- Canada was lucky enough to get the second Cyberverse mini-movie early! So, I thought, why wait? Here is my review of the second and final chapter of Cyberverse season 4, "The Perfect Decepticon"!
Although, I highly suggest you watch this special for yourself first! Save this video to your watch later list if you need to. Then come back one you have seen it for yourself!

I like how there's some symmetry between Soundwave and Tarn, considering that while Tarn's mask was based on the decepticon symbol, Soundwave's face was the basis for the decepticon symbol.
Yeah I noticed that too.
Tarn may wear the Decepticon insignia, but Soundwave IS the insignia.
Like how optimus prime wear the autobot insignia but VECTOR PRIME is the igsignia

Weeelll... cybeverse Soundwave is technically the 2nd Soundwave to do this. The first one was IDWG1 Soundwave who used the enigma Of combination to access the afterlife to boost optimus primes power to reach out to unicron. I think. There's not that many Soundwave deaths that ended in a good outcome besides cybeverse and idw.
True, But i think it Fits this version, since it has become a real sacrifice to me at least since he has come full circle from Being a main villain, to the ultimate Hero, But i haven't read the idw books and Prefer this Soundwave
So far cyberverse has gone through almost everything in the transformers mythos check list
- civil war
- pre-war life
- search for the all spark
- reviving cybertron
- a cosmically powered starscream
- Spotlight off-world adventures
- name dropping/meeting one of the 13 primes
- life in one of the colonies
- discovering/using ancient relics
- optimus prime dying
- megatron getting a power boost
- megatron becoming galvatron (Optional)
- meeting cybertronians who didn't know there was a war going on (also Optional)
- fighting the quintesons
- finding/fighting lost titans
- facing multiversal threats
All that's left on the list is Unicron aparently? Personally I'd like more spotlight adventures or life on the other colonies.
IIRC the creators chose to not do another Unicron plot considering how many TF shows did them.

"Megatron X briefly appears in the film. After recovering from his injuries, Megatron X ordered the Perfect Decepticons wipe out all Cybertronian life that has their free will in every universe there is in existence. However, his Perfect Decepticons now view him as a failure, karmatically killing him. Tarn then takes command of them to fulfill Megatron X's wishes."

Wow, I was never expecting seeing Soundwave becoming a hero and getting a heroic death, but this, this was just so sad, so heroic, so good from him. This is even more sad than Beast Wars episode "Code of Hero" but we will never forget him for what he did. 😢🤍❤️

If I had a Nickle for every time Soundwave died a hero. I'd have 2 nickles which isn't much but I'm suprised it only happened twice. Granted cyberverse does takes cues from IDW-G1(2005).
My favorite decepticon is gone. He lived a warrior, and died a Hero, may his spark join the matrix, the greatest of cybertron.
Yes I know this is from Dinobots death, but it works for Soundwave.

I'll miss cyberverse a lot. This show was amazing from the designs to the story and everything. It was just amazing. Boulder media made my two favourite Tf shows cyberverse and rba. I hope hasbro gets them on future show they make such amazing shows

I love the recent treatment of soundwave as the physical embodiment of the original decepticon CAUSE
I like how the rest of Tarns were actually freed from their obedience programm and became a part Cybertron community.

I have heard many times before that the crew behind Cyberverse don't want to do a story with Unicron because of how repetitive it's become. I think what Astrotrain is talking about could be Galvatron, or Nemesis Prime. Tornedron maybe? Or who knows? Maybe an entirely new villain.

@@novustalks7525 Yeah it's been stated a few times before. Not just for cyberverse but it appears for Transformers in general. I think it is true that Unicron is overused, but only because they use him for one thing really. I think it'd be cool to see a series about the 13 primes and have Unicron be the main villain in that rather than just the ultimate evil all the time.

Anyone else notice how similar soundwaves sacrifice is to Starscreams was in Armada? he ejected his mini con then made a last stitch effort to save everyone. Soundwave Ejected laser beak, to almost win, then in his last moments he pulled a last stitch effort to save everyone, only difference is in cyberverse he actually did it.
Let's take the two of them and post the Predacon movie Megatron and then go find a bunch of other Decepticons who have decided to get redeemed I just put them all on one world

@@EcliipseYT well there's Earth spark Megatron who's actually more redeemed than Transformers Prime Megatron who I mentioned and really just lost the stomach to be evil after being tormented by Unicron

Seriously, I mean come on just someone saying he's a new leader is enough to get the cons to go against the autobots who they actually bonded with in the last movie. The decepticons should be a lot better than that. Glad they stood up in the end though

I finally got to see my boy Soundwave get a heroic ending. Cyberverse Soundwave might actually be tied with TFP Soundwave as my favorite.

more like a form shifter, which is either altering one alt mode to act like a different one ie james bond's car's submarine mode or taking parts from one alt mode and make a new one from that but not a completely new one ie bayverse drift's helicopter form

