My top 2 this year would be 'Oppenheimer' and 'Godzilla Minus One'. I feel like 'Oppenheimer' was a movie going experience. Seeing it in IMAX with a 100% booked theater is one of those "wow" moments for a movie. The last movie I went to where it was that packed and they booked extra screens for one movie was 'Avengers: Endgame'. Movies like that are just so damn fun because it becomes an event like going to a concert or sporting event. And then there's 'Godzilla Minus One' which I thought looked pretty good in the trailers, but my goodness I did not expect it to be THAT good. It's one of those monster/disaster movies which does lean more heavily on the human element...but it makes everyone feel real. This isn't like a 'Transformers' movie where the humans have some boring, self-absorbed side quest. When we saw Godzilla we saw the scariest version yet. And the film built up the fact that even though Godzilla itself was scary it's the loss of those you live with that is the most devastating thing anyone can experience and the feeling of constantly being knocked down and unable to rebuild/go on with normal lives. So yeah...I'm saying Godzilla is my movie of the year. Phenomenal movie.
Also my top 2 films of the year, IMAX for both films was awesome too! Oppenheimer because, well it’s Oppenheimer on an IMAX screen and Godzilla because being in that theater with all the other fellow Goji fans was an awesome experience

I honestly don't understand what people liked about Spiderverse. The main villain is the spot a guy who can barely make one episode of 90's Spiderman interesting. It's a two part movie with a completely jarring ending. It further minimizes the importance of Peter Parker as the first and main Spiderman. They have the pregnant Spiderwoman in it. And the plot doesn't even have to do anything with saving the world or even the city but is bascially about Miles trying to save his dad from some kind of predestined tragic fate... Honestly what do people like about it??? The Super Mario Bros movie was a hundred times better and honored its source material!
I had a film studies class in high school where we had to go watch a movie once a month at the movie theater and write a review. Your reviews helped me figure out which movie to watch for the month. That was 13 years ago! Love your videos !
Congrats Jeremy. Been here since 10k subs. I've been watching movies alone at the theaters, and I'm always excited to go home and see your review after. You felt like a buddy I can talk to afterwards. Thank you man.
I know I’m not the only one who has said this but Godzilla minus one having less than 15 million to work with, made a stellar and poignant movie and did the impossible: made us care for human characters. I’m definitely buying this movie on 4k.
re: "4k" = 4k stands for ... HDTVs with 1,920-by-1,080 with four times as many pixels. (!!??) Unless one stays ahead of all this technology ... "4k" beat the crap out of my understanding !!
It wasn't impossible to make characters you care for, Hollywood just made it seem that way. They used to make films like that before but after Independence Day blockbusters became generic cash grabs.
i really respect you for your fair and balanced opinions. i know that if you say a movie is good or bad, it's not for social/political/whatever reasons, but purely based on merit. your reviews are instrumental in me deciding to buy a movie ticket or not, so thank you. congrats on (almost) 15 years!

