Shots fired lol. 3x Tacoma owner here but I couldn’t agree more. 65k is insane
65k starting with destination... for a 2 seater in reality
You have owned 3 TRD Pros? Or just 3 Pre Runners? Most people complaining were never going to buy a TRD Pro anyways
@@malcolmn.5222 well the comparison is top tier vs top tier. I own a 2012 TX Baja (TRD Pro Predecessor) probably would buy the new 4th gen if it wasn’t so outrageously expensive across all trim levels.
Much prefer this truck over the Tacoma... all day any day. But all the dealers I know are slapping a minimum $5000 "market adjustment" fee on top of MSRP, which in my world is an instant deal killer. I have never and will never pay over MSRP for any vehicle.
The title has triggered a few Toyota fanboys in the comments 🤣🤣🤣
Too easy 🤭
American cars suck. Will never buy American vehicles
Why pay 65k for a taco when you can pay under 60k for a ranger raptor? The reliability excuse can only go so far.
because the resale value makes up for it?
Well... reliability and resale value.
@@owenperry9937then a three year old raptor would be a better deal. Let someone else pay new.
The 24 taco got exactly 40 miles before busting a gear going 4 wheeling on TFLs website . What about reliability? And now you get a huge 4 cylinder!!!
This is a superior truck to the taco. If you have driven either of the new tacos, you know that they are soulless vehicles.
People say paddle shifters are useless on a truck but the manual system on the f 150 isn’t very useable. I like the paddle shifters
Paying 60k plus for ANY mid size truck is insane.
A central diff with 4A is real sweet when driving on slippery-ish highway.
my ranger raptor went through some flash flooded roads like it was nothing, this is the type of vehicle you keep for life. The motor gives me honda vibes in a good way.
Damn good package
I think Toyota is COOKED with a 20k price jump over the previous gen, the ranger looks great.
I totally agree with the statement only a fool would pay $65,000 for a Toyota. The problem is those Toyota Riders think that somehow those trucks give them magical powers. 😂
Let me know what you drive and I can make a case for why a fool would do so. It's okay if you can't comfortably afford a TRD Pro. It's not a necessity
@@malcolmn.5222found our fanboy
Would be nice if Ford made that 3 liter engine available in the Bronco, and put a V8 in the Bronco Raptor. Nice video.
I’m a die hard Toyota guy, but have to call it like it is: this is going to be a BIG problem for Toyota!
I doubt it
For the love of the new trd text they should have put the gx550 motor in it.
@@Adam-hq7ob exactly. We don’t 4 bangers
Insane Raptor Ben !! ❤❤
I love my Colorado and drool over the ZR2 but there is a new leader of this pack. And it's not from Japan.
And it's not a ugly ass mid size raptor 😂
Definitely like this more than the Taco. They both share some of the same built-in problems - lack of manual transmission in top trim (or at all on the Ford) and poor rear seat room. But the Ford has a V6, and if you've gotta have an auto-trans, at least the Ford shifter looks cool. And sub-$60K is a very good thing!! Love that color, too. Looks and sounds really good.
First time watching this channel. Instantly recognize that Wasatch range haha. Nice review!
$1500 for fake bead lock wheels is insane. Keep in mind, that is $1500 over the included wheels which are worth at least $150 each, and you have to spend nearly $1000 more for the beadlock rings. For $3000 I can get really nice aftermarket beadlocks from KMC. Crazy.
I canceled my 24 pro allocation after the price reveal. I now have a 24 pepper red fully loaded raptor here in 2 months for over 5 grand less. Half paid off already.
why put the trail connectors below like that? the other rangers have them near the plate location which i would think would be a far safer place for those on a off road truck....
Does it have cooled seats? Like F150 Raptor
I feel you should bo back to showing the exterior lighting front and rear. Brake lights, blinkers and such.
I have been waiting for a long time for Ford to make the Ranger Raptor available in the States. I even considered the Toyota TRD Pro for a minute. Toyota may have the reliability advantage but I am Motown. I can't wait to take that beast on a test drive.. Thanks for your objective review.
