Beautifully done Doodle. As a Indigenous Native American living in Oklahoma. This is an issue nationwide. Once in a great while you will see a banner or billboard of someone missing. It is definitely not talked about enough. Thank you so much for doing this.

Absolutely amazing and beautifully told story that is so important. I also felt like the history of our native peoples' story ended in the 1900s. I had tears when they gifted you the vest and referred to you as a sister. It really shows the type of impact you have on others and how you can connect. Safe travels!

I've had many native American friends throughout my life, and they have been the most welcoming people I've ever known. Taking time to teach me about their heritage and culture. One friend who was Lakota even taught me some of their language. I think I need to look some of them up and see how they are doing. Thanks for sharing the video.

You did yourself proud as a content creator here. As a biker and Lady. Well done.
Thank you for sharing this and all the ladies for their honesty and insight.
You would not be human if you didn't cry. I did from here in the UK. I am often ashamed of the history of England as I was born there with an English dad (I never knew) but Scottish mum and her culture was strong. My family are highlanders. That is my families culture, that is another area of English history sadly. I guess I'm in the middle and moved to Wales where I've made my home.
The continued horrors indigenous people are experiencing and disparities in policing and investigation is a crime in itself.
Thank you for sharing this. You are truly better than any motovlogger I've watched on you tube for this alone.
Take and love to you all.

In my opinion, your greatest ride, video and experience yet. I live in SD and have always been interested in the Native American's culture. I have many good friends that are Natives. I call them Indians, and they don't mind. We laugh at the same things and enjoy life in the same ways. The Native tragedy is part of all of us and we should spend our lives trying to help. I asked if you had been to Wounded Knee, I go there and my soul is changed each time. That massacre is probably what sums up the white man's treatment of the Native American from that time and before in the saddest of ways.

Thank you, young lady. Thank you for helping bring awareness to our Missing and Murdered. This has brought up so many old memories of growing up as an Indigenous person, lessons learned over the years, lessons missed because I was too stubborn, loved ones gone, ones that are still here. Wiping away the tears, I again want to thank you. Keep riding and be safe in your travels.

:) WOW! THANKS SO MUCH for sharing this! KUDOS to all of you and the ride! I grew up in Canada, and still remember the pain and suffering there too, the Highway of Tears, where so many 1st Nation women have been lost :( I remember some friends and their stories shared :( Canada had recognised FINALLY a Day of Truth and Reconciliation, and the Orange Shirts for all the Children LOST to those schools. Yes, the disrimination is REAL and still abounds sadly. So many had to suffer from the Colonists and Governments to this day. ALL the BEST and Thank you again! :)

    Hoka Hey Doodle, Pilomiya
    Miss Doodle,
    I've always known there was something about you that set you out from the crowd. I have told you of my Suicide tattoo but I'll share it again;
On my right wrist above my thumb it begins with a Teal colored semicolon. Teal represents PTSD Awareness and for a writer the semicolon mean there's more to come. ;IGY6 with a red 22 behind it. I Got Your 6/back, my 6 is not red as I do not know anyone that has committed suicide. Of the 75 suicides in America each day 22 are Service Members or Veterans.
Raising my children within the Native Community in and around Helena, MT we did our part to maintain skills. My children and I every spring hosted canoe safety and paddling classes for the Native Youths. Over the years I have prayed those kids continue to get out on the water in a good way.
Thank You Miss Doodle for all you do. Being a positive person is easy when you get out of self!
With Love and Respect, you are in my prayers
    Hoka Hey

He was a great man and really turned his life around when he met my Grandmother but he told us about the tough life he had as a child. Plenty of folks out there need to be exposed to these things so we can all heal.

That was awesome Doodle! 😍 What endless and beautiful honors were bestowed you during that amazing trip! I'm thrilled for you! TYSVM for sharing it all w/us. 🥰
~What was done - and what is still being done - to our indigenous peoples is both appalling and inexcusable. I think of how the native people were called "savages" by those invaders who came to this land, then systematically took it over. 💔We know who the REAL "savages" are - both then, and now. 🤬

I really loved this video. It reminded me of the effort to remember missing Vietnam Veterans. In the 1960s and 70s, VIVA created bracelets with a short description of missing soldiers. They were sold to raise money to continue to raise awareness and continue the search for them. I wore mine for several years, and luckily, he returned home after several years. My heart goes out to all the families missing family members and to those who are missing. Thanks, keep up the good work.

Years ago, I was driving across the country on I-40 west. I believe it was in New Mexico that the land was very flat with a substantial elevation change to the north creating a cliff that followed the interstate for many miles. It was late in the day and sun was reflecting off of something all along the cliff face for mile after mile. It looked like diamonds as cliff face sparkled. Finally, the cliff got close enough to the interstate, and my curiosity would not allow me to not investigate. What I found shocked me. For all the miles I traveled, the cliff face was covered by broken liquor bottles. Apparently there was a reservation to the north and generations of people had sat on top of that cliff, getting drunk and watching the world pass by.
You see, the reservation is not under the jurisdiction of regular authorities and the assistance that is provided has only resulted more problems for the people who live there.
I don’t have any answers but if we don’t acknowledge the questions and accept that what we are doing in not helping then things will continue and sad stories we heard on this video will continue to happen and be told again and again.

Thank you for this wonderful and informative video! I've been learning so much lately about how indigenous people have been treated in recent years. On a trip to San Francisco last spring, I went to Alcatraz and learned for the first time how the government had tried to eliminate all the reservations and assimilate the native people, which would have destroyed their culture and erased their history. None of this was taught in high school or even my basic college history courses.

Doodle, I've been away for a while, my bad. Having said that, I have a perspective of your channel that is completely changed after seeing this video. First, I saw your introduction video, where you worried about 'doing justice' to these fine people. You CAN most certainly put those worries away. This is such an extraordinary video. It's so clear you put your heart and soul into it. And I don't say that lightly. Meaning, I know you were understandably shocked by what you learned about the history of our Native People, and the horrors that they still endure. Yet you did what you had to do, to put this together. It is such a mature piece of film making. You should take great pride in this work. The vest and skirt were so beautifully earned.

I just discovered your channel, and have seen only this and two other of your videos, but I have to say that in addition to your being an extremely knowledgable and skilled biker, you are also a talented film maker (contrary to what you said in the vid). Your subject matter, cinematography, and editing bring so much more than just an ordinary biker channel. This was a very touching and important piece. Looking forward to enjoying many more of your videos. Keep up the great work !

Carolyn, this is such an important message you have started to tell. It is only through my own travels and with the help of some RUclips videos that I have started learning about how our Native Americans have been treated, even today. I learned of indigenous people, especially young women going missing in Alaska and the lack of caring by officials. Recently, I discovered the Stewart Indian Boarding School in Carson City Nevada, a few miles from my home. It is now the Stewart Indian Cultural Center and Museum. I intend to spend more time learning about this when I return home in the spring. It was gratifying to see you accepted as a Medicine Girl. These are messages that need to be put out. Unfortunately, in schools in many of our states, the message of minority history is being removed from the curriculum.

Most Harley related videos are painfully ignorant, full of misinformation and hate inducing nonsense....to the point where I've considered walking away from the brand completely. Thank you for making one with consciousness about a grossly under reported crisis in the communities of these lovely people indigenous who have had such a difficult and tragic story in their native land.

This is very eye opening. I'm with the CVMA (Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association) and I would love to meet up with them and do a ride. I think this is something my association would love to help represent and spread the awareness.