Jeremy, over years I’ve subscribed and unsubscribed to so many channels based on the seasons of my life but in the middle of it all your channel has always been there. Thank You for everything you do! It’s been an incredible ride!
This channel keeps popping up in my feed and I appreciate this video if for no other reason than to establish that we have VERY different tastes in movies.
I havent watched any of jeremy for the last couple of years, just scrolled through the thumbnails, mostly because i havent been watching movies much Glad i took the time to come back Always a fresh feeling Never change !
For me, I’ve been watching RUclips content for 10-11 years now and channels come and go, but this channel has been one of the only ones that I’ve come back for every review. Thank you so much for another great year of reviews Jeremy. All the best Jeremy and on to 2024 and another great year of reviews 🙌
I've been watching you since I was a kid. I can't believe how far we've come. I love watching your reviews as much as I love watching movies. I have so much love and respect for you and this channel. Live long and prosper, Jeremy. Here's to 2024 and making new memories. 🥂
I just found your channel last month... how is that possible?! How did I miss out on your videos for nearly 15 years?! I'm a huge movie buff, so I watch a lot of movie trailers & reviews on youtube for the last 15 yrs, so I don't understand why RUclips didn't suggest any of your videos to me sooner. Well, I'm so happy I finally found your videos. You are the first movie reviewer or movie critic on youtube that I have truly enjoyed listening to what you think about movies. As someone who grew up watching "Siskel & Ebert" every single week, I'm giving you, as Siskel & Ebert would say, "Two thumbs up." :D (Hopefully you're old enough to know who they are. lol)
I can’t believe that he been watching Jeremy’s videos for almost 13 years now! He’s the first movie critic I ever watched on RUclips and is one of the all time best on the platform. Thank you for 15 years of great content Jeremy🤘🏻
I know how you feel. I can’t believe I subscribed to him in year 1. This just shows how great he is at what he does. 14 years and still going strong. Jahns-fan assemble. 😂
I really love that Jeremy takes every opportunity to show gratitude for people who have made this channel successful for so long. That thank-you video he did at the end of 2020 was a great example. This type of content really might not work for everyone, which makes it harder to be noticed in an ever-growing platform. I've been watching these reviews for close to 10 years now and loved every second of them. Keep being awesometacular!
every year I wait with anticipation for these top 10 best and worst movies reviews from Jeremy - it sets the tone for my movie consumption over the next few months!
Thanks for another year, Jeremy. As someone who's been around for a majority of your channel, I gotta say I still love tuning in every week to hear you chat about movies.
While everyone opted for Barbenheimer, Godzilla Minus One stomped in at the last minute to become Oppeheimer’s real mistress. I am going to pair these two in my collection.
Uhh The Boy and the Heron. God tier animation, and a mysterious multi-layered personal story that does not hold one’s hand. A message directed at the creators of the world, the film makers family, his regrets, and outlook on life.
Been subbed for over 10 years to you, I've watched almost every single video, the reviews, the trailer thoughts, the extra thoughts you couldn't fit into reviews, whatever, I've watched almost all of it. I'm really grateful to you, JJ. We're near enough on the same page with our tastes, not 100%, but close enough. I don't have anyone to discuss films and shows with much anymore, so being able to hear you talk about what you've seen for the past few years has been amazing for me. Besides Wick, I haven't seen any of these other films this year, that somehow includes Abyss 😅. You've given me a quick list to get to ASAP. You've maintained this energy in your videos (the positive and the negative reviews) and it's been a part of my routine for over 10 years, to see what you've enjoyed, hated or been meh on. Can't wait to listen to what you have to say this coming year. Happy new year. Keep it up. Most importantly, Thank you so much, Jeremy.
Jeremy y'know, it's kinda crazy when I think about how long I've been watching your videos. When I look back at old reviews from 2010, it's wild to see how far you've come. I was barely a teenager and now I'm approaching my 30s soon. Boy does time fly. Glad you're still here man, keep it up and Happy New Year!💪🏾

Happy new years everybody!!!
I didn’t really feel Oppenheimer tbh.. didn’t think it was a bad film - just didn’t hit any spot that made me think it was great.. and I’m not really a fan of Nolan’s writing as much as his direction and cinematography - but to each they own.
Jeremy, I'm not sure if you'll see this, but honestly, you are one of the very few channels I've been subscribed to continuously since X-men origins Wolverine and have never once grown bored with. Thank you for doing what you do. Looking foward to your 2024 reviews and beyond.
Congrats on the 15 years, Jeremy! Consider doing a tournament-style "best of the best" showdown series. Year 1's top 10 vs year 2's, those winners go on to face year 3's and 4's etc.

