I was in attendance standing down low. The energy was electric. This was a sizeable chunk of real estate to preform to. Standing O. On her way off stage she took time to talk with a 5 year old girl with pen in hand who wanted an autograph. Thought I would mention. It was very sweet.
Kris got it down right. I saw Janis Joplin sing this in 1969 at Winterland in San Francisco. Sierra gave great credit to both artists. Beautiful, moving performance. Thanks Sierra.
Kris wrote this song. Yes, he got it write 😂. Sierra is a great performer, too. I prefer her renditions of traditional mountain music, but it is nice that she brings this song to life for a new generation
She's writing this book her own way. She's talented, courageous and relentless. And cannot be defined. Lord please look after her so we'll have her a long, long time.
Unfortunately she’s probably too old to catch fire. She’s 35 but if she had been doing this including the look at 25 she would have absolutely broken out. I also think she would have been big in the 90s when alternative and blue grass were at peak popularity.
This vid is gaining 1000 views a day, only out 4 days. I was also there, and hell yeah felt the goosebumps at the relevance of the moment - the next rising supernova star honoring another great in her own stomping grounds. Someone mentioned this is this generation's Amy Winehouse. I would have to agree, but Sierra delivers way more earnest, open humanity. And I love Amy Winehouse. But yeah, only comes along once a decade, if that. I hope Sierra reaches a lot of hearts! We need it!
When a crowd recording is this good, you know you're in the presence of a great talent. I'm a guitar player, and lead player paid dues in practice land!!!😂
I have! Saw her at a festival a couple of years ago and was absolutely captivated! I grew up on the land of country music but it's not my thing (I like a couple of singers, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, etc, but don't really listen) In fact I didn't know Sierra sang country when I went to see her set. Someone just said she was worth hearing so I went. So glad I did! I don't understand why she's not the biggest star in country right now! But that's OK. I love her and can't get enough. I recently bought a ticket for s festival just to hear her (I did stay to hear Charley Crockett, also amazing!!) Give me more!! More more!!
Me too. I was at that Lincoln Hall show in Chicago...pretty awesome... And Jaime Wyatt was the opener and she ain't too shabby either... Just heard her on E-town and she sounded excellent.
Damn!!!!!! Phenomenal!!!!!!! I have seen her twice, but she’s yet to cover Janis when I’ve seen her. Hope to witness this one day!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!!!!!
Just saw her a week ago for the second time and she did this one! Such a great cover, she does Janis justice! Fantastic!! If you’re catching her this tour, she’ll likely play it. 🩶🩶🩶
Probably been said already, but Kristofferson wrote Me and Bobby McGee for his good friend Roger Miller, who recorded the first version of the song i heard.
damn she's so talented and versatile - my favorite artist since stumbling upon in 2019; thanks for capturing and sharing (i couldn't get tickets to the sold out show)!!!
Better than I expected. Brave to cover this when you have Joplin herself and vocalists like Leeann Rhymes to compare to. Sierra Hull is like the vocal version of a session guitarist- she’ll pull of anything without being “bad” and do well most of the time.
This was a masterful homage to Janis! She nailed all the details without trying to impersonate her. I don’t think there’s another singer out that could come close. TL4E Sierra!😻
Fortunate enough to have witnessed this show live last night at the Warfield. About every 20 years an artist comes along that moves me. Last one was Elliot Smith now this little Gem. Hope she is in for the long haul. She’s a special one.

😊😊😊
She's a straight up angel! ❤
She is definitely old school with fans - just like the country greats she admires.
Awe ❤
Can I ask what songs she did for her encore?? Hoping for I Can Drive you Crazy.. Seeing her next month, can't wait.
Best cover artist in the game...best songwriter and voice in a generation. And she dresses any damn way she feels like.
Pure mojo.
I love the way she’s dressed. No doubt she has confidence.
Fuck yeah.
Billy Strings does some awesome covers, as does Molly Tuttle... Seen 'em all and they're all excellent performers...
Very mediocre compared to Janis and Pink, sad to say.
@@alan4surecan’t explain?
Ignorant!
No. One. Like. Her! So. Good!
She is going to be an absolute legend someday. She already is to the people who are already listening to her.
Best female country vocalist touring right now, and her backing band is all amazing musicians. Go see her live!
I’d classify her as blue grass alt.