@Ben Hardy: local dealers are $10k-$15k over MSRP. Found one 5 hours away that will sell at MSRP. Only option is graphics. No bedliner or bead lock wheels. Should I go for it? What say you?
Check out two ford dealerships and one quoted me 80k out the door and the other 75k. I’m in Vegas so the car sale tax is 8.375 lol
@@GarrettArakaki-ch3vp 8.625 here. Its out of control.
Spoke with Johnny. They're doing the greed i mean market adjustment thing. The 2 Ford dealerships within 45 miles of me aren't doing the market adjustments. I think I'll stick with them. I appreciate your videos.
That Shelter Green color looks good, close to Chevy's Harvest Bronze
mine was slightly over 58 with tax and tags. ordered last year around july.
This will be the year that domestics in this segment will gain huge ground on Toyota, simply because people are being priced out of the Tacoma. Toyota digging its own grave
Spot on with the title, Ben! But even $60K for the Ranger is crazy for a midsize.
Do you remember when a dime bag used to cost a dime?
But will any dealer sell for Sticker or below?
The answer is no.
i have 2021 ranger tremor and the mpg is whats holding me back
Got mine with a 8k mark up coming early May kinda bummed im not paying msrp but whatever i guess 😅
Is LHM Provo charging a "bend over" fee on the Ranger Raptor?
I bought 2019 renger raptor . But am suffering with Adblue problem . Any one who has a solution please 🙏🙏
is there after market parts to get rid of the WAY TOO BIG "FORD" on the grill?
That is a raptor trademark
@JamesThomas-dn6ee sure. But is there any known after market options to replaceme it?
@TIB1973 but why would you want to replace it 🤔 it's a signature of the raptor people recognize it being a raptor instantly might as well buy a regular ranger
@JamesThomas-dn6ee it's just too big. No need for that...now maybe if it said raptor, still a little smaller, across the grill, that would be better. I also do not like the TOYOTA that is above the glove box in the newer trucks. I can't decide which truck I want, since performance and capabilities are about the same, and most trucks are not really offroad vehicles, but overland well, It's the little things that I want to tweak.
I've owned a couple of Rangers long ago - the pricing for even these has gotten insane and would def push me to a FS pickup instead.
Your looking at a 70k F150 ~equivalent~ otherwise your looking at an Lxt with cloth seats.
Maybe the most practical of the Raptors.
Except sitting the back back seats...
You paid for the “Cargo Management Rails,” but I didn’t see any.
He ain't lying...
Still like the styling of the old ranger raptor overseas
They are adding 10k to them here in GA and noone is buying them at that price--2 have been on the lot for 60 days and one dealership briefly had theirs at 85k--you can not get insurance or a loan when they do that crap.
Sharp but It takes a while to slow it to a stop, with a 151-foot braking distance from 60 mph. A little scary. I'd rather live through a sudden stop.
Is this one getting a mark up? In CO we are seeing $10-$20k over MSRP. #nope
In Texas it's being marked up too. Ironically the Ford Dealership that I purchased my 23 F-150 from, that advertises themselves as a no dealer add on/no hidden fees dealership, marked up their only Ranger Raptor by 10k and some fool willingly paid.
If you want a crazy off road midsize truck the Ranger Raptor is the one to buy. I wonder if Ford will make enough of them.
I like the ranger and would consider it if it had better MPG. I know, I know, it’s performance tuned, what do you expect? But I’m just saying that if it at least got 20mgp combined I’d be foaming at the mouth
I love that Yota Stans are being bent over with the new Taco's.
2020 Ranger Fx4 65k
No problems.
Me 2023: I can't wait to buy the new Tacoma Trailhunter. It can't be more than $55k.
Me now: Never mind.
No vents for the back row?
35 year Toyota owner, Just ordered a Ranger Raptor. Toyota crapped the bed on their price point vs features of the TRD pro.
