High idle is typically used because most diesels have low oil pressure at the regular idle speed so high idle provides more oil pressure
Actually, the high idle is for when the engine driven AC compressor is cooling the coach. The engine doesn't turn the compressor fast enough to cool the bus at idle. Detroits have plenty of oil pressure at idle.
I guess it must be free since there is no price mentioned.

Detroit Diesel 2-stroke use straight 40 weight.
