Get common sense the whole point behind having multiple engine options from v6 - v8 is to appeal to a large demo vs a smaller demo where you won’t make as much money/sales
@Mike Haggar Prius is front wheel drive. Some people don't like that. The V8 models are nice but not worth the huge price difference for normal freeway and cross country commutes.
Hey mike used prius 5 grand or so with under 100k miles. 47 mph. 400 Miles on one tank. Makes sense. And im a challenger owner. Just saying. I certainly wouldnt talk shit about someone driving a prius.
Got this same model/color this week for a great deal, with under 20k miles. Insurance only went up 50 bucks to boot! Everything he says about this car is spot on. When you sit in this thing and close the doors it really feels solid. Was also really surprised by how well it handles around corners. It accelerates surprisingly fast for having a V6, 300HP is nothing to shrug at. I was considering getting a V8 with the higher payment but I am glad I didn't. This car doesn't need it, unless you really feel the need to race daily drivers.
Lol that's what I'm saying I guess people just want to get tickets for speeding. I'll rather get a v6 even if you do get a v8 other v8s will beat you because of the challengers weight.
I've had THREE Hemi Charger's and they were nice of course with the power of the V8 but after awhile, you really don't get to use that power often. Plus they're gas guzzlers! lol
I love my v6 challenger, looks great and drives great. I've had mine for 2 years it is very annoying to hear people always say you should have gotten a v8... blah blah blah. I'm sorry what do you drive? and ummm do you pay my bills? to get it out of manual mode all you have to do is hold the shift nob to the right for a few seconds in drive
I own a 2011 challenger v6 and must say that after 4k rpm this thing comes alive. The best thing about this car is the tribute to reto. A beautiful car that will piss all over your bushes in your neighboors yard. V6 is crazy in that it will do 15 sec plus in the quarter mile. Driving around there does not seem to be many around. There are alot of cameros, which i love but the cool thinng is that you are uniqe in that thier is not allot of challegers lurking around.
ive got a 2014 v6 challenger and i LOVE it. 305hp? rwd? MUSCLE CAR yes i well never not love getting in my challenger, more than enough power, can easily do burnouts all day lol
You are NOT stuck in manual mode once you put it there. To get out of manual mode push the gear shift to either the right or left (+ or -) and hold it for a few seconds it will switch back to automatic mode.
To your comment about "Im not a drug dealer" NO drug dealer that ive ever seen with my two eyes has driven a muscle car, theyre always beat up shitty ricers or stupid cheesy tacky huge rimmed caddys and BMW's. Not a dealers car man.
you really need to get over the whole drug dealer thing. People are staring at you because it's a sexy car. Being a WRX owner you're only use to being looked at by young 20 year old males in tight tee shirts and sun glasses. Now normal people are taking notice of your car. This is a good thing... NO ONE, I say again, NO ONE, is nervous or intimidated, or thinks that you are are a thug...
To everyone bashing the V6 Challenger...I own a 2015 V6 it's fast...handles great and on top of all that I get 30 miles to the gallon!! 305+ horses with a modified cold air intake system and Solo Performances Mach X exhaust system and I have all of the muscle I need. No it's not the 392 but hey I'm satisfied and everyone turns their heads points and gives me a thumbs up when I pull up...it's a real attention grabber!! If you want the car get it!! Just because it's a V6 doesn't mean it's a pushover it's hella mean and great on gas!! If recommend it to anyone who wants one but can't afford the Hemi!!
The Challenger has always been a dream car of mine, even when I was still in elementary school. This is because I saw in person one of those old Challenger R/Ts at a car meet when I was around 10. I am now 17 about to turn 18 in January and I am choosing between getting a Mini Cooper or a Challenger. Mini great with gas, but small as balls. Challenger is good enough with gas, but is heavy. I am leaning to the Challenger because it just screams asshole, which is what I am almost all the time.
Just bought one of these. This car is amazing, especially when driven in sport mode, it alters the shift pattern keeping the engine in the best power band . And no, it doesn't HAVE to stay in manual mode. Simply hold the gear shift to the RIGHT for 2 seconds and it will go back to drive.
I have this exact car on blackberry color (dark blue) for 2 years and this review really captures the truth. Previously I had a Charger R/T but the V6 for a long commute stands well, average 200 USD less on insurance and 10-20% better fuel efficiency. And if you need power just step Strong and it will come after 3k rpm!
