It's honestly astonishing how respectful and educated Micheal Sheen is! He's such an amazing actor
Agreed he's 🔝
he knows
he knows and he’s all for it
Are good manners astonishing?!
@@graziacavasino8884 Unfortunately, yes. Especially when it comes to not being homophobic...
Michael Sheen protector of fanfiction
I hear that he’s written some himself!
@@GingerPeacenikthe day he releases his ao3 username is the day the fanbase explodes
@@GingerPeacenikI’d love to read it ❤
@@GingerPeacenikprobably
I hop so ❤
We ALL know that Michael has a secret AO3 account that he uses to read our fanfiction
he is totally the one writing some of it
@@raantaaroI wouldn't be surprised honestly 🤣🤣🤣
Kudos from BlondAngel!
%100 he does I’m sure
Just saw another video where he admitted as much to writing most of it
I love him so much. It's so refreshing to see someone actually defending fan culture.
Кроули, Азирафаэль и Габриэль читают фанфики.
Crowley, Aziraphael and Gabriel read fan fiction.

Sheen was aware of Twilight fanfiction too, so yes, he knows it.
999th like
I mean not all fan culture should be defended... just the acceptable groups xD
@@TheDragonsRosefr. Some fanfic writers are actually creepy
Watching this made me realize how few celebrities are actually FOR fan culture instead of against it. Fanfiction literally encourages people to read and write, which is something AMAZING... schools wish they had 1% of that power lol
They probably think it's ALL rpf...
@@vilmavanninen6950depends on the fandom. Anyone* would get weirded out by RPF (which is why shippers need to respect boundaries instead of tagging their fics to the actors) but most of them are usually for character-based fiction.
People involved in movie and TV series creation should actually be glad there's fanfiction. I mean, it's free advertising of their show, which the fans are doing with enthusiasm on their own - so no need to seek and hire promoters whom they would have to pay a lot of money. It keeps the interest of the fan base alive, so people don't forget and move on as soon as the the show ends, and instead stay hyped for the next installment. Even after a particular show was cancelled, there will still be fanfiction ongoing, keeping the fandom alive for years and potentially making people want to rewatch.
@@proximashining776 True, there are quite a few shows and books that I never would've heard of, let alone read/watched if not for fanfiction.
This is why I loved when Chloé Zhao, director of MCU's Eternals, made an IG post featuring fan art of the movie and said she'd see us all on AO3 to see what we'd written lmao
The Sheen Tenant duo is the best thing that happened to television during the Covid era.
So true. Good Omens and Staged were such a welcome distraction.
It is older than that, though. I think they were already filming in 2017, and interviews in 2019 show Sheen totally in love (possibly platonic) with Tennant already. Staged was filmed when they were already close friends.
It's worth noting that Neil Gaiman is also very supportive of fanfiction, so it's not just Michael.
to be fair, good omens is a fanfiction of the bible lmao
@@obiethedruidbringer I'd almost call it a fan retcon at times, lol
Neil Gaiman has actually written several fan fictions, for example one about Sherlock Holmes called A Study in Emerald
In my mind it’s because Neil Gaiman values creativity as this fluid, magical thing and evoking any sort of creative response is honorable and brillant. If you’ve experienced any of his books - or Pratchetts, because they do have some weird mojo going on I find - they’ll never leave you. This kind of creativity strums something inside you so deeply, because there’s such humanity and, at the same time, wonder and brutal realism in them. And I think they all appreciate the impact and what evolves out of it because they’re honestly creative people. And they know they’re good. They don’t need to gatekeep.
I would not be surprised, Neil Gaiman has Tumblr
It’s so nice to see him defend fan fiction. And he’s right about people being quick to make fun of it. The actors and creators of BBC Sherlock did that and really crapped on the fans. Good Omens is so much different. The actors (especially Michael) love the fans, love the show, and want to give the fans what we want!
