I’m not a fan of overlapping metal panels. I’ve found that rust transfers, so if one panel begins to rust, it will transfer the rust to the overlapping panel.
After restoring and modifying cars for 54 yrs, I could see this mammoth job coming when u started. Restos like this are cost prohibitive nowadays for most. Especially on the 56 Plymouth. I am not condemming the car , just saying that they do not appeal to most car guys. While I admire all the beautiful work that you are doing here, I would suggest that a modern powertrain be installed like a gen 3 hemi to instill excitement and value to this old girl. A good color/wheels and interior will also make this old timer much more appealing to the boys with "money". Either way, if u wish to keep it, it will be another projecyt that you and Jolene can be very proud of. Thanks and Good Luck bro!
He is selling it for cost, no charge for labor. He will not be painting it or engine swapping, it’s already a good runner. Buyer will have a great base for a project. I find these models are becoming more appealing and are a great first car to get into the hobby without spending a small fortune.
@timstewart1125 280k subscribers on this channel That would work out to less than 30 cents each to donate Small price to pay for us to show appreciation
That price is really fair guys . Hope the new owner will appreciate her and all the work you did . You guys sure are active and glad to see things moving along at your pace as life should be.
I normally sandblast, cut out the worst then reconstruct with fresh metal as long as there is enough weldable meat left. depending how complex the piece is to fabricate I may go with a full build.
Chad & Jolene as long as you are on the Web, I will continue to come back every day. I enjoy every minute regardless of what you two have going on that day. Mike.
Who can ever say anything about bad chad? This man is creative. Awesome fabricator and an inspiration as a 58 year old man pursuing his dream which was a post apocalyptic rat rod all thanks to Chad he does this we had a dream building. Whatever you want you can do. We love you Chad and queen Jolene, you are the best of what you do and you’re an artist.
I sand blast cars... A lot of your cars are really rusty being in the north.. Really makes the difference .. Is this a classic car? I would't spend time restoring anything but a classic.. Great job tho .. I been restoring cars 35 years... Boittnots by far best restoration shop in the World ...His restorations and Airbrush talent like no other.. Excited to see Jolene's Bugati finished...
I have to say guys that Chad is putting a lot of labor labor into this Plymouth but it is worth it. Every surprise find of rust just means your fans get to watch more great repairs done correctly. Its a win win as they say! The floor isn't factory correct but it is done safer than the factory. I would like to see you actually clean and paint this car unless it cuts into Bugatti time lol.
Hi Chad & Jolene, the Plymouth is getting really close to done and I believe it will be well worth the price for somebody. Chad who knew when you started on it that it would have that amount of rust. You have done a great job of eliminating the rust with new metal. As long as it is just driven in the good weather months the car will last for a long time. Jolene great video as always we have been able to learn alot from this project. It has been nice seeing a straight up repair on this car a little variety although I imagine Chad has his creative juices overflowing at this point. Are we hopefully going to get to see more work on your Bugatti? I hope everything is okay with Fina I have not noticed her in the last few videos.
Chad, great repair on the rad support, by the way , that undercoating was called Zeibart , there was another called Tuffcote that I used back in the 70's on a couple of my cars.Back in my younger days, I had a 1955 Dodge Mayfair v-8 two dr, purportedly from Nova Scotia.
Great video. I was thinking to myself which I would have done, weld over or cut it out. You made a good point in that it will not be visible...great choice.
Hello Chad I'm from Australia did many resto mods over the years we used fish oil for hard-to-get hidden places best time like you said is after all welding is done the fish oil capillaries uphill into cavities and dries after many months leaving metal surfaces totally protected from weather and water condensation! Cheers
Nice job on the core support. I'm sure if someone does buy this car for what you're asking they can then do what they like. Chad and Jolene keep up the great work.
This is a clean slate once Chad's done fixing the rust problems . There's so much potential in the car to become something more ! I see a totally modified car with lots of horse power a hoot rod of sorts . Thumbs-up Jolene ❤and Chad and team Hiltz you are allowing sombody to own an operate a car that you worked on speaks volumes on Chad's letting go of builds . I belive he's turning a new leaf in what he wants for himself and what he's willing to let go of . Moving forward I think the content on builds that could possibly be owned by the public is a great idea . It's only an opinion and I know Chad doesn't let go easily so it is strictly a matter of if he needs it or not !
Hi, I think the rust coating your talking about was called 'Zbart' And your right it would turn hard and peel away from metal. Making little cups that would hold dirt water & salt ! Causing body & frame rot.. One more thing ! It would have been better to have soaked rad support in rust remover juice? And left open air. Your repair will cause part to rust ten times quicker,
Always thought repair of an old car was restoration especially if you're cutting out rot and putting in good metal and not just covering the rot like those sills had before
Try 3M cavity spraying it 28 bucks tall can i used on my stang 67 and maverick truck 2022 felt good to stop rust and keep temp sweting from rusting down
Chad sounds like he is responding to haters. Chad, you are great at what you do. I use your examples all the time. To hell with the haters, they probably never worked on a car in their life.
If this car gets wet all this work will quickly be rust again, it will need a serious rust protection system. If there is an easy way I'm in but I could never do this and sleep that night..
Chad and Jolene with you being the best at what you do Chad what is your time worth for just one hour you did not learn every thing you know over night that is worth lots of money love you guys.
I guess another good reason for just covering the rad support was there was still enough structure still there for support. If there had been worse damage you would have had to cut it out.

I still think we should seriously consider having a fundraiser for Doug, so he can purchase this car.
I would like to see them give it to him.

