very least the same speed, these 5 cars weren't going faster than everybody else and couldn't have done even if they wanted to because traffic was so backed up. So why did the cops pull over only the 5 nice cars? Surely they should pull over the 1 person they saw going over the speed limit or everybody? not a selective group based on the value of their cars. The ticket will definitely be dismissed, its not illegal to go over the speed limit if you're following the speed of traffic (to an extent) which everyone on that road is doing

This is the third video i've seen on your channel. For a youtuber, maybe this is worth the hassle you are getting when you get pulled over for driving your sports cars, but for a regular guy who owns a sports car like this, I don't think it's worth their time. Oh that's right they aren't any. When you have hundreds of videos of you breaking the law and excessively speeding and racing all the time, it's pretty hard to defend yourself in court and argue that you were not. I'm willing to bet there's security camera, traffic camera and other footage from other drivers showing they were speeding and they know it. This content makes money and they will just pay the tickets or whatever their attorney works out and you will never hear about it again.
When cops write tickets without proof and simply say to contest it in court, it wastes taxpayers money, clogs up the court system, as well as wastes their own time from dealing with real crimes. Officers who have this attitude need to be educated and or disciplined as it does not serve our country well.

@WC , you are right, but i think you mean high-end sports cars. Over the last 20 years, Ive lost count of how many "super cars" have crashed on that bridge as well as Cambie. Usually at about 3am on a sunday morning. Cars like these are pretty common place in Vancouver, they're often driven by newly licensed inexperienced drivers, who usually wreck them on the sea to sky hwy.

I guess they can estimate about the speed by holding a steady pace that follow the other vehicle where you dont come closer or further away from the other vehicle. Yet again though almost every spedometre put on about 5-10 km extra. Idk what that is in mph. Yet again though, doesnt these cops have a laser or whatever that can see the speed of the vehicle infront? We got that in norway.
You need dash cams with GPS, no disputing that.

They do speed - sometimes... A dash cam video would show that. If they went to court showing the 'not speeding' part, the cops would ask for the whole un edited video.

Yes, I doubt they will bother showing up as their evidence was very circumstantial at best. But you still need to go to court twice. First to plead non guilty, and then wait a year for your actual court date.

the officers paced them at actually 101 miles per hour not 100 I used my monocular- it helps to magnify small pictures at a far distance to become a larger image or larger view i actually saw all of their speedometers.
The cop that dealt with Dave was one of the nicest cops ive seen. I dont think that cop agreed with it. Just had to play the part cause of his boys that wanted to make a scene.

You don't want to be harassed by your colleagues because you don't act like them and oppose them (they do that to drivers, they can do worse to you). You don't want to be forced to quit your job because after a while the harassement is too much psychologically. No one will support you. Legally they must show you both and the radar is supposed to be calibrated BEFORE EVERY SHIFT
I live in Ottawa and used to work at the local courthouse. When police officers have to go to court they receive a premium on their pay (at least they used to) for court time. If they worked the night before and have to go to court the next morning it's overtime they get paid very well to sit there and wait for their turn to speak in court. Usually it's the cops word against the drivers word. Who do you think the judge will believe? At the end of the day this only encourages them to write false tickets. If the judge throws the ticket out in court the cop still made 300-400 more dollars for their next pay. Great system!!!

I see this is a joke, (might be different in Canada) But in the UK its also illegal to drive too slow on the road if it disrupts the flow of normal everyday traffic unless done so to be in compliance of the law. Willingly driving 30 in a 50 for no reason beyond your own choice is illegal and you can be pulled over for it. Sure the officers will more than likely just ask whats up, correct you on where you are going wrong and send you on your way but i'm sure there is a case where this has gone much further and someone has been ticketed for driving to slow.

I ride a motorcycle, it's the SAME thing. I used to live in Massachusetts and one year the 17 year cicada cycle came around. The air was full of hardshelled flying bugs, so I was riding in a tuck to stay under my windscreen.
I got pulled over for speeding, which I was not, and the says "You were in a full race tuck!!"
I had to explain that when a big bug hits the vent on a full face helmet, the bug explodes and you get a fine mist of bug insides right in the face. I've also been hit with cigarette ash but that's a story for another time.
But getting bug spray in your eye stings like mother, and it's dangerous when your operating a vehicle.

Think the dash cam can be used as evidence against the officers, when in court i believe you can ask how the speed was recorded. And if they say speedometer you can request proof of the offence. The guys did right by complying with the officers, it would have made things worse by not complying with them. Just keep your cool with them.
Suggestion is to ask if they have a dash can on their patrol units, and remember the burden of proof is on them not the other way around.
It would not surprise me if all the vehicles now have a electronic flag agents them for speeding.
In the UK that happens a lot and not just for that. I have been pulled over for a drug trafficking flag.
I only had the vehicle for a few days and I have never been in trouble for any think like that.
The previous owner had been pull for possession of drugs hence the drugs flag.
The officer did say I should find better friends, I did inform the officer I dont have to be friends with someone to purchase their vehicle of them.
The flag was removed after that.

I've had a cop coming to me after court to apologize for wasting my time. In BC too. This was about 10 years ago and the cop was quite young. He didn't catch me in a radar and all he had was that when I passed him he thought I was over the speed limit and he had to put 100 to catch up with me... I had stopped before he got to me as I found the address I was looking for... he didn't even had the time to put his lights on.
