There's more talent in this video than an entire day's playlist on mainstream radio.
They should form a group called The High Sierras.
Sublime idea.
The sierra missed.
At least one of them is high.
@@levelwitme I was thinking that, LOL
Both very pretty too
What an incredible moment in music. Two incredible Sierras. This is what blue grass and live music is all about.
I an aging English punk who over the past few years has been viewing blue grass videos, the spontaneity of performances like this equals the excitement of the punk gigs back in the late 70s. Just wonderful.
You Johnny rotten?
Oh my that was awesome. Can you imagine how great they'd be together if they had time to practice and stuff. Everyone in both bands are having a blast and that's what its all about. Love it
Loved that, they were having so much fun. I've been following SF for nearly a year and half, saw her twice in England. SH looks like another fantastic talent from what i've seen. Thanks Sierras.
Sierra Hull plays great -- unfortunately it's a bit lost here. The mike is too high, or sound not so good.
Sierra Hull is a straight up prodigious on the mandolin. For her age she's well beyond her years, it's amazing. Sierra Ferrell seems more into her whole schtick than her guitar IMO...not a huge fan, but I can see how people would find her fascinating in her own way.
@@jameypulsifer9265 ach ... Ferrell has a wonderful voice. Personally I like her most when she's doing rootsy old-time sort of music. Many fine examples here on YT.
Oh this is going to be awesome, I just know it. I do know one thing, Sierra Hull plays the hell out of a mandolin.
This feels like the longest I’ve ever waited for a video….. turned notifications on days ago. Now just 26 min left!!🍾🍾🍾
The only way this could be better is if Dolly Parton herself stepped out of the wings for the final chorus!!!!! AWESOME> I'm in tears over the beauty
Dear lord have mercy I'd never recover from such a thing.
And Jack White
The full spectrum right there. Not A to Z, rather, Sierra to Sierra. Absolutely beautiful, loved it! Thanks for posting.
Beautiful music from the hearts of real people.....thank you so much!
Love it!
Whoa. Smokin! Thank you.
I need 400x more Sierra harmonies in my monitor plz
Sierra and Sierra! This is like a "Bluegrass Wet Dream!"😁
Was there, awesome!!
I could listen to this all day
It would be terrifying to have to follow Sierra Hull on a mandolin break!
Michigan boy‘s know how to!!!
@@lawrencehaw8780 Lotsa talent comes from Michigan, fer sure!
Thank you sir for the less than face price. Keep em coming!
Our pleasure!
The two Sierras.....I've been waiting for this to happen....it was inevitable... This performance definitely looked like it was on the fly, but with some practice, and better miking, those two would be awesome together. Also, "Jolene" would be a nice, and fitting, addition to SF's repertoire.... Of course, they coulda changed it up a bit and changed it to "Josey"🙂
Loved that " all the way from Ireland 🌹🌹❤️ ☺️😊
Two of the most talented Sierras I know.
Las dos Sierras!
Digging them strings ✌❤
I have been waiting for this day. I am a super big fan of both. Only thing to make it better would be to add Molly Tuttle. Just imagine them and Ferrell's fiddle player. I think it needs to happen.
Josie Toney is the boss of fiddle
Need a Sierra Hull and Sierra Ferrell album now
For those of us who have been following Sierra for a few years now, well, we're gonna just have to learn to share...because those days of her as an obscure, priceless treasure all to ourselves are over and done...not that anyone had any doubt those days of small clubs and venues were numbered and her future would be enormous. Glad I got three shows in, at least, before the Billy Strings fanbase got on board.
Her second album will automatically win a Grammy because the entire industry is embarrassed they missed giving Long Time Coming it's due.
Billy Strings was in the same position 4 years ago….when i first saw him/band at a FREE local festival…. There are way too many other great young artists out there (Sierra Hull has been at it at least as long as SF) who will always be obscure to the masses and never get the recognition they deserve…. I’m glad these two Sierras got it together (it was inevitable)…..because at this point, SH is still relatively unknown outside the Roots Music world…..maybe this video (and more collabs….which will likely/hopefully happen) will give her a boost like Billy Strings did to SF… So, i would say stop lamenting about how SF won’t be obscure anymore….it is what it is…. She’s finally getting the recognition she deserves….
@@CorneiliusLibowitz I believe your point is in line with what I posted...SF's popularity and exposure were/are inevitable because of her clock-stopping talent. I would make this differentiation between SH/BS and Sierra Ferrell: Billy Strings and Sierra Hull are principally excellent, talented musicians more than they are known for their songwriting...and BS smartly connected with the Dead/Phish/Jam scene which fits his energy and prowess perfectly. Sierra Ferrell, along with a voice and mojo that are extraordinary, is a beautifully powerful and inspired songwriter...that skill can take her a long, long way...not to mention her limitless opportunity to duet and cover as Emmylou has done. Yes, there is an exciting bunch of young talent in Nashville, and it is spectacular to see them get their due. Fun stuff.