I have tickets to go see The Avett Brothers in Rochester - i'm not going to see them though - I'm going to go see the real headliner.
Truth!
Same! Sierra Ferrell isn't opening for the Avett Brothers. The Avett Brothers are closing the show for Sierra Ferrell 😏
Kris got it down right. I saw Janis Joplin sing this in 1969 at Winterland in San Francisco. Sierra gave great credit to both artists. Beautiful, moving performance. Thanks Sierra.
She wails like Janis and has an even better voice!
Kris wrote this song. Yes, he got it write 😂. Sierra is a great performer, too. I prefer her renditions of traditional mountain music, but it is nice that she brings this song to life for a new generation
@@richardwarren449 She did sing it better. I'm amazed.
I really enjoyed this. Beautiful voice. Of course I loved Janis Joplin too!
She's writing this book her own way. She's talented, courageous and relentless. And cannot be defined.
Lord please look after her so we'll have her a long, long time.
What I'd give for an entire album of covers from this woman
Yep.
Yes nothing but Billy Joe Shaver and Waylon Jennings
What a bond between her voice and that guitar 🫶✨✨
She gets weirder and more wonderful all the time. A really great singer with a song absolutely made for her
Keep Sierra Weird !
Loving the new wave of true musicians we have now. Sierra, Molly, Billy, Sierra H. Just to name a few.
Quality music is in good hands.
She is simply amazing.
She does nothing badly and this one is perfect for her.
Thanks for sharing!
This is mediocre. Janis Joplin did it better before you were even born.
I have heard so many people cover this song and this is by far the best! ❤ omg I love her 😍
How blessed are we to have Sierra, my Lord do I love this woman. She’s pure magic. ♥️
Agree!
She's a perfect wonder of musical marvels
When I saw, "Sierra Ferrell "Me and Bobby McGee", I laughed to myself and thought, she's got this.
Same. Stopped what I was watching previously and said “oh shit”.
We are seeing a new star on the rise
Some of us have been watching this star for years.
Unfortunately she’s probably too old to catch fire. She’s 35 but if she had been doing this including the look at 25 she would have absolutely broken out. I also think she would have been big in the 90s when alternative and blue grass were at peak popularity.
@@RJS1974 She was.
I love her voice, but damn if she isn’t just so pretty too
I would agree, but the face tat, nose ring, lip piercings, and worst of all, the mutilated eye tooth, doesn't do her any favors....
She is the queen!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great cover! I'm glad to see her getting back to more costumes and crowns like she used to wear. And Oliver Bates Craven was excellent on the guitar!

I saw Janis sing this song in San Francisco in 1968. Love Sierra
❤❤️ ❤
The song didn’t come out until til 1971…😊
@@dext037 The record was released in 1971 but her live performances - of that song and others - almost all occurred before she died in 1970...... 😊
Monterey?
This was always my karaoke song ✨
When a crowd recording is this good, you know you're in the presence of a great talent.
I'm a guitar player, and lead player paid dues in practice land!!!😂
Dude plays a number of instruments well as far as I can tell
She's rad. I think many who weren't country fans before have found her and totally dig what she does.
Not “country “ anymore
Just noise.
I have! Saw her at a festival a couple of years ago and was absolutely captivated! I never liked country before.
She nailed it.
So damn cool. What a voice!
Ol Oliver got down on that solo!! I cant wait to see this live, they did this song justice
Kris would be so delighted.
This song is a gem performed by a stunning Jewel! Christ ... Ferrel is good!
She was a huge influence for Sierra. Wonderful.
This is Incredible!!!
My favorite song to sing!!!!
Kris, Janice and now (a long time later!!) Sierra...... What a superb version. Love it.
And ol' Roger :)
Miss Sierra always brings tears to my eyes with her incredible energy. Lucky to have attended a show of hers, right in the front row ❤❤
I've been blessed by seeing her live twice. Simply amazing
I’m going to see her in April … YEHAAAA 😻
Me too! I saw her twice and got to talk with her both times. She's a sweetheart.
Me too. I was at that Lincoln Hall show in Chicago...pretty awesome... And Jaime Wyatt was the opener and she ain't too shabby either... Just heard her on E-town and she sounded excellent.
She is so cool! But she seemed genuinely surprised that the audience knew every word. I can’t wait to see her in concert!
Damn!!!!!! Phenomenal!!!!!!! I have seen her twice, but she’s yet to cover Janis when I’ve seen her. Hope to witness this one day!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!!!!!
