I so appreciate the vulnerability and authenticity of Aaron and Erwin. I relate to much of Aaron’s feelings and behaviors, so I love getting the “therapy” as well. Thanks for consistently showing up for the conversation on the pod.
Love your self awareness and your recognition of your own personal gifting and genius Aaron. Love how you unpacked that. So many people need to heed that. You love ideas and making ideas come to life. That’s special. And NECESSARY.
Oh my Word!! Thank you for this episode! Aaron explaining that quote “we contain many selves…the challenge is to sit in the mix, allowing the Gray”…was so profound, encouraging and helpful. Thanks for all that you guys share with us!
I loved Aaron’s question about, “how can we give people the benefit of the doubt that they’ve grown, or updated”as you said it. I wouldn’t expect people to believe that about you, until they’ve encountered that updated version of you, themselves. Does that make sense? Like how you said people won’t reach out to you because you “would blow up on them.” What’s cool is now that person gets an opportunity to experience the new you. The updated you. And you get a chance to be honest about your wrong doing “blowing up on people” which shows radical self awareness. And then you get an opportunity to show that changed behavior. You’re now a safer person. That’s beautiful. But those people will never know that until they’ve encountered or experienced the new you. FIRES ME UP.
I really loved the analogy of burnt food being served on a great date to illustrate how execution isn’t always the main driver of an experience. I can relate, as I tend to avoid over-planning because I focus on potential mistakes. For me, it’s all about returning to the core intention and ensuring it remains genuine.
This was interesting when I first watched it yesterday it felt like the son, Chris, was arguing with the dad. When I rewatch it today I was able to recognize it was about everyone growing. As a person that feels like they’re within a mixed in between both members I understand how judgmental will impact what you are giving as authenticity or what you are willing to accept as someone being authentic. It also puts you in a higher position to be more judgment. If you just can’t be accepting, which is what I think Erwin was touching on, you’re not at peace. I also really thought it was as black-and-white as either you can take the mask off and be yourself or you can but there really is a scale and there is grey. No one‘s entitled to your full authenticity until you choose to give it to and why is a 4 or 6 not OK?
That piece on rigidity is wildly deep Aaron! The more stressed and chaotic our inner world the more rigid we become externally.

I love these talks. Thank you both. 🙌 and Erwin touched on why I love Mosaic - he takes his talks outside of spirituality and religion. 💯