Si Moffat y Gatiss esos pequeños monstruos del queerbating
@@fatimazafar8907 I agree
There's people out there that write better fan fiction than writers on certain shows... 👀
@@tami3456that is facts!
@@fatimazafar8907I do agree to some degree like some fans take it way too far
Poor Michael's hair must be destroyed from all that bleach. Casting him and David Tennant as Aziraphale and Crowley was a master stroke by Neil Gaiman. Season 2 was brilliant, it topped season one for me by a long shot.
Yeah I really agree! They obviously focussed on different things here but they really used the tools they have available in a series vs a book now that they had a different plotline! Also the music, the acting and script writing feels like it got better? Idk if that is just because I watched the first season a while ago but have you noticed that as well?
yes😢 but looks like a cloud 🥺❤
@@ldeluxe2283 Honestly the problem with S1 for me was that I adore the book and the plot of Adam and the Them in the book was fantastic. But the child actors just weren't it for me. They were more annoying than anything else. Michael and David carried S1 on their backs. This time around I found myself really interested in the new characters and felt they added so much to the over plot. The music in GO has always been flawless i think but yes, it was definitely top tier this season. Buddy Holly and Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy? Neil Gaiman is spoiling us!
@@ihavespoken4555 yeah good point, i totally agree
I couldn’t have agreed more
Graham: your fans are very passionate
Michael: let me use this opportunity to tell you all just how amazing fan fiction is and how much I love it

I can't imagine anyone better for the Aziraphale role than Michael Sheen. He's brilliant as an actor. But most importantly he is such a respectful and insightful person. He radiates nice energy. No wonder people call him "light and fluffy" cuz he is exactly that 💖
Michael light and fluffy sheen came from him making something on bake off 😂😂😂
But yea very trueee
I would just love to sit and have tea with Michael and David and just listen to them banter back a forth. Heavenly.
@@dulce3459 yes I have seen it. I could use more of that as well 😉
Did you watch Staged yet? You’ll have to skip the Simon parts, to get to David, Michael, and their families.
seconding Staged; also, David has a podcast episode with Michael (which isn't exactly banter but it's a good conversation)
STREAM SEASON 2 GUYS LET’S MAKE SEASON 3 HAPPEN AND GET THE HAPPY ENDING WE DESERVE
YES, WE NEED TO RECOVER FROM IT
AND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BC THIS HEART AIN'T HEALING ITSELF
@@anamelchior7194 TRUE
I see Neil Gaiman just being in a goofy mood and killing one of them off and let them die in the others arms. (I will also be 6 feet under if this happens)
@@annav341 NO I WILL CRY
There are certain actors who deserves a passionate fandom and Michael is one of them. He understands and appreciates his fans in a way that shows how some actors are designed for the cult-like shows.
Michael Sheen is such an underrated actor.
Michael as well as Lizzy Caplan had such great on-screen chemistry in Showtime's "Masters Of Sex."
Such a great show just to get into the psycho social history of it
Lexically significant btw.
So is your S in ALIAS btw you wouldn't know it but that's also relevant to the Aziraphale of it all 👀 which you'd know if you were wrapped up in an ALIAS type Illuminati conscious creation what? Nothing nevermind.
Aziraphale is the same as Thoth is the same as S if A is 0 in the Tarot making 0 The Fool and S 18 or The Moon. That is why ALIA S is significant in that situation but is syncretized... And it's why the burning of his gateway bookstore is so so so so much fun in the Good Omens book / series. Sorry I very much enjoy creating theories around this but really it is this even if people haven't figured this out.
And ALIA S is associated as I say it because the Thoth keys are ALL THROUGHOUT ALIAS if you pay attention from the very beginning including the use of Kryptos Cipher at the very beginning of the series (which I solved btw) and these are all linguistic and mythological keys... Only known by those with eyes to see.. generally in the intelligence community or conspiracy community. Or people like me who are ignored.
