Actually for an atom as massive as this neutron number would not equal the proton number - it is the neutron number in larger atoms that determines stability of the nucleus, thus Howard Stark's neutron count would help Tony know how to create a stable new element.
I think the size of the buildings might have been an indication of neutron vs proton also the placement would be relative to where in the nucleus the neutron or proton is. The indicated structure of the atom could also help determine which building is a neutron vs proton.
I found ambient sound "from" Quake1 in a movie about two dozen times. First ever, in Stargate, watery prison scene. Half of them are explosions. Specifically, "from" the Doom2 final boss exploding. Nowdays I belive they're not "from" anything: they have to be free libraries, like the famous Willhelm scream (google it),
I don't think it's ever explicitly stated but I love the theory that Howard Stark's research into a new element was based on trying to recreate an infinite stone. Tony's new element is the first step to something even greater
we will never know what exodus is i guess, its either related to the mutant "exodus" or just the xmen in general, maybe even the f4. I hope they havent forgotten about this project, and will address it in phase 4
After watching this clip an ungodly number of times, I just noticed something. A lot of the 'digital wireframe' sound effects were all from Halo. The scan is the shield recharge, and when he highlights the unisphere, the sound is a plasma grenade detonation. Tossing out the irrelevant details of the model also sound like melee attacks.
Thing is though, it's not Vibranium. Vibranium is natural while this 'Starkium' is synthesized. They also have different qualities for the most part since Starkium is based off studies on the Tesseract, hence the glow.
like the others said, no its not Vibranium. What he re-discovered is an element based on the structural energy signature of the Space Stone aka Tesseract. Howard wanted to use the same element, but he lacked the technology to reproduce it hence why he tells Tony in his message about it.
It's not vibranium it's the tesseract, Tesseract cube was made from certain material which can contain huge amount of power in it Probably some space metal like uru metal fromnwhich thors hammer is made of
The Avatar I know right. I started rewatching some scenes today and I'm like "what the hell why did I dislike this movie again?" And it was just the villain part.
Anyone else feels like this make soooo much more sense?? I always watch the original and think about how quick he discovered the series and tested it and all that, but this shows him actually thinking it and running the simulation and everything
The idea of discovering a new element like this is hard to follow in the suspension of disbelief. The difference between every element is just the atomic number. It's like discovering higher numbers. Obviously there's the idea of finally having a method to synthesize it, or just having a good use of it, but it'd be easier to follow to say he found a different structure of lithium or zinc or something, akin to the concept of deuterium being essentially a heavier version of hydrogen. Current "undiscovered" elements are just so dense and unwieldy that they don't form or don't hold structure long enough to be studied, even when made artifically. Correct me where I'm wrong, chemists :)
youmakeitwhatitis that's exactly what I was thinking. It'd be better if his dad had developed a synthesis for an element rather than "discovering" a new element
Perhaps his had just showed him the path to the "island of nuclear stability". That's the main issue with making new elements. We get a lot of highly unstable elements however theoretically once ou get past all these unstable versions, we will eventually reach a stable atom
it's not so much whether you can discover a higher number, it's like you said, the method of synthesizing it. There's a critter called Californium-232 that's apparently the most expensive element in existence because it decays so rapidly. They can MAKE it but it ain't cheap. Same thing here, I suspect. You have to have a reason for the thing to exist in the first place to need to manufacture it.
Obviously it doesn't work as simply put as in the movie, but following the suspension of disbelief, one could assume he synthesized a new, heavy element structured in a stable matrix. For instance, the heaviest known element is Ununoctium, with an atomic mass of 294. In theory, heavier elements than that could be made with significant cost, energy and would decay almost instantly. Let's say Stark found a way to organize the nuclear matter in a very stable state, with an efficient method, and thus "created" a new element with a mass of 300. That in itself implies that, not only he was able to synthesize the heaviest element, he also had to come up with a stable isotope (like you mentioned deuterium) to be even able to use it. It's quite the feat.
2:25 that is the gesture of a real genius. Exhaustion, disbelief of what his mind is currently processing, and that it’s seconds away from being completely true.
I love how absolutely no one, not even die hard fans understand what element he just “discovered”. And no you didn’t know either you just googled it rn.
Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. is the tesseract thing. They likely cut that from the final film because Tony wasn't supposed to have knowledge of project P.E.G.A.S.U.S.
From rediscovering a new element, to figuring out a time-traveling heist... Stark, my man, I'm gonna miss you. I mean, it was gonna happen sooner or later-I never pretended it wasn't. This was the man who launched the MCU as we know it. He's getting old, and let's face it-NOBODY else could be Tony Stark. That armor was MADE for him.
Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S.: Research using the Tesseract for FTL travel / teleportation Project G.O.L.I.A.T.H.: Hank Pym and Bill Foster's research on Pym Particles Project E.X.O.D.U.S.: ??? according to the comics, Project Exodus was SHIELD's research into Mutants.
This scene lost me. His dad built a blueprint for a, I can't even remember what. But it was Also secretly a design for a new element that Tony just so happens to need in order to survive. Daddy ex machina.
That doesn't stop it from being a synthetic version of Vibranium. Tony's dad most likely figured out the molecular structure of Vibranium but had no way to synthesis it hence he gave it to Tony to make. Vibranium in its natural form is only found in Wakanda but what Tony has is a synthetic version of it. What other element could he have "re-discovered" ?
It's the blue prints for the pavilion where they have the Stark Expo. Howard's intention was that it would be used for unlimited power for mankind - not that he had any knowledge it would save Tony's life.
It's replicated tesseract energy. Howard got ahold of both the tesseract and Hydra's weapons, which were powered by it, and thus was able to figure out and analyze its outlandish molecular structure...just not able to synthesize it. The arc reactor is a somewhat primitive version of a replicated tesseract (notice that Hydra used oversized arc-like reactors to store the energy for their weapons), but being based on palladium, it had the side effect of being extremely toxic when in contact with Tony's bloodstream. While the whole thing of the schematics is kind of farfetched, the concept of the element isn't all that crazy, and fits the rest of the established marvel lore perfectly. (revisiting the older movies, it's amazing just how well many concepts that would be properly introduced later were already connected and established)
Robert Downey Jr does such a good job in this role. Reminds me of me in high school. Didn’t know what half the stuff I was talking about meant but sure as hell made it sound like I did. Listening to him talk in character, you almost forget that he isn’t a genius who knows what all this means.
This should have been the one left in the movie, it showed him as a relatable person figuring out an issue, taking time small steps and intuition as he moves forward.
While I like the addition of testing it on the Mark 6 framework, I can see why they used the existing scene - Jarvis' congratulating him on creating a new element was a nice addition, and Tony's commentary after the new element model was made felt more natural in the existing one.
I like this version more, since in the original he doesn't color code first to get a better view, he just starts deleting things randomly. The fact that he specifies everything with a concrete structure says a lot more about the way he's looking at things.
project pegaxus is lightspeed airplane basically about tesseract, project goliath more like ant man can transform from small to big, now what is project exodus? is it project include 4 scientist that go to the planet got power and turn into fantastic 4 ?
I kind of hope there is a moment like this between Parker and Stark in the future. Like, I think Marvel will end up using "Exodus" as a way to introduce the X-Men, and it would be really cool if Peter was searching Stark files and come across Tony discovering or documenting the studies in relation to Exodus, but never went public about it. And in a way, he teaches Peter about the X-Men and how they came to be. Then Peter make some comment like "It's been over 10 years now...still the smartest man in the room." .....or something like that.
In Endgame, where Tony and Cpt America were exiting the military base, they met Howard Stark's limo driver named Jarvis - the Voice Actor for 'Jarvis' in the series!
At the end he refers to Project Goliath...in the new Ant-Man trailer, Lawrence Fishburne's (sic) character mentions a project called Goliath which made him giant like Ant-Man in his movies..i guess Tony Stark's dad worked on it with Hank Pym.
I wonder if Project Exodus has something to do with Exodus from The Comics , who has a fragile psyche and held himself against the combined forces of The Avengers and X-Men at some point . 🤔
Andrew Whitcomb basically it's Howard's imitation of an unlimited power source.. being that the tesseract is the space stone..it's power and potential was and still quite possibly is impossible to replicate..if you notice during avengers when tony gets the avengers brief..he pauses and looks at the tesseract.. because it's very similar radiance..this combined with the audio comparison...if you listen closely..hydras weapons in captain America.. powered by the tesseract..have the same sound as iron man pulse canon and chest blast... coincidence maybe..

TerraEarthera just like the classic dying argghh
it might have been place holder sound effects.
1:46 Energy Sword sound
I found ambient sound "from" Quake1 in a movie about two dozen times. First ever, in Stargate, watery prison scene.
Half of them are explosions. Specifically, "from" the Doom2 final boss exploding.
Nowdays I belive they're not "from" anything: they have to be free libraries, like the famous Willhelm scream (google it),
For those wondering what is "project exodus"....it is the project that was used on deadpool when he fought wolverine in x-men origins Wolverine
I don't think it's ever explicitly stated but I love the theory that Howard Stark's research into a new element was based on trying to recreate an infinite stone. Tony's new element is the first step to something even greater
I think he was trying to replicate the tesseract
Tony downloaded both shields and hydras plans .
