I have always just loved Shirley Bassey's voice and performances - such a strong voice, and only Shirley Bassey can sing this song properly. There is no doubt about it, this is by far my favourite James Bond theme song, but there are many excellent James Bond themes. However, by many miles, Goldfinger is my favourite. Also, as a Scottish person, I have to mention my sadness at the news of the passing of the great Sean Connery, of whom I am immensely proud. RIP Sean Connery, and thank you for making Scotland so proud of your varied and fantastic contributing to the art of acting.
She actually recorded 4 Bond themes but Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was dropped at the last moment in favour of Tom Jones singing Thinferball . But the tune is familiar as John Barrry used Kiss Kiss Bang Bang as incidental music in the film

She was originally slated to sing the theme to Thunderball (1965), but that song was scrapped at the last minute & a new one was written for Sir Tom Jones... She was also slated to sing the rejected theme to "Quantum Of Solace" called "No Good About Goodbye" (2008). Legal mumbo jumbo among the producers kept it from getting cleared in time, so another song with Alicia Keys was used instead... but it's an epic song & perfect for any 007 film! Gold finger is my favorite JB movie. I can’t choose a favorite song. There are several great theme songs. If I had to choose, it would probably be a three way tie: Goldfinger, you never live twice, and live and let die. Now, ask me next week and I might pick something else.
Prefer the original recorded version, but you have to admire Bassey for being out there on stage at that age. "Goldfinger" is probably my fave Bond theme, but I love Nancy Sinatra doing "You Only Live Twice," and McCarney's "Live and Let Die." Favorite Bond: Sean Connery is/was the only Bond.
You may be Mojo Dapper Mystic, but the accent needs work, "mate"! My personal favorite Bond theme is Louis Armstrong singing "We Have All The Time In The World" from "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". Hands down, Connery the best 007, though Daniel Craig has been terrific.

She is amazing!!! Not crazy about this performance.....I like her performance in 1974 when performed at the Royal Albert Hall......Excellent performance.....excellent concert!!!!!! She is a little older here......wasn't as dramatic which established her as an Iconic performer.