That would work out to less than 30 cents each to donate
Small price to pay for us to show appreciation
I’ll chip in $20
Well it won’t start it self. If you want to start a Gogundme for him then do it.
If Doug really wanted this car, bad Chad and his queen would make it happen !!
Great video and it’s rare for a new owner to be able to see what has been done to repair the car and know what they are buying.
You're doing a great job repairing and explaining what the procedure is. Rock on!
That price is really fair guys . Hope the new owner will appreciate her and all the work you did . You guys sure are active and glad to see things moving along at your pace as life should be.

Buying this car for original price plus materials sounds like a great deal!
I agree, except IMHO they way overpaid for the car.

Great video again showing us the fastest way to repair a rad support so anyone can do this and as always great filming by Jolene ,thanks for sharing

Fina was in the last video.
Enjoy spending an hour everyday learning something new. Need not be afraid to try.
Thank you for the videos.

Nice repair. I used one of your ideas today with the cardboard pattern worked out perfectly.
Great video. I was thinking to myself which I would have done, weld over or cut it out. You made a good point in that it will not be visible...great choice.
My Dad and i we love you each video ❤❤❤❤❤ thats my favorite time share with him.
Great to see the work required to actually fully repair a car. Love the car.

I really enjoy watching your videos, thanks for sharing them with us, have a great week, chad,Jolene,Doug, and Nate. One heck of a team.
It looks good but you just covered the rust without any rust converter. It will continue to rust under the new metal...
Looks amazing man, this turtorial was fun to watch, a nice butterfly fix to save time and money !
I like the sound of your welding 👍

What ever makes you happy and not cost to much is the best
Thanks for sharing this awesome project with us, Chad and Joline ! 😊👍🏻
Good stuff Chadley! Love how you give your reasoning for your repair paths
Practical craftsmanship one can appreciate. Also, nice teamwork, you two.
Thanks Chad and Jolene! You dont need to justify to the haters it gets old fast if they dont like what you do they can just not watch, just do you !
Nicely done keep up the great work 👍. What ever happened to Adien haven't seen him in months and you never said why he's not around anymore.
That’s the best way to explain it. What’s ur goal… Repair or Restore !
Try 3M cavity spraying it 28 bucks tall can i used on my stang 67 and maverick truck 2022 felt good to stop rust and keep temp sweting from rusting down
63 here. Never too old to learn. Thanks B.C.
Trashcan 🗑 Approved
I know it's late but I just want to say hi to you and Jolene and have a blessed night
You always do excellent work Chad! I'll hire you to fix the cross member in my Gmc 😊
Good job Chad, like seeing you do the restoration work, excellent 👏🏻💯
Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with us.
Love to watching you working. Thank's
Rad support looks good!!! Remember it's not a show car but a good driver!!!
Well done guys 👍 Simple and quick ☑
Another repair item to do. Chad continues to innovate.
I think you and Jolene do awesome job really love watching way to go guy and gal

You be basically remade the intire car and a fine Jobe you have done and faster than anyone pretty incredible
Chad and Jolene with you being the best at what you do Chad what is your time worth for just one hour you did not learn every thing you know over night that is worth lots of money love you guys.
Every Day Chad and Jolene your show is the best.
I like using rust stopper. oxidation of the metal turns it black. Stops it from rusting. Or it least slows it down. Then paint& undercoat.
If someone buys this car they really should look at these videos to really appreciate what they got.😊
I agree with everything you said tonight. There's too much criticism in this world today.
Makes sense repair to keep going !
I liked this repair for get it on road as daily driver looking good !
Doing a good job on it and I’m a big fan of urs
Zebart was the rust proofing from 70,s era
Great repair on the rad. support. Just as I would have done it on this car.
You can tell Chad is passionate about his work (and Jolene)!😂
Hi Chad - Enjoying the video also are you making any progress on the Doodabug Bugotte hauler.
All the work you are putting into it,it will last a long time especially since you put a whole new floor.
Would love to have this car when it’s completed.
The core support got real rusty.
Nice work Chad!
Can you please tell me we're you get your sanding disk and backing for your grinder thanks if you would
Very nice job Chad and Jolene Look great
Maybe it would have been quicker if you took the the body off and frame out at the beginning for a sand blast. Maybe it would have saved time.
Nice job on the car
Yes many ways to do things , all that counts is are you , happy and does it work. Lol😊
Late but here working on my rv
Was that undercoating called Ziebart?
I guess another good reason for just covering the rad support was there was still enough structure still there for support. If there had been worse damage you would have had to cut it out.
Good job Chad! 👍
Let's get Doug this car👍💯
Why don,t you rust treat the metal before covering it up with fresh metal, Or even remove it ?? Big fan of the channel
If I didn't live in Texas I would sure as heck buy that car.
Sei grande Chad bellissimo lavoro ciao
I like how the metal is like putty u form it so easy.
Awesome, Thanks
After all this work, we should just keep it...
And restore it . 🤨👍🏻
Great video thank you.
I meant to say do not forget Fina
Nothing wrong with that repair chad 👍
Yup, Jolene is good gal !
Nice Job
Missed the live today. =(
BAD CHAD

QUEEN JOLENES WAY
4 HAPPY JOLENE HAPPIEST BAD CHAD
Thanks for the show great job
What a job you do
Looks great 👍
67. Year old. Car. Looks. Very. Good. Thanks
Do they make a bigger square stock you could use to replace the corroded piece
What wire size do you use typically?
Covering rust doesn't make it go away its still rusting under the patch
Go for it Chad 👁 🐅 👍