I think he's the only person I've heard who just rolls with fan culture (and is definitely part of it) and it just makes me love him even more. Let the fanfiction continue
Neil Gaiman is also very supportive of the fandom and fanfictions (he just doesn't read them, so nobody could accuse him of stealing their ideas)
@@nightfan1983but did he specify which fanfiction he doesn't read? Because if for his own ongoing projects, I can understand, but if none, then the reasoning is a bit like "I'm not going to read any books just in case" or "I'm not going to look at any art since I'm an artist".
The actor from our flag means death iggy hands think that’s the name stated he reads fan fiction sent by fans even the steamy ones.
Michael Sheen, taking every single possible opportunity to talk about how amazing fanfiction is:
Graham has been surprising his guests with their fanfictions since forever, but this is the probably the first time someone is so enthusiastic about it.
Does he do it for a shock value or do you think he enjoys it too and tries to add to his work? I guess the first one seems more likely, but it's really a shame...
I'd like a round of applause to whoever raised this fine gentlemen
I mean, Michael Sheen's mom literally has a Twitter account and retweets a lot of fan edits and chaotic posts about her son. It's amazing
@@RUClassicallyTrained damn maybe I should get Twitter, just for Michael Sheen and his mum
@@RUClassicallyTrained You've literally made my whole year
@@katerinajaksi1162 Please do. Michael's tweets are the most incredible thing. He goes from soft and encouraging to full feral and back again. I recommend watching his vlogs as well
@@berrylly Everyone in that family seems to be a character: Michael, his mom, his dad, his daughter... They're a chaotic fun bunch
Neil Gaiman was once prodded for an opinion on fanfiction from someone who clearly expected him to be against it. His response: "I won the 2004 Hugo Award for Best Short Story for an H. P. Lovecraft /Arthur Conan Doyle mashup fiction, so fanfiction had better be legitimate, because I’m not giving the Hugo back."
We adore Michael Sheen in this house. I really love him for sticking up for fanfiction.
I'm WHEEZING, but is honestly so great how chill he is given how EXTREME fanfics get [he clearly knows lmao]
I'm sure he has writen some himself lol
It's kind of strange, because he does seem to blur the edges between him as an actor and Aziraphale as a character (look at their (with David) interviews; they often talk in the first person, sometimes it starts in third person but quickly goes back to first person, like when they talking about "the key to happiness" for the character, it ended up with sentences like "I would take you to the movies, we'd see Company"), and even here he says "me having sex with David Tennant" even though vast majority of fanfiction is about the characters and some of them existed before the show. But despite all that, he still reads it. I'd understand it more if he was like "I just played a character, and they write about the characters, so it's not personal for me and I'm not weirded out, and I can enjoy it". But it clearly is somewhat personal and he still likes it. Pretty sus 😂
@@tymondabrowski12 I mean, he has been a big fan of Good Omens ever since the book came out, so I'd imagine that Aziraphale isn't just another character to him that'll pay his bills but someone important, so it makes sense for the lines to blur when it's someone special you've loved for a long time
My brother called me a freak for reading Fanfiction. I think fanfiction is an amazing start to aspiring writers. If i remember right even Neil Gaiman defended it.
many authors i follow went on to publish og content
Neil Gaiman even writes it
Yeah, Neil even said he has won at least two awards for writing fanfiction 👍
In the name of god, Michael is such a cinnamon roll, so kind, respectful, caring and passionate himself. There is no better choice for Aziraphale in the entire universe, they are so so so alike
I am going to start calling lovely people cinnamon rolls. That is just adorable.
I'm happy Sheen is so supportive of fanfiction. I remember seeing the creators of Sherlock really looking down on Johnlockers (although the ship has existed since 1887) so it's nice to see an actor that actually likes the fandom.
1887?!? damn those are some old gays right there.
As a proud fanfiction writer, this makes me love Michael even more!🥰
I love that, knows whats going on and doesn't judge, what a champion.

I've always love Michael Sheen. He's such a talented actor.
