    This is like spending a fortune having your room replastered, then covering it in woodchip wallpaper.

    That looks awsome.
    I'm giving it a go myself for the first time making a compass slab for my uncle's house to go in the yard.
    I never realized that you could just use plastic mesh one hour after twisting up a bunch of wire😂
    Making stuff is fun😅

    The concrete needs to be looser and will pour better with less screeding. Looks good tho

    Say more about Artex...why? Just to color match? How does it impact the strength, durability, etc

  • @Sherrylearnsart

    We did this and we are ripping them out. The sealer doesn’t hold up and they are a nightmare with stains. Yes I followed directions . They just are not practical unless no one actually uses your kitchen.

    Z forms are trash. I use regular lumber wrapped in packing tape with silicone caulking in the corners, 3000 psi cement only mix (different than concrete) with pea gravel and 2% liquid calcium chloride. After thousands of sqft of countertops this is by far the best method i have found

    • @mobaumeister2732
      @mobaumeister2732 3 месяца назад

      If you’re using it as a kitchen counter, ardex will look rubbish in no time as it doesn’t have the hardness of microcement. Microcement is a polymer based product, kind of like a mix of resin and cement.

      It sure poured out of that bucket they weren’t placing it with there hands or any tools. I hate when I was in the union and they would correct that term not even true masons say placing concrete because no one actually grabs the concrete and places it we throw it and pour it.