You can't get one at msrp. I tried. Maybe if you scour the country or are lucky and have one of a handful of dealers nationally that aren't adding markups. I had an order at a dealership before it was even announced, they basically said they would convert my reservation as soon as it was formally announced. Once it was announced I called and they said they were going to do at least $10k markup. I said bye bye. No other dealer in my area (that even had an allocation for year 1) was offering MSRP on them either.
Dealers are charging $65k for the RR though...
I would love to be fool and pay up to $70,000 for the Tecoma, but I would not be smart and pay half the price of the Raptor, $35,000. Toyota is the best, and anyone who thinks that there is a competitor to Toyota in this field is stupid
Bruh you’re crazy to think you could get a Ranger at its MSRP.Mather you can because you got the perks with a bunch of dealerships but I’ve never seen a ford dealership that doesn’t do markups.
There’s one big reason that I would never buy that truck and it’s the blue emblem on the grill. Personal bad experience with brand.
$60k+ mid sized are PURE STUPID. Fullsize are cheaper.
I really like this truck.
Paid 52K for my ZR2 Colorado. After watching this I feel like I hit the lottery.
Same here.. definitely the best choice
You did
Paid 39K for my Trail Boss Colorado. Everything I need. Ain't got cruise but never used it in any vehicle I've ever owned.
Well to be fair that 100hp difference is just the extra your paying for the raptor
Why? You paid over 50k for a 4banger powered truck 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I have 26 months before I can buy one. I have been waiting for this truck. I love my F-150, but I prefer the midsize trucks. They are better suited for my needs.
Only a fool would pay over $45K for mid-size pickup!
Hilarious, how many 5 foot bed full size trucks are out there making 3 point turns into a parking space and left in the driveway because they won't fit in the garage ?
It a cool truck I just hate the screen on it why vertical. It just look ugly for me. Anyone else?
I did
This truck is bad ass & is a bargain, compare to the Tacoma TRD Pro
Are you could have a Ford that rarely leaves the repair shop…
Correctamento Ben! Ranger Raptor is the ultimate midsize truck today!👍🦾💪
Video title is 💯👌👍
Sub $60k MSRP, but dealers will want $80k-$90k for it. Why? Because they are slimy.
I own my home, not married and no kids, so 65k ain’t a big deal 🤷🏽
I wouldn't pay for any of these ridiculous prices. lol.
Ranger raptor is a great value over the trd pro. Both are too expensive though especially for a midsize truck
Ford hits you with insane markups. I've seen F-150s with 10K markups over MSRP. Not cool.
A grown adult can't sit in the back. I couldn't even get my boot in!!
Lol, its a good deal @ $40k
SVT ??? No
The Raptors pretty nice I just don't like the interior I hate all the red around the air vents looks like Fisher-Price and I hate the iPad in the middle
Only a fool would buy a turbocharged ford product.
Only a fool continues the same comment theme (hi again) when in reality Ford has been using turbo engines for years. These aren’t the same, basic, boring Toyotas of yesteryear Tommy boy
@@ryankunkel8247 and after all these years they still can’t get it right. They have more recalls than any other brand. Ford sucks man, just admit it.
There is a reason everyone in the Middle East fighting revolutions are in Toyotas.
All that money and you don’t get struts to hold the hood up
They are all doing it. Cheap.
@@sunchaser999 on my bronco it was the same totally ridiculous
My 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat has hood struts. There is no reason for this top trim not to have them.
@@christopherholder9640 I agree 100 percent
I really like the f150 raptor but the ranger it’s so not good looking
10k markup at my dealer
Your a fool if your getting either one of these anywhere near MSRP.
You are paying $65k for their shock absorbing seats. Would rather pay this price over a Tacoma TRD Pro any day.
Shortest test drive ever.
Ford has had 21 recalls in 2024 affecting 5 million vehicles and its only April. 😮these things were built before and during the UAW strike.😊
The ZR2 is still best bang for your buck at 52k.
Who cares about which one is better? If you want Toyota to buy it, then do it and the same with the Ford. It is apple to apple they are different, starting with the price of 8k without tax, etc, which bump closer to 10k more for Taco.