And now... even more. As a fanfic author there is so much social stigma and it's so nice to see an actor speak in supportive of so many fandom creators.! ❤️
Neil Gaiman has also said (when asked if he was okay with fanfiction) something like "I won two awards for writing fanfiction, why would I be against it?" ♥️
I felt so called-out for a split second there, then I felt comforted that he was alright with it.
Am I the only one who needs to mentally recover from the last episode. Like they finally did what was hinted about from s1 but so fast I couldn’t process it and in the end I lay on the floor crying my heart out
wait it was hinted??

Fan fiction is beautiful. It’s true it can be about anything, but oh my goodness the talent, the commitment, the ability to practice literacy while interacting with media you love!
I used to write Fanfiction 20 years ago and sporadically when I could find the inspiration and remember my info.
Didn't know people thought of fanfiction as weird and looked down on it like that.
Been in fandoms for over twenty years too (Yay SG1) and back in the days before AO3, fanfiction was really treated like some sort of bad dirty secret not to ever mention. Now adays I think even non writers and readers have heard about it.☺
@@madisont8529younger ones probably grew up with it.
I really love and appreciate michael and neils stance on fanfic it's extremely misunderstood outside of "fandom"
I kinda want to see a video of David Tennant and Michael Sheen reading the fanfiction together.
Let's make a season 3 more than a fanfiction guys!!! ❤
oh boy do i have news for you
He is such an amazing man. I love his openness. Some celebrities will shy away from such discussions. For goodness sake, it
just enhances the story about two beautiful men in love.
I have read some of the fan fiction he speaks of. Yes, it can be quite sexually explicit but the love between Crowley and Aziraphale, shines through in its beautiful description of their sexual experience.
Thank you Michael for your openness.
I feel like he created all of the fanfic enjoyers and creators in a lab and then let them out on purpose and said "oops! Didn't mean to do that!" And then a new level of hell was created
That is the most wholesome response to fanfiction I have ever seen (actually, Daniel Radcliff is pretty awesome about it too)
He has definitely read some of it
Bless him for defending fanfiction. It irked me how people pretended fanart was above it all the bad stuff. Please… There’s dodgy stuff in both. There are some truly amazing stories people have told. I implore people to not judge something because of a stereotype.
After season 1 Michael used to retweet lots and lots of Good Omens fanart 💖 this time he's very busy and it's not online as much, but still finds the time to answer questions from us 🥰
I just finished watching the 2nd season and I gotta say the writers seem to have taken inspiration from said fan fiction
I love how causal he is about him and David having sex.
It’s a normal everyday thing
Spoken like a man who knew exactly what to expect when he signed on for the role XD
That's why I'm so dying to see the 3rd season. So interesting how far Michael and David can come in their role....😆😘😘😘
Nah because I've read fanfics that are _INSANELY WELL-WRITTEN_ than some "best seller" I've picked off the shelf and paid for. Will always defend fanfictions too.

Michael Sheen is amazing. Sorry he didn't join in on your looking down and being weird about fanfic. You're the weird one here, GN. I'm so grateful that Michael Sheen exists.
I cannot imagine him as anyone else as Aziraphale. Every time he speaks, I feel like I'm watching Good Omens again. He's so respectful and nice!
The fact he knows about it and possibly reads it makes me WANT TO WRITE IT EVEN MORE.
I have read so many fanfiction that are full on novels and so very much better written than actual published books.
Loved Michael Sheen since Underworld, and he played an amazing Emperor Nero
I love the various art fans make, amazing.
My first piece of fan fiction was a conversation -- Crowley begging Aziraphale to come back. These two are so easy to write about!
God I love him so much this was very brave of him which is on brand with Michael Sheen. Many people see this and he knows it and decided to spread positivity about fanfiction. While other actors (who may not be against fanfiction) would rather have a neutral stance on it on tv, he goes full-on 'FOR fanfiction' and even points out that it's wrong that many people are weird about the whole idea. This man fears nothing and no one, he really says what's on his mind and that's why I love watching interviews with him because he never shuts up about David Tennant being attractive 😂
