Pound for pound insects contain more protein than beef or fish. Fried wasp is the perfect healthy fried snack.
agreed
Fried sure but I would pass on the drink.
The one in the drink looked like an Asian Giant Hornet.
Winner Htoo I hope you remove the stinger first lol
@Winner Htoo good protein , I am from the US and people usually think its weird to eat bugs here but they tend to forget you can cook bugs and grubs and don't have to eat it alive or raw .
Winner Htoo But when hornets are dead their stinger can still sting you.
@@RoanRants That's only for a brief period after they die, depending on how they're killed. If you deep fry them, the heat completely destroys the nerve structures that allow them to sting after they die. It also breaks down and neutralizes any venom left in the insect, and softens the stinger itself so that it becomes flexible and unable to pierce anything.
Andrew Sinclair Interesting
At the end he just ate raw full-grown wasp
This is the toughest caucasian dude I've ever seen
Interesting. The woman spoke Mandarin, though. I'm quite sure it was obvious that you don't swallow the giant wasp in the wine
The Shan State borders China so they have a very large Mandarin demographic.
The fried wasps and larvae actually look pretty good. That crunch though. Can imagine snacking on this instead of chips 😂
buggin
Dang only 1 comment
very crispy food in China
thumb up for the reporter :)
angry customer: waiter theres a wasp in my food
chef: the wasps are you food
angry customer: we nerver eat here again
me: *tries some since he also ate an cricket infused in a lolipop*
I wish we had this kind of reporting here in the states so Americans could get a taste of other cultures beyond our borders. Keep up the good work.
bbc is even worse than the american media outlets lmfao
Wasn’t supposed to eat the wasp just drink the wine 😂 priceless
Dionysus
I have tried the edible bugs I eaten black ants crickets and scorpions and tarantula they all tasted pretty good. But a wasp im not eating that
LOL! He looked so uncomfortable eating that!!
not only that we dont drink the wasp in the liquor, but we dont drink rice liquor like it was beer either.
Wasps look so creepy just buzzing and flying
Its the best, taste good and rich in nutrients.👍👍
As a spheksophobic (fear of wasps) this would be a nightmare for me, I wouldn’t eat it even if I was dying or if you paid me. 🤢🤮😨
I don't like giant Hornets either but now they've been found one state over from me in Washington. If they successfully spread over to me I'm going to start eating them out of shear hatred.
I have the same fear but I would try to eat one , eating them is payback in my eyes ( I don't fear Bees and mud dubbers just because they are chill).
Im allergic
It's the most expensive food item in Nagaland..
Same!
What about the STINGERRRR??
Heat from the cooking process softens the stinger so it can't pierce anything, and neutralizes the venom.
@@andrewsinclair7159 Plus, iirc, the stinger is serrated like a saw, and has to go back and forth in order to land a sting effectively...
I would try this, looks like it might taste good.
Maybe taco seasoning would make it taste good too.
Weirdo
"Taco seasoning" so what salsa?😂
RIP the reporter accidentally drank the wasp
Not eating bugs five years ago. Still not eating the bugs.
Hornet larvae is one of the tastiest things I've ever eaten in my life I swear
Pure protien
his eyes widening at the end 😂😂😂
What about the stinger and the venom? Are they removed before cooking?
Crispy fried critter soup is my recommendation folks 😉
I’ve never seen something look so scrumptious and nasty in one setting.
2:04 footnote wahahahahh...
"hahaha I'm in danger :D"
Hell yeah, so long as I didn't get stung. (They can still sting when dead, but maybe the heat neutralizes the stinger? 🤔🤔🤔)
The venom and stinger are neutralized in the cooking process.
But what about the stingers? Are they not harder than the rest of the body?
The taste is amazing
Did they remove the stingers?
Fried wasp larvae is very tasty. I myself haven't tasted it though.
That drink looked very intimidating.
These wasp are the costliest thing here
Those Wa people were speaking Southwestern Mandarin, instead of their mother tongue Va. This is like when some Mongolian was interviewed by Chinese reporters they spoke English instead of their mother tongue Mongolian. Both made the wrong assumption that if they spoke a "more international" language people coming from a different country would "naturally" understand them.
Why is it that only Asians do this kinda stuff.
lik everytiem because we are not picky and we need to survive.
the lady cooking the wasps was speaking mandarin
YOU VILL EAT ZE BUGS
NOPE!
HOPE!
You try the infant one it is amazing you would not even like to quit it

