In todays video we bring in special guest Coach DJ Shaw to break down finishing over taller defenders! These moves can truly help you finish at the rim regardless of how tall you are. Some of the smallest guards out there have mastered these moves to get buckets no matter what. Think of guys like Isaiah Thomas, Steve Nash, and Kyrie Irving. These are moves that can elevate your scoring average by at least 6 points a game!

Just got blocked so hard in practice that I had to watch this lol
Try learning spin layups not 36os and stuff like that but like spinning the ball around like a windmill but facing the rim so just spin it around and then get the shot off
D Rose used to do this very often
Azneee 420 up and under?
@@thereason7860 kinda like the defender is on your hips when you are driving. You plant your inside foot after that outside step so you do a one two stop. At the same time, you bring that inside hand to fake the layup and the defender will surely jump. When he does, you will use that inside foot to pivot and float it up. If the defender doesn’t jump, you can pass the ball easily since you’re stable or you can pump fake/step through
@@GrayMinemanLOL thanks D rose
I've been playing ball for 20+ years and I've only grown 6 feet tall. Get use to floaters, off foot instant gather layups, and all types of acrobatic finishes if you really want to attack bigs at the cup. I was fortunate enough to become a lights out mid and long range shooter, so i don't have to get killed bumping into bigs at the hoop as much.
king Dione Allen Iverson height.
At 5'9 what I wouldn't give for that 6' of hight... Gotta have good hops is all I can say
@@Mattomeo15 at 5'3 what I wouldn't give for both those things
@N cM I’m 4’4” god I wish I was 5’3”
@@joecaptain3 how old? You'll grow, I'm nearing my "second growth spurt" so yeah.
This video: The Raymond Felton scoring kit
Raymond Felton is the GOAT
I’m 5’11 and going to be a freshman and there’s this guy named Manny Akot who’s 6’8 Senior who plays Varsity and is always blocking tf outta me😂💀
Nothing you can really do unless you have incredible athleticism 😂
You can improve your positioning and decision making -- just don't shoot it if he can block it.
@@dontreach9431 true that, he almost got a foot on you, just practice your shots outta the paint and you’d be good
When your a 5‘7" guy who keeps getting triple teamed in the paint by 6 footers
Being 5’7 is a struggle man
@@ren6726 *blessing
@@SAVMONEY97 how?
LoL that’s me. Eventually i just kept attacking, was blocked a few times but they could not block me every shot
Floater over the back board, my go-to move over a tall player, works everytime
Mic 003 wait how do u do that
@@LukeYoussef Practice it, that was your used to putting arc on your floaters.
First one is overly complicated relative to its actual utility. Second one won't stop you getting blocked. Third one is good.
Honestly the easiest way to finish over taller defenders is to bump off, then release, keeping your body between the ball and the big. Floaters are nice but they're hard to pull off often because most people drive at an angle to protect the ball.
The third one works if they are not 7 foot with super wing span lol
Great job Fellas!!! The boombox is my fave!
How to finish over double defense and how to protect the ball when you driving and some tips when to attack and please do this about this viedo
Andrew Yil make sure to shield the ball, by keeping the ball tucked close to your body.
You can drop your shoulder in to a defender, then create contact as you begin the jump to delay the defenders reaction and get to the basket
Andrew Yil pass that bitch
Andrew Yil or you could pass
Oscar lmao this made me laugh so hard XD
Off arm is the key
Thank you so much. This kid at school is so annoying when it comes to rebounds and defence. And these tips have helped so much. Thanks god bless 👍

Nice vid! This will definitely help me out
Loved the video, awesome tips
The best move I have found is a scoop layup 1 because it draws lots of contact and 2 because it’s less likely for them to block it
Fantastic! I wanna know more of the moves like that
Excellent video! Can't wait to practice these skills
YURRR. Good vius. Make a vid on how your practice can translate to game

Help me alot
This help me thx
Im blocking that shoulder dip move all day ✋🤚🏀
Coach not really relevant to the video but I have a question on my shot.
Whenever I shoot I always think of shooting with my index and middle finger and I also feel like I am doing so. But then in a video my friend shot, I saw that I actually use my index(last touch). The question is should I risk to change my mindset on thinking on my index or just leave my mindset to the 2finger release?
Can you do the same video again, but with a regular jump shot, instead of a layup?
thank you i take 2 moves keep help us God we'll help u back
