I really wish Mark tried walking the other direction at the very beginning. If you do so for a few seconds, the screen fades to black and it just says "You have escaped." This is the right ending if you ask me.

I love the humanoid thing because if I remember right in the mystery flesh pit lore it was said that humans have probably been accidentally falling into the pit before it was discovered and adapting to the environment and living in it
Actually as part of the lore there are the marrow people who live in the deeper levels.

Knowing nothing about the Mystery Flesh Pit, my brain immediately went, "The earth is an entire organism with us walking around on its skin, and the pit is just its mouth. No wait, it's more akin to a cloaca, or just a pleasure hole. And when humans go spelunking into it, the Earth shudders in pleasure creating earthquakes. At the same time, the Earth treats us like invaders when we go inside and attacks us via its immune system comprised of all those organisms, many of which are transformed humans themselves that act similarly to how vaccines work."
Or something like that. I don't know. Earthquakes being Earth orgasms made myself laugh though.

I remember the Circus Clown Chymus story, where a 50 clowns were preforming, but they fell and their saftey net broke and they fell into a digestive pit, only to be found hours later, most still alive, but partially digested and fused together screaming.
When rescuers found them they were accidently vitrified by an experimental spray meant to reduce the acidic effects. Their corpses are now on display and was called the "Circus Clown Chymus" and is there to "show the dangers of not following safety precautions"
One of the stickers is straight up "God cannot help you after this point"

I love Mystery Flesh Pit a lot, primarily because of how local it is to my home town. the whole thing takes place in the Permian Basin and my home town is just outside that. Plus, the level of detail that is put into this series is just impressive, including the super well written disaster report that reads just like a real government document.

What is that?
Well, in the recent past of the Flesh Pit, a circus had set up operations right on top of it, and a group of clowns accidentally stepped in the wrong spot and fell into it.
They were all then partially digested alive, fused together, and emulsified into a horrific, birthday cake colored meat statue.
What’s extra horrifying is that they survived the process. Just imagine feeling your body half melt and fuse with other people in excruciating pain for multiple hours

You forgot the part where they were sprayed with an experimental nullifying agent that was designed to stop them from being digested…it kind of worked I guess.
The game dev really looked at that part in Doom where all the monsters are dead, but you need to find the key card to progress and are just kinda touching every part of the wall to try to find a way forward and said "What if that was the whole game?"
Yeah, the game really suffers from being a giant walking sim without much interesting to look at.

@@kingofspainMB1807 the flesh cave isnt just a cave of non-descript flesh, its like taking a walk through a body, it has veins, organs, structures to keep the muscles from closing back in, parts of the mystery flesh pit's trails require the person taking them to squeeze through tight gaps.

I remember a while back I made a custom critter for the Mystery Flesh Pit Subreddit called a Scuttler, basically a fairly unique scavenger-type organism about the size of a cat or a small dog descended from a tadpole shrimp (triops, if you wanna google). Unfortuantely I nuked the file when I decided to leave reddit, but I still have the pictures I made somewhere.

I once sat through an entire living flesh pit lore explained and it was insane and I have to say it's almost an entire universe it's self and is worth the watch. It's insane.
I really hope mark playing this nets more interest for the mystery flesh pit. I desperately need a high quality dead space style game where i play as a park ranger trying to escape and evac guests from the doomed park on the day of the incident

I remember going to the Mystery Flesh Pit when I was a kid, back before they shut it down. Truly a breathtaking park, shame today's kids won't be able to experience it
My family visited it once about a year before it was shut down. I know what happened was super tragic and all...but I remember I was sooooo sad when mom said we couldn't go back
Always wanted to go there and see the wildlife, the “cave flesh” ecosystem and how it would effect its inhabitants evolution fascinated me greatly back then, hopefully the ecosystem didn’t get too messed up after the “awakening.”
I was born in the flesh pit, my parents were taking a vacation in the park and my mom went into labor.
I was there when the catastrophe happened, I was eight years old. When it coughed the fauna panicked and took my left leg. While I crawled around and bled out, I saw my mother and father fall deeper into the pit; into a section that no one comes back from. In that moment I had lost everything, so I made the decision to keep my family. I crawled further in and was lost to the pit.
I died that day.

Roblox actually already made a game about it. You can play as a tourist, or a ranger, or a tour guide, or the monsters itself.

Mark talking about the Ocarina of Time Redeads and how they mentally scarred everyone, gives me a small amount of comfort.
Fun thing about the Mystery Flesh Pit, r/mysteryfleshpit and several of the youtube videos made by the creator are filled with people talking about the pit historically (roleplaying if you will) its really fun and neat to read, I love how the fans have been making extensive lore and backstory for the Pit. I've joined in on this and have slowly been trying to convince my mom that the pit is real but it closed down since we live in Texas. The results have been nothing but hilarious.

My favorite thing about Mystery Flesh Pit is the cosmic horror. I love the fact that the climax of the story is that the park was destroyed bc the creature coughed. The idea that Humans, the supposed “Kings of the Jungle” are nothing more than mere ants to this creature is incredibly fascinating and terrifying

Watching Mark stumble and fumble his way through ANY non-linear game is always entertaining.
Right around the time the weird not-person *thing* started sliding after Mark, I had thought to myself "hey, at least the creatures that are down here with him aren't ALWAYS chasing him"

This game kinda reminds me of that old Magic School Bus episode where they shrink done and travel inside Arnie's body. Only it's a lot stranger...I think this game is someone's nightmare version of that episode.

I have a few questions about this game. Are the people that follow you people who have gotten lost in the tunnels before? Does light affect them because they haven’t seen it in a long time? Did they lose their flesh to the pit? Are the first aid kits for them? Was this all answered on the little paper that mark didn’t read? And unrelated does the Mothman like Baja Blast?
The people that follow you are most likely the mythical "Marrow Folk," which is canonically a cryptid within the MFP. It's spoken about in legend, but its existence has never been confirmed. It's said that most so-called "marrow folk" encounters are actually misidentified Gasp Owls. It appears as though this game has taken some liberties and made the Marrow Folk real.
