You all are talking too much over the bars. Pete and Bas write their own lyrics. why is that so hard to believe? I am an older man, and I can rap. Been following Hip-Hop here in America since the seventies, WAY BEFORE any of you all were born. Besides, many of the pioneers from the golden era of Hip-Hop are in their 50s and 60s now, so being in your seventies IS NOT much of a stretch. Never underestimate us. We have the keys to the game as well as the cheat codes.

I saw that still they said they write but get help on the slang from there grandkids but they got the chatter cos there oldskool cockneys with the gift of the gab or something along them lines

You know how Bas does that flow? It's his experience playing piano AND trumpet. Bas said in an interview he can play wind instruments and piano. That's how he's crazy hitting every beat and has lungs for days. This man can probably read sheet music. He knows how to write music. And he's been doing it for 70 years. He's basically just playing the keys with his words.
There is no reason why they would not be able to write their own bars. I'm 51 and can write bars. It aint rocket science. Its just having an understanding of the English language and having a 70 year frame of reference mixed in with an older knowledge of slang than most kids.
I honestly don't know why people think just because they are older they can't write their own bars. Rap is just poetry set to a beat and there is no age limit to musicality or poetry.
No way these lads know what the raas a nank is as well as copious amounts of words including bunda so they have to at least have a decent amount of help.
@@Unknown-kh9ug Why not? They have grandkids who listen to this and they have stated multiple times that the grandkids help them with new slang. But it doesn't take a genius to work it out when you hear it. I had never heard of a nank but when I first heard I was able to understand it straight away. I would posit that they have more slang that you havent heard of than the other way round.
they did write their bars go onto the spotify version of the song and check the credits it's only them two, on some of their own previous songs they have credited other people but on this one it is only crediting them

it's Enya - Boadicea but yes Fugees - Ready or Not also used a sample from this Enya song too .... but so did about 20-30 other hip hop and R&B songs. That whole Enya Album was amazing, why it's sampled so much.

@@e55ex36 I've seen them live to and just like most artists they mime live the tall one even stopped moving his mouth for like 15 seconds, far bigger artists also mime its common practice not many artists really perform live, they will even mine to a live performance to make it seem more realistic. I've also met President T he told me himself its him and Discarda and that it was Discardas idea. So...
There is actual footage of them performing live in a club when they first came on the scene. Ffs