Would LOVE to see you review a Dodge Charger! Not the 2015 model, but like a 2011-2014 would be awesome. Very menacing looking vehicle, not as heavy and huge as a Challenger. Kind of a nice mix of muscle and speed with daily driver qualities.
If you have this body style, get a tune put into it. It makes a HUGE difference. I have a 2010 v6 model with Flowmaster exhaust, CAI, and a tune. 295 hp, 275 torque with 91 octane tune. 93 tune is 3 more hp and torque
I got a Challenger over the Camero and Mustang.... The challenger is way more comfortable than the Camero and Mustang. I have a hour commute one way. So being comfortable was the biggest factor in my purchase. The V6 aren't bad. The V6 has more power than some of the V8 Mustangs and Cameros that were made 6 or 7 years ago.
Plus the fact you can get one new at $26k compared to anything else in this price range - the Challenger destroys! I don't think you can beat this car. New Camaros are nice, but it really does look like a tank inside - harder to drive, and weak on power unless you have $72k for a new Z28 model.
I'm looking to buy one as a project car, and i like how it look and i have always been a fan of muscle cars when i was a kid and still love them to this day XD
Regarding the manual mode comment at 9:40, there is a way to get it out of it once it is in it, you have to hold down the "+" paddle or hold the shifter to the "+" side for a few seconds and it goes back into drive. I have a charger r/t and I also didn't know how to get it out of manual mode, but I eventually found out that was how to do it after some playing around. Nice review though, you should try and get your hands on any of the v8 models maybe even the hellcat later on if you ever get the chance. :)
I presently own a 04 MCSS, 14 Challenger SXT Plus 100th Ann., 19 Camaro 1LT Turbo and 21 Mustang ecoboost. Although my favorite is the MCSS, the Challenger is the best daily driver over the Camaro and Mustang. My Challenger is dropped on H&R springs, wears the SRT front splitter and Voxx Demon wheels. Love the car. If I want sporty I drive the Camaro 6M. If I want fast I drive the ecoboost (13.1 in the 1320). The best built car is probably the Mustang. Also own a 06 Jeep for bad weather :)
Just got this car. And YOU CAN take it off manual mode during driving. With the stick You have to hold the up shift for a few seconds and it'll go back to automatic.
You can cancel the manual mode without putting the car in park. While youre driving just hold the shifter to the right for 1 sec and itll go back to automatic.
My neighbor drives a (leased 2012) R/T & he's one mean muscle dude. Never talks to anyone. He babies the car, never drives in rain, or cloudy days.. Challengers are cool for sure but I love Mustangs.
I recently ended up buying a Challenger R/T after being on the fence between the 3 muscle cars. this review although it being a v-6 you reviewed helped me consider buying my r/t Chally. Ty Broski
Manual Mode Tip- To get out of manual mode, hold upshift for a second until it switches back into Drive. Or, shift into neutral, and back into drive, that will work too. Your not 'stuck' in manual mode lol
Actually, if you hold the shifter to the right (+ side) or the right paddle for about 2 seconds, it will return to automatic transmission. I would only do that at a stop light/sign, though, just avoid any rough shifting, etc. Check your owner's manual.
I own a mustang GT 2012, but the Challenger will always be the best looking of the recent muscle cars IMO, and yes more confortable. I chose the mustang GT for raw power and better roadhandling, but the SRT-8 tempted me A LOT! V6 no thanks tho
The V6 Challenger has been a great vehicle, unfortunately a tree fell on it, and our house we are watching this review again because we are planning to replace it with a newer used Challenger V6. Many people say get a front wheel drive prius or some other shit box, but after seeing how well this challenger handled this tree falling on it, if anyone had been in it they would have survived. I will get my daughter another one, they are tough cars.
I test drove both the 5 speed and the 8 speed and by far, the 5 speed is way more fun to drive and has much better driving characteristics than the 8 speed which I did NOT like at all.
You didnt sugar coat it like other reviewers who obviously do their reviews based on their favorite make. I love challengers and i heard what i wanted to hear. This v6 is the best for me since i care little about going fast and i live in the city where theres a stop light every block. I just want a nice ride to get me from a to be in style. Good job
I have had two Challengers. They are well built. My 2010 had over 40,000 miles on the V-6. My new 2014 is an R/T with a 6 speed. Wow, what a difference. The V-8 is awesome with tons of torque and raw power. It is like riding a bull the first time I drove it off the lot. It sounds mean too with plenty of horsepower to back it up. Kudos to Chrysler for building such a bad ass car!
