      100 percent. He made the 3pt shot the most valuable shot in the league. He also made teams change their entire offensive and defensive systems. Curry has done more to change the actual NBA and college more then Lebron.

      You don't know why Lebron is influential? He is one of the biggest athletes in the world and gets involved in a lot of social issues. He is the face of the current generation in terms of player movement and taking their career into their own hand. Even Jordan was not able to have that sort of freedom.
      Also he came in an era where everyone wanted to be MJ, so a lot of guards and wings were playing some of the most inefficient ball of all-time lol. He brought back efficiency to the game with his approach, also making the right basketball plays. That's why he is such an analytics darling.

Steph showed the NBA that the 3-pt shot could be the most dangerous weapon in the game, and teams and players started realizing this. Curry was one of the reasons why the traditional bigs like Aldridge, Howard, etc. became redundant because if your a traditional big your useless in the league your slow and can’t defend the tree and since people see the value of shooting threes instead of twos the post has been used less and less. Curry in my opinion is one of the reasons why people like Jokic and Karl Anthony towns are becoming the new big men because they can hit threes and they still have some post moves.

    • @treyjones4020
      @treyjones4020 6 лет назад

      The art of competition so, he shoots and makes more than anyone else. That is an individual achievement. The only thing that shooting from 35 feet away from the basket is going to influence is other players getting benched because they won't make them from that distance. Colin got people believing that Steph Curry is small, slow, and weak. That is far from the truth, the guy is 6-3 and dead lifts 400lbs. I took a look at the graph which showed a gradual increase in 3 point attempts from 1979 to 2018, there is a slight spike during the Larry Bird years but from there there is just a gradual increase.

    • @theartofcompetition5965
      @theartofcompetition5965 6 лет назад

      just because you dont like YOUR perceived result of his influence. doesnt mean he doesnt have a big influence. any star obviously has a big influence. so to say im delusional to say a star player has a big influence hurts your credibility and your argument. so i cant really talk hoops with you if your going to go to such extreme ridiculous opinions.

    • @treyjones4020
      @treyjones4020 6 лет назад

      The art of competition I like the guy, he is a great shooter, but, he is an anomaly. I also think that the ESPN and FOX has an agenda. I remember when Colin said that Kevin Durant is going to be a bust because he could not bench press 185. He also said that Steph Curry is making 7 footers obsolete but 5 out of the ten guys picked in the draft were at least 6-10. The guy is entertaining but his research is incompetent.

    Steph Curry is the 2nd best player behind lebron. Why? Because when measuring players it's all about IMPACT. Curry and Lebron are in a class of their own in terms of impact on a game. I get KD is more skilled than curry, but if we are purely talking skill, KD is top 5 all time. We measure players by impact not purely by skill and people need to get that. Also, the most important skill in basketball is shooting, curry is the greatest shooter ever, and if you're the best ever at the most important skill, you're not just an all timer, but one of the elite all timers.

    1) Michael Jordan
    2) Shaquille O'Neal
    3) Stephen Curry
    4) Magic Johnson
    5) Allen Iverson
    AND HERE'S WHY --
    Michael is the goat. Not much needed to say..
    Shaquille O'Neal was the reason everyone wanted the next 'once in a generation' center.
    Shaquille O'Neal is the reason big men were so sought after, Shaq is the reason GREG ODEN was drafted ahead of Kevin Durant.
    Curry is pulling a 'Shaq' here... but Shaq finished his career and Curry's effect is still young. Watch Curry skip Shaq if this trend goes another decade.
    *MAGIC* is next. Now, we would have LEBRON here because he's the most recent big guy with passing skills and ridiculous basketball IQ and awareness, but Magic Did it 1st. LeBron carried the legacy into today's game, we also have big bodies out here trying to control the offense the way Ben Simmons, Giannis, and many more have tried.
    LeBron's a big reason, but it all began with MAGIC.
    Next is A.I. look at everyone out here trying to look like him, carry that swagger like A.I.
    Basketball is evolving.

      Wait so you're saying that won't Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Hakeem Olajuwan and all those dominant centers before weren't as influential as Shaq?

      I was thinking of two things after posting, 1) Shaquille O'Neal wasnt the first, but he was the most dominant in a modern era. And did it his way, another influential man is Kobe Bryant. When your friend at the office shoots paper and says 'KOBE' it only shows how world wide Bryant has been.

    Nailed it, Iverson most definitely needs to be in this list, would also put Ginobili over in the list. Eurostep became a "thing" because of him. May not have invented it, but it became popular because of him.

    Steph's influence on the game is a lot like a broken marriage.

    Lots of people can shoot three’s. Not many can shoot threes anywhere with 2-3 people trying to guard them