Soundwave truly deserved to be the hero of this show. He was great in his small moments and even better in his time in the spotlight. He was always my favorite Decepticon and if he had to go, I couldn't think of a better end for this incarnation than saving his people.
It is fitting, considering how Out-of-universe and sometimes even in-universe, the Decepticon emblem was based on Soundwave, and Tarn's thing in his few appearances is that he slaps a Decepticon logo on his face to show that he's the perfect Decepticon.
The decepticons immediately turning on the bots reminds me of order 66 in star wars
Its true, just like what happened to Drift/Deadlock, he turn against Hot rod, bumblebee and cheetor during battle of cybertron in first order 66. some decepticons turn against autobots is called second Order 66, it feel like at the end of 19 BBY.

I just noticed all of the rifles held by the "perfect decepticons" are modeled after vos in his rifle mode from the IDW comics.
I can think of 4 Number 1 Unicron Number 2 Megatron‘s evolution Galvatron Number 3 Megatronus and finally number 4 Starscream!

Could Soundwave's sacrifice in this explain why Lazerbeak was alone in Transformers Rescue Bots Academy? I know this is released well after More Than Meets The Eye (RBA) but it could explain a little.

With out a question of a doubt, Soundwave is my favorite Decepticon, it not only hurt to see him sacrifice himself but also to see the pain in lazarbeck, I couldn’t help but remember when tarn killed ravage and soundwave still felt the pain Half way across the galaxy.

Thunderhowl gives me massive Silverbolt vibes.
Especially in the way he talks.
And his overall personality.
I thought this would have been like Justice League Dark where multiple characters would get killed. Even if they where minor background characters.
If they wanted to continue Cyberverse with any more specials, maybe the plot could revolve around Starscream's ghost making an alliance with Unicron, becoming his herald only to betray him in the climax.
Remember, if a cartoon character says something is "only a legend", it's 100% confirmed to exist.
Soundwaves death really got me sad, he was one of my favorite cyberverse characters, sad to see him go but, yeah he had a great character arc
I watched Cyberverse all over again! I think it’s cool they had the idea of Bees memory loss from the Bumblebee movie. It would of been cool if the Decepticons had gotten to Bee first and had him join them before Windblade found him. That would of been interesting!
Personally I thought that this special was a really nice way to end off cyberverse and I am really going to miss it while yeah sure it wasn't perfect it did start off abit rocky with the first season but the later seasons were definitely a huge improvement and you can tell that the people behind the series had loads of fun making it and i really respect them for that and given the recent transformers stuff we've been given cyberverse is definitely one of the better transformers shows we've been given in recent years while I'm not recommending it for everyone if your expecting to see a transformers show with a deep story and emotionally driven characters your really not gonna find it with cyberverse but if your coming into see a transformers show that just wants to have fun then you'll enjoy it while personally I wouldn't say it was one of my favourite transformers shows I will say that it is a transformers show that I really enjoyed watching and made me really happy

This is one of the series that I think has done great justice to all of the side characters and my personal favourite, Soundwave. Everyone had gotten their fair share of screen time and the main focus of the show wasn't just Optimus prime and Megatron for the 78th time. Everyone who had their unique design got their own story, rivalries and interests. Although I do think that the people in charge of the models and animation got a little too lazy with the death of soundwave. He should've had his body completely damaged laying on the ground and in the end even had some kind of statue. Either way, it was great to see all of this focus upon him. It's a first time for our soundwave!
I forgot to mentioned it, but the Writers seems to use some new Animation to this Movies.

watching this when the special finally,FINALLY airs on youtube! and i absolutely love both the special and the review!!! though one gripe i have with the special is that there seems to be frames missing from the characters's movements in a few shots,with some jank more noticable than the other

I was kinda hoping for some Transformers Legacy refrence or easter egg, like Unicron showing up at the end, but nevertheless movie was great.
There’s totally a Tarn voyager class figure coming in the Legacy Evolution line, Decepticon mask and all.
Not cyberverse tho, he’s definitely the one from the comics.

@@cyberextreme86 What if Laserbeak was going somewhere with Shadow Striker, but because of some situation, they had to split, and Laserbeak went in shut down mode to find help, but his injury on his wing also was somehow connected to his processor, so he lost some memories except he was a Decepticon. Remember as well that Perceptor (RBA) said that Laserbeak had no criminal charges on him, making him a free bot. The only way Laserbeak could be free from crime is because all Decepticons in Cyberverse were forgiven. (In other words, possibly 2 Laserbeaks in the same universe).

Soundwave's death is right there with Armada Starscream's and that of Optimus in TFP, badass way to die.
To answer your Whirl question I remember on ChrisMcFeely's Whirl video that he mentions there's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot of a picture of the two Whirl's together. Showing that they know each other at the very least.
