Hello wade! Nice videos! Could you do a comparison between the outfiting of the diferents kayak brands? If you have done it, i couldnt find the video. Could you post the link?
I have both of these boats in size large. I’m 6-4” size 12 feet, 34 inch inseam, 205#. Both of these boats are tricky to fit into with the Antix most difficult. On the Rewind I have the foot block on the last hole and very thin pads on it. The antix required removing the front pillar and reworking it to move 2 inches forward. The trim the foot plates a little. Thin the pillar for your heels to come together to get the foot room, and very thin foam on the foot plate. As Wade says, both of these boats are great, tho different. I would add that the large Antix is a very playful dynamic boat compared to the rewind. I hope this info can help some other tall person. There is so little out there to help us folks who are outsized for WW boats.
Your comments mirror other reviews about the river/play vs play/river. Personally I'm fairly green and prefer class 2+ or 3- right now but I'd like to progress. I'm 210 lb in a Diesel 80 so not the most playful boat. I'm looking to get into a more playful boat and Antix 2.0 and Rewind are the contenders. I've been told the Antix will be more forgiving and fun and the Rewind will demand better technique. I'd like to think I'll keep the Diesel and but my normal runs are all about stopping at play features so I doubt I would opt for the Diesel once I have the new boat. Any recommendations given that background on which one to buy? I was going to put money down on an Antix but thought I'd better try first - problem is I'm in Canada and the snow is already here.
The medium rewind would be little less forgiving at your weight your in that area I use to be in where your on the large side of medium and small side of large but the large rewind is a totally different boat it’s close to 10’ in length and is super quick down River with less play and will take care you better I have not seen the large antix 2.0 I will tell you that you will not like the antix 2.0 medium at your weight that boat runs small I’m 175lb and feel like it’s perfect but any heavier I would go large the rewind medium would carry you but would be less forgiving
@@WadeHarrison So true I know all about being in between recommended weight ranges. On that front yes the Rewind I'm big for the medium so chances are it will be even less forgiving and I won't get the play benefits if I'm too small in the large. It seemed to me on the web that I fall perfectly in the mid-upper range of the Antix so that's another reason to get the Antix. Thanks for pointing that out. I'm primarily changing boats to get a more playful boat that the big ol' diesel.
Nice video. I been paddling a dagger katana for a while and been looking for something more playful. I’m so torn between the rewind, antix, and ripper.
@@WadeHarrison I actually just snagged a large antix 2.0 in royal. Sat in a rewind too which I actually found a little bit more comfortable (I have long legs so I have a bit of adjusting to do in the antix) but still went with it since its shorter and lighter. I like daggers outfitting the best but that alone wasn't a deciding factor.
It's not suitable for every creek, but the antix just makes some of them a lot more fun. Especially on runs that have a very steep hike out.... the 37 lbs antix is much more preferable to a 50 lbs full creeker.
I'm going to disagree with you there both these boats smoke the outdated axiom. The lack of bow volume and rocker makes running harder whitewater in that boat difficult and boat have better preforming stern squirts the Antix 2.0 is unreal. I can no paddle Clean squirt that tail is so small and short.
I used to own an axiom, and have both the rewind, and the antix 2.0 currently. I feel the antix is the best of the 3 personally, and surprisingly the easiest to paddle. The rewind is much more comfortable, and I'd rather take it on longer runs. I second Wade's thoughts on the antix's edges. I've basically shaved them down a bit with flares off rocks. You will feel the clipping. The rewind is noticeably faster and better suited for shallower environments (it would replace the 9r if it had a fuller tail). I would trust the antix much more on harder runs though. The ease of paddling it gives you a feeling of confidence, but it also makes you overconfident sometimes. 🤣 Overall, if you had to pick one.... go antix 2.0. The original axiom, maybe if there was a long fast glassy wave somewhere.... maybe. There rewind and antix 2 are just in a different class. Leave the axiom behind.
@@pharma37 the rewind and the antix might be better but for a 14 year old in this courant time the prices are a bit steep besides I live I Kenya so then there is shipping but I realy want he rewind or a ripper thx though

Thanks for the feedback Eric!
I'm 6'2, 200lbs, but can be 180lbs in summer. Would you recommend med or large boat?
@@ryanwilson8629 large absolutely.
The specs on the med say 140-220, large is 180-260. Weight range I would be better in med, but I suppose leg room would be an issue.
Thank you, very helpful.
Your welcome
Great comparison Sir, which one do you think has the better outfitting?
Check the video on the nirvana I went through the Jackson outfitting I like it but dagger is pretty much leading the way on outfitting to me.
@@WadeHarrison 👍
Which ones faster? Im guessing the rewind because of its length but you mentioned that the antix has harder edges.
Yes rewinds by long shot
Sweet vid, best comparison ive seen. What about vs a ripper?
I might do a ripper comparison at some point.
@@WadeHarrison Sweet!

Tennessee man bun 😂😂
That seriously just popped in my head when talking about it and when editing i laughed out loud at that one!😂😂😎
Wade Harrison same here dude😆 Enjoy watching your footage man. It has really helped me to progress on the rivers here in WNC. Keep them coming!
OK Wade,
Rewind or the new Sweet Ride. Same type of running down the river.
Flare boof friendly? Or not.
Rewind has more play off the tail the sweet ride is closer to something like the steeze more river runner then halfslice but more forgiving.

@@aws15u2 Antix is more playful but the rewind is better all round
Why would you use either one for creeking anyway? (unless your initials are DJ) Why not just use your creek boat for creeking and get the Antix?
Not a bad idea full creeker and a more playful down river half slice i get were your coming from...

@@pharma37 The Antix??? We're talking about the Remix.
@@powskier
Are you sure?
@@pharma37 Yes, if you wanted just one boat, the Remix would be it. A much more capable river runner. I wouldn't take the Antix down class V.