Imagine loosing a piece from the expo set because its so old
The King of Marvel. His mind, knowledge, attitude is pretty amazing 😍✨
Project Pegasus was in captain marvel
and The Avengers
so was project goliath in ant man
we will never know what exodus is i guess, its either related to the mutant "exodus" or just the xmen in general, maybe even the f4. I hope they havent forgotten about this project, and will address it in phase 4
SERGIO BACA aww so butthurt.
@SERGIO BACA Nobody cares about your opinion, diphead.
I love Jarvis. It's always good to know that there's someone you can talk to and trust completely.
He re-discovered vibranium which was under wraps at the time. Then they retconned it so now it’s badassium
Thing is though, it's not Vibranium. Vibranium is natural while this 'Starkium' is synthesized. They also have different qualities for the most part since Starkium is based off studies on the Tesseract, hence the glow.
Nope, he pretty much discover how to use the energies from the Tesseract, like Hydra make in the first Captain America and Mar-Vell in Captain Marvel.
like the others said, no its not Vibranium. What he re-discovered is an element based on the structural energy signature of the Space Stone aka Tesseract. Howard wanted to use the same element, but he lacked the technology to reproduce it hence why he tells Tony in his message about it.
It's not vibranium it's the tesseract,
Tesseract cube was made from certain material which can contain huge amount of power in it
Probably some space metal like uru metal fromnwhich thors hammer is made of
Nobody is confused about the fact that he blows dust from the model while 10 seconds before that it was in a r8 with no roof??
This comment makes me happier than it should.
it was only the front piece that may be cleaned from the air.... not the others behind it 😎
@@johnnyxp64 at the speed he was going naahhhhh the back piece would also have been cleaned
Imagine if he needed the dust particles to visualize the new element? Lol
This movie is really good for Tony's character. Everything else, not so much.
The Avatar I know right. I started rewatching some scenes today and I'm like "what the hell why did I dislike this movie again?" And it was just the villain part.
It's fucking Iron man it's fucking Marvel it's great fucking movie bitch.
The Avatar
Kylo Juan
kaziabir1 yo chill
Anyone else feels like this make soooo much more sense?? I always watch the original and think about how quick he discovered the series and tested it and all that, but this shows him actually thinking it and running the simulation and everything

1:20 tony stark foreshadow in avengers end game
No it's not. People need to stop making these ridiculous comments.
NotNero feelin’ SNAPPY today, are we?
The unrealized power of the neosphere
This the coolest scene the entire MCU
Hey, he mentioned Goliath! :D
Michael Lam yeah... i wonder if he got something to do with project goliath... or maybe his dad's work when he was in SHEILD...
hanif ruslan it does, pym and stark worked together for a few years and by extension so did Goliath and ghost's father
He also mentioned Pegasus, the project focused on Captain Marvel's filme.
Phillistines.... I hate these guys.
2:25 that is the gesture of a real genius.
Exhaustion, disbelief of what his mind is currently processing, and that it’s seconds away from being completely true.
The hologram wireframe gives out Shield recharge sound of Masterchief from Halo CE...that's a nice touch
I love how absolutely no one, not even die hard fans understand what element he just “discovered”.
And no you didn’t know either you just googled it rn.
Dead for almost 20 years and still taking me to school. This line should be also said by Peter.
Anyone else hearing the Halo "shield recharge" sound when Jarvis vacuforms the model??
"Thanks Dad..." ❤
Watching Tony work is probably my favorite part of this franchise.
"Go to the store, and bring me everything from proyect pegasus"
Tony Stark confirmed brony.
pegasus, what is gonna do, use the governments secret time travel system to go back and ask his old man about the element?!
Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. is the tesseract thing. They likely cut that from the final film because Tony wasn't supposed to have knowledge of project P.E.G.A.S.U.S.
He also mentions project Goliath, which is mentioned in the latest Antman trailer.
wil fri Captain Marvel!!
Iron man movies show more detective work than batman movies
From rediscovering a new element, to figuring out a time-traveling heist... Stark, my man, I'm gonna miss you. I mean, it was gonna happen sooner or later-I never pretended it wasn't. This was the man who launched the MCU as we know it. He's getting old, and let's face it-NOBODY else could be Tony Stark. That armor was MADE for him.
EXACTLY...
GET READY FOR A MAJOR REMODEL....
Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S.: Research using the Tesseract for FTL travel / teleportation
Project G.O.L.I.A.T.H.: Hank Pym and Bill Foster's research on Pym Particles
Project E.X.O.D.U.S.: ???
according to the comics, Project Exodus was SHIELD's research into Mutants.
This scene lost me. His dad built a blueprint for a, I can't even remember what. But it was Also secretly a design for a new element that Tony just so happens to need in order to survive.
Daddy ex machina.
The element was Vibranium which is rare/unknown outside higher ups in Shield and Wakanda.
