When you have a bad habit of doing something it don't end just because someone told you not to do it. You have to consciously do it the right way until it becomes a good habit.
I used to work on some things every day in practice but in the game under pressure I would have to talk to myself to keep from going back to bad habits. We trust our bad habits even if we know it's not the best option.

If they don’t fall for the first pump, they probably wont fall for it if you do it again so just shoot it

sounds easier than it is against my friend who is 20 cm taller and never has to jump for a block and therefore can recover easily

Just FYI the tall dude isn't going to strip u after the pump fake layup. I know bc I do this shit all the time cs the bigs. They are in the air or coming down and as long as ball is around waist lvl ur good

Depends if they have a good wingspan. But beyond this drill, as a short player you just wanna draw as many fouls as you can. So you want your shoulder to touch their chest and then use your hand furthest away from the basket to his a hookshot. You're either going to make it and get the and 1 or get 2 free throws.
Is there another move that works on taller defenders than step through because the refs in my games call it a travel
Jab step to the right to avoid being called as travel you should dribble first before you move the pivot foot in this case dribble then release pivot foot,hopes this helps