@@bradleydewey9083 Agree with your points regarding BS, except, while he's known for his guitar playing and chutzpah on stage, he's also known as a very talented songwriter... I think your average Joe just sees the incredible guitar skills.... But the more sophisticated can see thru all that and understand the songwriting is deep and compelling..... This is getting off on a tangent a bit, but i believe BS would not be where he is today without the band.... If he was purely solo, or had a revolving door of musicians coming in/out of the band, i doubt he'd be opening for Metallica at Lolla, or selling out shows like crazy.... The band is tight as a drum (pun intended) and the chemistry appears to be off the charts, not to mention all members are at the top of their game.... For the same reason, i'd like to see the current lineup of MT and Golden Highway stick together for a long time.... When it comes down to it, it's a team effort..........
PS--i didn't think this performance was all that great.... it was obviously on the fly, and they weren't miked properly (heck, both of them couldn't even reach the mike!).....plus, you couldn't hear SH's mando.... But with a little practice/rehearsing together, i think these two could make magic... They're both playing another festival in the near future....hopefully they'll do it again and we get a better performance AND video....
expect IMO Long Time Coming was a pure over produced travesty compared to her other album and live sound up to this point, even right now 2022 her live sound is 10x better than long time coming, i just hope her second album will more capture the music she plays instead of trying to force herself into a over produced country cookie cutter.
@@BrandonPrive1432 First time I heard LTC through, I was also startled by how the producers wrecked her songs with all the over-the-top mixes/arrangements...especially as all of my experience was listening to her play live either alone or with her small string bands (or her few earlier recordings on zero budget). Now I treat LTC in the way she dresses up; trying to push the arrangements in unusual, daring, even throwback-rhinestone ways to get a little extra notice and have some fun. So, the arrangements grew on me, but I agree with you, I like the live versions best. Even produced in a way that may have startled and chin-scratched fans, the songwriting, breadth of style, and vocals of LTC hands down were more interesting and creative than almost anything else produced that year.
well that was fun!
Awesome :)
Yes Ma'am the 2 Sierra's!!!!
I can't wait! Two of the best in Nashville!
They were having so much fun, it sounded great and made me want to get up and dance!
Exactly perfect pich from ferrell
ty davy crokett west virgina
Great music, not that far from here. Wish that I had been there. They do sound great together. Ms. Hull is a great picker too.
Hopefully coming soon on album...."The High Sierra's"
Rounder Style!!!!
I can only imagine Prine's Paradise, followed by Earle's, The Mountain and finishing with 6oolbs. of Sin;s 29.
What a great mess! A fan of both. Took a while to devolve into the jam party that it had to be.
Jam Parties are what create Canned Preserves my friend!!!!
Dang I was asleep in my tent !
Holler time
Great to see these wonderful young people playing such great music from the Heart ❤️ 👍🏻🌞, Unlike the Mainstream grammy crap 💩🤦♂️
Young women singing the most non-feminist-song. Both of you are real. Everybody loves you!
too bad the sound isn't coming through enough in the early part of this video on Sierra Hull's mandolin and vocals - I can tell they are great anyway and the last half of the video IS great.
Geoff and the Sierras :)
Ok then ! That has to be THE hottest hot mess I have ever witnessed!!!!
Sooooo many things wrong with that performance but Jeez it feels sooooo right ! ❤️❤️❤️
Two sierras
All children matter. All kids count
While you're at it, look up Leslie Stevens and the Badgers. song Old Timers
Dionysus has entered the chat.
Sounded like they were going to play the Doobie Brothers without love
Vote it's a right of responsibility
The whole time I just wanted to reach up on stage and reposition both the vocal and instrument mics in front of both Sierras
Ferrell is drunk. That's fun. This video is rad.
This was a surprise sit in at a late night set at a camping festival. Everyone was feelin mighty fine.
@@LessThanFaceProductions1 Also, thanks for posting this.
And not a drop of alcohol was spilled
Its PunkGrass
The booze is strong there.
Sometimes Magic just happens
Think this was one of those moments
Just saying…….
Seriously off pitch.
Agreed. But with a little practice............................
It was an impromptu late night jam...
terrible
Two very talented individuals playing a terrible set together.
Read downthread....It appears to be an unrehearsed, spontaneous jam session... Have them practice together a little and i'm quite sure it'd be epic.... Hopefully a real collab will come soon...
Hey! That’s my @gillanderguitars guitar!
