Very interesting radio. Many thanks for that.

I presume the reason for the ability to go down to 26MHz was either to be compatible with the Philips RT3600 / 4600 or Denmark actively uses that portion of the band.

I didn’t know this radio. This lcd makes it look much more modern although the ancestor radio was already really good

It's amazing but: have low power of just 2W (worst then handheld) + they are using batteries like on PRC-77 so forget about using modern BB-2590.
With LCD and pre-program channels it's much better than PRC-77 - especially You got this extra upper HF :>

The 16 W HF amplifier board kitted by Kees Talen US would be able to cover mosf of the OP of this radio but of course the antenna tuner sits before the amp.. This radio would be FM so carrier detect would work for shifting into RF tx mode. ONly HF amps that use RD16HH or RD15 mosfet amps will work at these frequencies. THe output would only be 10 W at 52 Mhz. - that's a function of the output transformer and the mosfets used. THis amplifier is no longer in production but might be found second hand on Eham. HF amps that use the likes of IRF530 are the work of the devil and won't work at these frequencies.

The call light should light when receiving, that is how the call light works on US military radios.

@@ElectronicNoobBlog If it is a Danish model, it wont light up unless connected to a special powesupply unit via cables.