I like a few things better in each of them, but for my needs, Raptor will fit better. This is like Apple vs. Android, just get what you can afford and what you like. Definitely, I'll get an extended warranty with Ford and buy myself years of protection.
This thing is $80,000 in the glorious socialist republic of Canuckistan.
There isn't a universe anyone could remotely conceive where this truck is worth 60k, let alone 80.
Raptor and TRDPRO both offer separate pluses, but the 20+% better gas mileage with the Toyota would lean me towards it, plus it’s a Toyota and Ford for 2023 is at the bottom of 30+ vehicles in JD Power dependability ratings.
haha , cant compare cam phaser money pit to Toyota quality . good video Ben
Toyota quality is terrible. The ride is awful and everything feels cheaper and chintzier than the American brands. And with the current generation they can’t even spout marketing bs about reliability either.
@@The-fs5wnare you drunk? Toyota has the highest reliability and lifespan of any automaker.
@@gbpanther30 all time it actually goes to Honda. And Toyota’s current TNGA platform is riddled with problems.
More standard options in TRD Pro, better reliability, better resale, better MPG, more trusted brand, unleaded fuel not premium, better quality. Don’t get me wrong I like the ranger raptor but have you seen the mark-ups on them as well. Stop it
Front locker?
The ranger raptor tows more higher payload more power better handling better ride and doesn't look like a goofy cartoon character 😂. The Tacoma is not that reliable and I guarantee the new one will not be very reliable
Very poor MPG for this size of truck in 2024
It's a 405 hp v6 not a whimpy little engine
A few things. Way more Ford dealerships charge a markup than Toyota. The TRD Pro is overpriced. To recommend one over the other after a few days of driving them is silly. All vehicles are great when they are new. We will see how these age. My money is on Toyota even though I would not buy a TRD Pro
You can tell that you don’t do any homework on the vehicles you’re reviewing. “Standard BFG’s” …Ummm New first to market KO3’s on this new truck. “Wish the Bronco Raptor had the same power” Same engine with less HP in the Ranger. 🤷🏻♂️ Do your homework! 👎🏼
Stop making these videos, all those Toyota fanboys will buy up the inventory. There is no engine issue over there.
Gmc canyon at4. Much better looking imop
None of these overpriced trucks are worth buying anymore. Neither the Raptor, TRD Pro, ZR2, name it, or whatever these supposedly called "Pickups" with a 2ft grocery cart in the back. Sadly, no more cheap entry level MID SIZE WORK TRUCKS, these does not exist anymore in North America. Elsewhere around the World YES, they exists, but NOT in North America. Why? Because PEOPLES want Standing. Most of the new buyers won't do any offroad stuff, they mostly be stuck in their parking lot and leave it there paying their mistake to avoid repo. 40k or more for any MID SIZE "Pickup", specially the ones with a tiny tiny tiny 4ft bed in the back is INSANE and w-a-y too much. Problem is NOT the manufacturers, it's the consumers that are still buying these simili trucks.
This thing looks so cheep pared to the Tacoma. For only $5,000 your going to get something that’s what nicer
Lol 😂the Toyota looks cheap especially the cheesy interior also the ride handling and comfort is complete ass in the Tacoma
only a fool would buy a ford over a toyota to save 5k
Try $10K. And you expect these Tacoma’s not to have a markup? Get real
@@ryankunkel8247just get what yall want who cares...
@ryankunkel8247 the ranger rides and handles better more payload and towing. The taco is not that reliable stop living in the past
Please slow down when you move the camera. I have watched a few of your videos, but you do not know how to do a video. Get a videographer. Blah!
WHERE is the hybrid ranger raptor??? tacobell already come up with the hybrid pro,,, what r u doing ??? raptor ??? wake up....
Ford junk
I’m guessing you don’t have one and commenting on just emotion. Truth is you’ve probably never owned a new ford truck

Sad but true, this engine is way over stressed