LakeNipissing This might sound hypocritical of me bu the full width taillights are starting to grow on me. I will say this, the 2015's interior is leaps and bounds better than the 2014's.
Good review, never watch your channel but very thorough and helpful. Off topic, you look like you could be Kate McKinnon's (SNL) brother, it's uncanny!
Another great, enjoyable review! I agree with another subscriber who said to take your time on cranking out the videos like you have been. I think your subscribers are loyal and will give you the time you need. Hope you feel better soon!
10:21 i rented a 2022 Charger sedan and felt the same way, big car feeling but damn its a comfortable car and plenty of power to get going. Drove the canyon roads of Malibu and even handled nice, didnt feel brave enough to push it though
I've driven one. One word, surprising. They're surprising, all around. I drove a 3.6 . Powered by the pentistar I figured this yacht would feel like driving a 3/4 ton truck with a 4 cylinder(not that such a thing exists). Not at all, power is there, it's a smooth ride, and to spite being enormous the car feels no larger then the mustang to drive, the windows are well placed. Now one word for the camaro, awkward.
Nice review, you should do reviews of the newer models. The two bodies was funny, but the not knowing how to switch back into automatic kind of put me on edge. But keep it up your reviews are pretty good
regarding the manual mode. in my 2014 challenger it is working. once i'm in manual mode i just shift up to the 5th gear and than shift up once more and your back in automatic mode. just discovered that today and thought that would be a nice thing to share.
My insurance provided me with this car due to flood damage to my Mercedes and i must admit i didn’t expect it to be that quick for how big it is it surprised me
i rented a red 2016 v6 challenger from Hertz.. it was beautiful and got TONS of looks and stares. i enjoyed it very much although it was awkward hearing that v6 under a muscle car hood haha
To go back from manual mode to auto you have to hold the shifter to - downshift for certain amount of seconds maybe two or three and boom you are on auto mode again
Dude my 2019 carves the streets up. I kick the back in out in corners and it doesn’t lose it. The 2019 has a torque flight 8 speed and its fucking awsome.

I'm pretty sure the 2011 and up challengers V6 were up to 305 HP vs the old V6 standards of 200+ HP
Only watched a couple of your vids so far but you do a nice job. Very well done. Subbed
Hope your days are getting better, love the review :))
You can take it out of manual by throwing it into neutral and right back to automatic
Great Job! Your Review Shined A lot Of Light To My Knowledge......
Great video!!! NICE car as well!!!
One of my dream cars
needs 392 hemi engine swap
Always great reviews! Would really like you to review a 2011+ Kia Optima SX turbo in the near future.
First time watching this video and I had a serious thought process going on before you hit me the 2 bodies 😂😂😂
You should of waited for the reveal of the 2015 model to see if you liked it since they had a mid-cycle refresh.
I saw the 2015s and went out and bought a 2014 thank you.
Everdayvideos I think the full-width horizontal tail light of the pre-2015 looks way better than the new lights.
Today Im getting my 2011 in 2020. Its like new and looks identical to this one. Thanks for all the info
How much did you get it for?
Re-visiting this review and love it!
Nice review, you should do reviews of the newer models. The two bodies was funny, but the not knowing how to switch back into automatic kind of put me on edge. But keep it up your reviews are pretty good
regarding the manual mode. in my 2014 challenger it is working. once i'm in manual mode i just shift up to the 5th gear and than shift up once more and your back in automatic mode. just discovered that today and thought that would be a nice thing to share.
im like 5'5 i want this car but my forehead would barely get over the dash
+jax teller I'm fairly certain you can lift the seat up high enough to see the road, thats what i'm doing with my Charger. Btw i'm also 5'5 :)
+Roadrage158 well this changes everything!!
+jax teller yeah i have one and my dad is around 5'6 and he could see just fine it has an option of raising the seat
booster seat
nah im 5'4 and i reach great i have a 2012 challenger
My insurance provided me with this car due to flood damage to my Mercedes and i must admit i didn’t expect it to be that quick for how big it is it surprised me
i really like ur reviews, keep it up!
I really like the looks of the car, and keep your head up I hope things are going well for you.
i rented a red 2016 v6 challenger from Hertz.. it was beautiful and got TONS of looks and stares. i enjoyed it very much although it was awkward hearing that v6 under a muscle car hood haha
Great review dude!
Quick note for those of you looking at this car. If you hold the shift up it will put it back into automatic.
