Just picked mine up last week at AQ. Had it out one day so far on the Kan. Surfs like a dream! Been paddling a Tutea for the past season and it was a learning curve, definitely has made me a better paddler. I think this boat is going to make me a better paddler also but in a whole different way. The forgiving nature is going to help me feel confident to try new tricks. Can't wait to figure out how to stern squirt and do full 360s on the surf waves.

So stoked to hear you are enjoying your Antix 2.0. It is such a fun rig. Check out the blog post below for help with learning to spin!

Great overview. I’m trying to decide what boat to get for next season if I stay with WW paddling (mainly a sea kayaker). The more I research, the more this looks like a leading contender. I also like that it’s lighter, so the logistics are easier. I doubt I’ll get to fancy tricks, but surfing waves is something I want to get good at. The Rewind comparison was super useful. Thanks.

I demoed a large Antix 2.0 and a medium Rewind yesterday, and feel your assessments are spot on. I have been paddling a 2nd generation 4 Fun for about 70% of my paddling and feel the Antix 2.0 is closer to the 4 Fun than it is the rewind. The Antix is obviously faster than the 4 Fun, boofs much better and is easier to keep the bow up, but the overall feel is pretty similar. The Rewind feels totally different to me, and requires more work to paddle. Part of that could be do to the size of the boats the Large Anitx is 76 gallons the Med Rewind 67, I sat lower in the water in the rewind. Also I'm 195#s kitted, so that puts me right in the middle of the recommended weight range for the Antix, but closer to the top of the Rewind, but well with in its range. Anyway, plan on coming home with a new Antix today.

Thanks so much for the input. So nice to get context from other paddlers.. much appreciated.

I'm deciding between a 4Fun and an Antix for my first boat... have kayaked before on an old piranha slicy boat (not sure model). Want something I can play in but will be fine as a river runner. Any thoughts given you've ridden both? Thanks!

@@geofftaylor3563 Hi Geoff. If money and boat availability are not a concern my personal.preference would be 100% the antix 2.0. Has all the good parts of the fun with so many more positives.. speed, stability and versatility being the main ones that come to mind.
Now, if your goal is to simply learn to cartwheel the Fun would be better. As an all round 'catch all whitewater rig, the Antix wins hands down (imho)
      Hope that helps
      Simon

@@AQOutdoors Thanks for the reply. Yea that's my dilemma. I am wondering if I will find the Antix playful enough given my height and weight. I am 6'4 and 180.. so height means I need the L but my weight is probably better for throwing around the M.

@@geofftaylor3563 that's is a good point. For playboatong then the 4 fun would be a better option. River running capability is good, just not nearly as good as the Antix. My gut says the 4Fun might be the way to go. Antix for sure for harder river running but 4 Fun for freestyle and down river play.

Im shopping around for my first white water kayak been using a Elise shoel 100ne kayak a pelican clone on up to class 2/3 water. Want to play in the rapids/surf and progress into class 3/4 eventual. Im also having to keep up with 12 foot touring boats my friends use so was looking at stratos 12.5l , stinger xp and some the 10foot crossovers. Even the 12r and these river runner playboat are an option. Mostly run rivers up to class 2 maybe bigger with some open water lake adventures. Often 6 hours or more in a typical outing and our group would like to get into multi day camping trips. Could get a 12r for 1000$ on sale Canadian though im not sure if it would be worth it over a more specialized boat

Thanks for checking out the video. I think realistically if you are planning on paddling Class III/IV then 10 feet is as long as you want to go. Pyranha Fusion would work, my pick would however be the Dagger Katana 10.4. If you could find a Jackson Karma Traverse 10 that would also be a good option

@@AQOutdoors douse the katana push water a lot? was reading the remix xp10 pushes water in flat water and has a hard time keeping up with an axis which a friend of mine has. Personally didn't like it myself though. Would be awesome do make a battle of the crossovers many don't feature all the boats in the market and most are paid for advertisements from dagger there $300+ more than there competitors. Such a hard choice run a jack of all master of non crossover or buy two boats. Paying double the price

@@Rockerrobin we do have demos of the Katana available.. both in Edmonton and Calgary.
The Katana is pretty similar in speed to the shorter Axis, the 12' Axis is quite a lot faster..
Would love to chat more info at some point if you are keen.

Ha ha. Happy to humor you. Definitely an amazing upgrade. Has speed, playfulness and stability that the Big EZ definitely lacks.