And it's a damn poor copy of Janis, too.
Just saw her a week ago for the second time and she did this one! Such a great cover, she does Janis justice! Fantastic!! If you’re catching her this tour, she’ll likely play it. 🩶🩶🩶
the way it takes you on a full ride
She really is outstanding
What a woman! Unique!!🤩
I"M CRYING !! LOVE OUR SIERRA !
Never heard of this girl till this very second I pressed play- real nice rendition and she dresses wacky too- 👍🏼
Like they say...better late than never....
Welcome abroad, mate.
Look for more from her she is amazing
Best young voice I've heard since Adele hit big. Wow, the pipes on her!
Outstanding !!!!!
Probably been said already, but Kristofferson wrote Me and Bobby McGee for his good friend Roger Miller, who recorded the first version of the song i heard.
Natural entertainer with her own voice❤❤❤
Nailed it Sierra! How about an Album of Old Hits For an Old Man
Man, I'd love to hear her sing standards, Autumn in New York, stuff like that.
I can't stop watching this one!!! It's electrifying!!!
beautiful, she is true blue.
My heart 😍 somebody get this woman a duet with Dolly
Outstanding
🤘🇺🇸😍 . She makes you feel it !!!
Awesome, I can look forward to this on some of her tour dates this summer ('24)
That rug really ties the stage together.
This is her best cover of this song.
Amen!
Very well done.
Amazing woman, great voice
Wow
It’s crazy. I love JJ, but Sierra gives the goods without seeming like she has to even try..
Nicely done, she definitely has Janis' SPUNK . ! .
The Hillbilly Angel ❤
Finally she sings Janis' songs and long may it continue, cause that's completely down her alley !
I can’t get over how fucking beautiful she is!!!!!
and talented
From a distance, but................
the face tat, nose ring, lip piercings, and worst of all, the mutilated eye tooth, doesn't do her any favors....
Hell yeah! That was awesome
How can anyone not like that!❤😊
Freedom!!! Do not comply. Grow a garden :)
damn she's so talented and versatile - my favorite artist since stumbling upon in 2019; thanks for capturing and sharing (i couldn't get tickets to the sold out show)!!!
Hell Yes!!
Saw her sing this as an encore at Webster Hall NYC. 16th May 2024. Amazing concert. Magical.
This is just incredible
God damn! Good Lord. That's freakin awesome.
She continues to amaze...❤️☀️❤️☀️❤️
holy shit
What did we do to deserve her? What an absolute gem.
Not over sung and true to the original vibe. Class act.
Love the way she digs into a song and works the hell out of it.
Well, she does deserve a place in the company of Kris Kristofferson et al. If for some reason distinguished ears don't think so...just wait.
Sierra makes music history w every breath she breathes 😢🎉 oh how I love you! x
Been waiting years for the Janis connection to Sierra. Amazing as anticipated.
Better than I expected.
Brave to cover this when you have Joplin herself and vocalists like Leeann Rhymes to compare to.
Sierra Hull is like the vocal version of a session guitarist- she’ll pull of anything without being “bad” and do well most of the time.
Hull, or Ferrell?
MAsterpiece!!
I'd love to hear her tackle this one in the studio and really give it her all. It sounded like she was holding back a bit to me.
This kid is going places.
He can do all thatg guitar stuff, any and all.
I've heard others cover this song and they are also great singers but they don't seem to capture the vibe/essence of it. Sierra does and I love it.
She gives me early Dolly Parton vibes, in a good way. Her voice, her style...even the way she looks!
💖 💖 💖
I haven’t been this excited since Brandi Carlile’s rise…Go Sierra.
WESTbyGOD ❤️🤯❤️
Bout' damn time..
Voice has the purity of Patsy Cline.
Fuckin Awesome!
As much as I adore Sierra, no one can touch Janis ❤
This was a masterful homage to Janis! She nailed all the details without trying to impersonate her. I don’t think there’s another singer out that could come close. TL4E Sierra!😻
Perfectly said. Done without drugs.
I don’t think anyone is trying to touch Janis. That’s Not what it’s about.

🥰
Amazing!
this is much better than i thought it be. she sounds very similar to Janis, just not as raspy.
Sierra could sing the phone book and still sound amazing.
Sierra fuckin rules!
Amazing artist.