Caeruleus Aurum The only synthetic version of vibranium is adamantium, which still isn’t close.
And for everyone who was wondering how Tony snapped so easily, he got practice, that's how.
Been watching so many deleted scenes, and can’t help but felt so disappointed and wondered why they had to deleted all those scenes.
So basically he discovers the Star Trek Omega Particle.
"I think you're gonna be okay kid." awww tony
While I like the addition of testing it on the Mark 6 framework, I can see why they used the existing scene - Jarvis' congratulating him on creating a new element was a nice addition, and Tony's commentary after the new element model was made felt more natural in the existing one.
I can't believe this Great clip deleted/removed from the Movie
It's nice to have an Ai you can order and talk to.
Project Goliath is mentioned in ant man and the wasp
3:26 "I think you're gonna be alright Cap?"
kid*
dats a lot of rasengans in der
patorikku san lmao
patorikku san jdlvkh
patorikku san I never thought about it that way.
patorikku san ǖ
Lmao
I like this version more, since in the original he doesn't color code first to get a better view, he just starts deleting things randomly.
The fact that he specifies everything with a concrete structure says a lot more about the way he's looking at things.
It was nice to see Tony being grateful to someone..especially his dad
why is halo 1 sounds in here? the plasma grenate + shield regen sound
I thought I heard that too
Hackuna MyTatas well it says they coyright the sound in this movie to there
And energy sword
Placeholder sound effects. Since this version scene never made it into the final cut they didn't have the sound team work on it
josbird These are the sounds used in the real scene. The only thing "cut" is the extended part, where he pulls up the Mark 6 suit
project pegaxus is lightspeed airplane basically about tesseract, project goliath more like ant man can transform from small to big, now what is project exodus? is it project include 4 scientist that go to the planet got power and turn into fantastic 4 ?
It was the project where mutants were created
I kind of hope there is a moment like this between Parker and Stark in the future. Like, I think Marvel will end up using "Exodus" as a way to introduce the X-Men, and it would be really cool if Peter was searching Stark files and come across Tony discovering or documenting the studies in relation to Exodus, but never went public about it. And in a way, he teaches Peter about the X-Men and how they came to be. Then Peter make some comment like "It's been over 10 years now...still the smartest man in the room." .....or something like that.
So he drives the model all the way to his house sticking out of his car with the top down, and there's still dust on it....
It's sad that this scene was cut short, but atleast they could have kept the awesome cool computing sound of the holographic simulations.
“I’m iron man “
Love you 3000 times
so here's Goliath project mentioned.
so is PEGASUS in captain marvel
In this scene there is Easter egg for Ant-Man 2 when Tony said project Golia🤔💪
Luis can you tell me specifically what scene? Thanksssss 🙏
Another easter egg... He said "project pegasus" too... Captain Marvel.
Also exodus is something to do with the xmen I think
In Endgame, where Tony and Cpt America were exiting the military base, they met Howard Stark's limo driver named Jarvis - the Voice Actor for 'Jarvis' in the series!
Ah, with the help of the ChatGPT, I think we are at the beginning of the future now
0:37 Halo 1 shield recharge sound effect lol.
The Tony Stark we know and love, working in his engineering lab.😀
At the end he refers to Project Goliath...in the new Ant-Man trailer, Lawrence Fishburne's (sic) character mentions a project called Goliath which made him giant like Ant-Man in his movies..i guess Tony Stark's dad worked on it with Hank Pym.
He mention Project Pegasus... the same project that give Captain Marvel her powers.
Comments are mentioning references that they came back to years later again. It's amazing how well planned out this whole thing is.
a new element is threated like the biggest discovery ever when in theory is just an atom with more protons, i can imagine a new element right now
I wonder if Project Exodus has something to do with Exodus from The Comics , who has a fragile psyche and held himself against the combined forces of The Avengers and X-Men at some point . 🤔
The creation of the new element has to be based off howard Starks brief study of the tesseract
ohhh.nice thinking there.
Raymond Chavez So the new element is from the tesserae?
Andrew Whitcomb basically it's Howard's imitation of an unlimited power source.. being that the tesseract is the space stone..it's power and potential was and still quite possibly is impossible to replicate..if you notice during avengers when tony gets the avengers brief..he pauses and looks at the tesseract.. because it's very similar radiance..this combined with the audio comparison...if you listen closely..hydras weapons in captain America.. powered by the tesseract..have the same sound as iron man pulse canon and chest blast... coincidence maybe..
Tony really does snap a lot Well. More than Thanos.
oh boy
this guy predicted it
Sweeze oops
I love the idea that to "discover an element" you just need to configure neutrons and protons into the right format and that's it
Tony is the kind of kid who would bring the cure for cancer as his middle school biology project