For the sake of symmetry I like to think they sell cough mixture in corked bottles.
I have a phobia of wasps and this has just made me absolutely cringe and I have no idea why I watched. I would freak out if I was there with them in front of me like that. 🤢🤢🤢

So sad your work. I wouldn't do it for a million dollars
Elhy Oviedo yeah you people from the 1st world wouldnt dare to eat food from us living in the third world
@@killingfields6599Japan is a 1st world country and they eat bugs ( like most people in the world) , the west is weird when it comes with bugs I am afraid of them ( mostly hornets and wasp because they can fly and sting , bees and mud dubbers are chill tho) but we forget it is a good source of protein .
I don't think you were supposed to drink the wasp. lol.
Science, hurry up with that lab meat, for the love of God.
I WANT SOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ouh oh 😳

Gentlemen, wasps improve male ability potential!
Keep telling yourself that. It won't make that 2 incher any bigger.
@@gorgefood9867 No, it will keep it straight for a longer period of time. Big difference. No pun intended
He wasn’t supposed to drink the wasp right 💀
Yes
I've paid for a lot worse than that.. Manchester city centre at 03:00hrs.... If it looks like a kebab, it probably is a kebab, right? lol
Never everr, dude.
Wasp is good
I read that native Americans ate simular. I know owls love eating them. But I ask. Do they have poison from the stingers? Would my throat swell shut if I tried to eat wasp/yellow jacket larvae? 🍯🧐🙄
Come on yo......
Not as bad when Bear Grylls at the large grub 🤢
I got wasp today in my cooked vegetables
dude ate the least tastiest one. a full grown doesnt taste that good as compared to the larva.
It's like mai cro ni
Mmmm looks nice!
I'd love to try it 💓
YES EAT UP!!!!!!!!!!!YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!EAT!
Easy on the rice wine, it'll get you real drunk ..
In my country, we even eat them raw. Personally, I prefer them raw than fried.
What about the stinger, won't it be threatening to eat it with the poison sack?
@@greenbirdstar
I mean the larvae of course, not the adult.
😅
Oh but when adults are cooked they get their stinger removed then?
@@greenbirdstar
Ok.
Was the woman speaking Mandarin?
I think I’m actually going to be sick 🤢
China need to stop eating all this weird shit. Look at the mess they’ve already caused with Covid
Haruspex exactly 🙌🏻🙌🏻
@@haruspex1-50 YEAH
@@haruspex1-50 this is in Myanmar
it's not wasp it's obvious a size of giant asian hornet
A hornet is a type of wasp.
They're basically wasps on steroids, and 10X more aggressive.
The lady speaks Chinese 😂
What the fuck
Yeah no thanks...
They're in Myanmar yet they speak chinese?
Border of Myanmar are just a bridge across from China Sichuan province. Most people living at the borders can speak several native dialect.
Maybe they're Sino-Tibetan linguistic family.
why is the video quality so poor?
looked cristal clear to me. were your glasses steamed up?
it gets shit when the camera pans
Camera made in China.
Dudemar is not that poor..

THAT IS DISGUSTING!!!
That far greater better rather than rat, mouse, snake, lizard or even civet, otter, fox, cat and dog.
lol
Eww bugs
This is in China, not in Myanmar.
I also wondered that. The language the woman spoke sounded like Chinese. Are there Chinese speaking minorities in that part of Myanmar?
There may well be - the female cook is ethnically Chinese and speaking standard Mandarin. The decorations in the background contain popular (Chinese) Buddhist symbols as well as simplified Chinese (Hanzi) characters.
the video was flimed at the border of myanmar to southwest China, where is dominated by Chinese.
@@stevenskds She doesn't really look ethnically Han though if that's what you mean? She's speaking Mandarin but with a clear accent, probably Southwestern Mandarin influenced by Wa. I think it's more that there are more interactions with Chinese people there, so they learn and use Mandarin rather than local languages so outside people like reporters are more likely to understand them?
I want to die ;-;
welcome to Chinese travel. Chinese guilin welcome you. very sorry. i can speak English isn't well. no teacher teach my English. you want to go try eating Chinese food.
Yummy
That shit is gross son
Disgusting
