YG has always tried to promote Blackpink in the Western market and to promote each member as an individual in its own way. So, despite the flaws and problems the company clearly has, I can't completely dismiss YG-and I thank them for bringing the girls together and making them known. With that, I am now extra happy that we see so much of each member; it's like a gift!
The major problem with YG was that he didn't give the girls enough creative freedom, that's it. This is one of the reason why antis make fun of BP bcz they are rarely incolved in making of their songs. Otherwise, YG's strategy has been very beneficial for BP.

Bigbang where huge over Asia and some parts of western countries, but let's be honest, not on the level of success BP has today. And i say this as a VIP. Reasons why they didn't have creative could be because of : 1) Their Global success was so fast that the company was scared to let the members experiment on writing songs and later face criticism or let down people if they didn't come out with the same concept as before. 2) The artist you have mentioned are all leaders of their respective groups except Mino, and i have seen when leaders write music the distribute lines for each members. BP doesn't have a leader and incase a member of BP writes a song where all the members don't have equal line then their solo fans will rip them to pieces. 3) They might just have very different taste in music. And it looks evident with the music they have been putting out recently. Like I can't see Jennie in a song like APT or Jisoo in Rockstar.
If you really think about this wisely, you know that YG is very carefull about their artist activity. Having lots of solo activity in an active group is not a very nice decision (for ex 4minutes, Miss A, etc). Bigbang is the last group with lots of solo music activity, even 2NE1 not getting alot cmiiw🤞🏻Its not their agencies fault, they have their own management and target, thats bussiness. As unfair as it sounds, i’m gratefull that they debuted in YG not in other agencies. And I’m also happy that they are shining on their own now. YG Entertainment did a good job initially TRAINING the blackpink members, but they still neglected them in many ways. The crappy dorm rooms, the dangerous dieting habits, making the group way too exclusive, making decisions that exacerbated hate against certain members (jennie in particular). In 2017 they only got to release one song because YG was busy shoveling millions of dollars into a TV show to create a competing group. If that TV show didn’t flop, YG would’ve spent all their time on their competition show group and none BLACKPINK. In 2018 they went viral with d4. Which only came out because Blinks harassed the company into giving them a comeback. After that they got invited to Coachella which boosted their career, but guess what? YG didn’t capitalize on that. Plus, they let Jennie get raked over the coals, not explaining her injury. They refused to release music at a reasonable time leading people to believe that did they didn't care about music. Did you know that when Oddatelier was announced people were so convinced that it was some sort of clothing brand, because they could not believe she cared about music? YG allowed that mindset to thrive.

Only the true good Female vocalist will thrive in the Western or Global market & stage, while the rest will only last as long as their being hype, only good for their specific Asian target market. Now the problem with good vocals & talents in Asia, can they compete side by side with Barbie-looking Disney princesses idols of Hollywood like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez and Olivia Rodrigo, to name just a few, but that’s just in America, not yet including European & Latin American talents.
Even with 2ne1 yg used a similar strategy but look at them now they're barely seen on the charts and are struggling but bp members are smart enough to stand on their own and stay successful without relying on their old company.

I know YG is getting a lot of hate, but the girls wouldn't be who they are if not for the training in YG and the big decisions that YG did to promote them. All the songs we love were because of YG. Marketing them more than just music artists but also fashion icons was also thanks to YG. If I have any concerns with YG -- it's that it favored the rappers more than the singers in terms of musical releases and promotions -- Jisoo and Rose only had 2 songs released (Hard to Love doesn't count) when they could've easily done more collaborations of even Kdrama soundtracks.
Please do not mislead the viewers. Blackpink stayed at YG as a group, and the decision to go solo for a year was decided by the 4 of them. The decision have nothing to do with YG. As what Rose said, she wanted to show her own color in every solo song, same with Jennie and Lisa. It means, in their solos, they will not carry the YG DNA, for a change. In 2025, Blackpink will comeback as a group, energized and inspired.

YG entertainment was neglectful as hell. saying they're the reason for their success post 2018 is false. In 2017 they only got to release one song because YG was busy shoveling millions of dollars into a TV show to create a competing group. If that TV show didn’t flop, YG would’ve spent all their time on their competition show group and none BLACKPINK.
In 2018 they went viral with d4. Which only came out because Blinks harassed the company into giving them a comeback. After that they got invited to Coachella which boosted their career, but guess what? YG didn’t capitalize on that.
Plus, they let Jennie get raked over the coals, not explaining her injury. They refused to release music at a reasonable time leading people to believe that did they didn't care about music.
Did you know that when Oddatelier was announced people were so convinced that it was some sort of clothing brand, because they could not believe she cared about music? YG allowed that mindset to thrive.
If yg was the reason of their success then babymonster and other kpop groups should have gotten this much success but they didn't. It's blackpinks heroines themselves that made them successful they already surpassed their solo songs which were under yg

I know YG is getting a lot of hate, but the girls wouldn't be who they are if not for the training in YG and the big decisions that YG did to promote them. All the songs we love were because of YG. Marketing them more than just music artists but also fashion icons was also thanks to YG. If I have any concerns with YG -- it's that it favored the rappers more than the singers in terms of musical releases and promotions -- Jisoo and Rose only had 2 songs released (Hard to Love doesn't count) when they could've easily done more collaborations of even Kdrama soundtracks.
Please do not mislead the viewers. Blackpink stayed at YG as a group, and the decision to go solo for a year was decided by the 4 of them. The decision have nothing to do with YG. As what Rose said, she wanted to show her own color in every solo song, same with Jennie and Lisa. It means, in their solos, they will not carry the YG DNA, for a change. In 2025, Blackpink will comeback as a group, energized and inspired.

For example- Rose's song APT got heavy playlisting on spotify,adds on spotify,youtube,Apple Music and Tik tok hence their is literally nothing organic about it. It's just western label thing to pay to make their artists song look like the song is hit.This is not only limited to bp members but most of the artists signed with western labels in general.
When you see blackpink members first day playlisting on spotify you will see rose's song with most playlists along with lisa and jennie hence people thinking that these artists re doing it organically is completely wrong.
Sme case with groups like babymonster,aespa,straykidz coz when you look at the paid views on youtube almost 50% of their views are paid.

Every Kpop company has its own flaw including YG but that doesn’t mean he didn’t try his best for the girls. Giving them songs that will attract western audience and pushing their career for western audience to notice. He did all that and there’s no single credit to him, seems quite unfair to me