I agree. Barbie is gonna win solely to appease a very specific demographic as Hollywood begins to shift away from this very demographic. I put it next to super Mario bros as a very good, entertaining movie that had a lot of care put behind it. But is it truly better than dead reackoning, Oppenheimer, if John wick? No way.
Love your channel, Jeremy! Thanks for all the awesome content for all these years!
I had a film studies class in high school where we had to go watch a movie once a month at the movie theater and write a review. Your reviews helped me figure out which movie to watch for the month. That was 13 years ago! Love your videos !
Thank you Jeremy, I’m 28 years old and for 15 years of my life I grew up watching your reviews. Thank you so much for all you’ve done.
I know it’s technically 2022 but Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is the best new movie I’ve seen all year.
In Britain and Brazil it came out this year.
It was really good 👍
Its good but not that good
Was a bit disappointed tbh
It was on his list for 2022
Congrats Jeremy. Been here since 10k subs. I've been watching movies alone at the theaters, and I'm always excited to go home and see your review after. You felt like a buddy I can talk to afterwards. Thank you man.
Amazing 15 years Jeremy! I've been with you from day one and your opinion on movies is better for me than any other critic.
Godzilla Minus One should definitely be on everyone’s Top 3 list. Thank you Jeremy for acknowledging greatness!
i really respect you for your fair and balanced opinions. i know that if you say a movie is good or bad, it's not for social/political/whatever reasons, but purely based on merit. your reviews are instrumental in me deciding to buy a movie ticket or not, so thank you. congrats on (almost) 15 years!
What a year for film, can’t believe I missed out on so many heavy hitters, surprised saltburn isn’t on anyone’s list 🤧. Love all that you do on here, thank you for keeping it tight this long! Riding with you into 2024!
I was like 14 when I started watching this channel and now I’m almost 24 - time flies! I don’t even realise at what point in my life I started waiting for Jeremy’s reviews before checking out a movie I was unsure about.
I look forward to Jeremy’s top 10 Best and Worst movies of the year videos more than I look forward to celebrating New Years 🙌🏽😂
Same, this is the most important top 10 list for me
Also the top 10 most anticipated movies for next year
Thank you for continuing to be yourself, honest about the movies you like, even if I totally disagree with your number 1. After all of these years I still love watching your reviews. Keep it up!
Wow every year the movie quality goes down and down
Agreed
I’ve been watching your videos since I was 12 with my dad. I’m now 18 and still watch, my dad only watches movies after asking “what did Jeremy think?” And he goes based on your rating. Thank you for everything Jeremy Much love 🙏
I havent watched any of jeremy for the last couple of years, just scrolled through the thumbnails, mostly because i havent been watching movies much
Glad i took the time to come back
Always a fresh feeling
Never change !
Been watching around 95% of all JJ's videos for at least twelve years. Love his takes, attitude and energy. For many more years enjoying his content.
I've been watching you since I was a kid. I can't believe how far we've come. I love watching your reviews as much as I love watching movies. I have so much love and respect for you and this channel. Live long and prosper, Jeremy. Here's to 2024 and making new memories. 🥂
How far WE'VE come? Have you been producing his videos without him knowing?

@Follow God:God loves you repent it will be worth it God bless you all💕💜♥️
I just found your channel last month... how is that possible?!
I am so glad John Wick 4 is on his list! I was like fuck yeah once he said it.
I know how you feel. I can’t believe I subscribed to him in year 1. This just shows how great he is at what he does. 14 years and still going strong. Jahns-fan assemble. 😂
I remember his videos since 2011, 😭 I didn't know we were making memories, just having fun
Jeremy dont waste quality family time we appreciate the videos but you need your time to yourself 😊
I don't know how you slipped past my radar for SO LONG but I'm glad I found this channel now, after the BEEKEEPER review
every year I wait with anticipation for these top 10 best and worst movies reviews from Jeremy - it sets the tone for my movie consumption over the next few months!
Minus One is the unofficial sequel to Oppenheimer
The memes are writing themselves at this point
you and Chris are truly the OG of movie review..mad respect to you guys! ❤
Been fun watching these! Looking forward to a new year of reviews! Especially can't wait for Furiosa review!
Uhh The Boy and the Heron. God tier animation, and a mysterious multi-layered personal story that does not hold one’s hand. A message directed at the creators of the world, the film makers family, his regrets, and outlook on life.
SUZUME 🤝The boy and The heron 🤝Godzilla Minus One
2023 was the year of Japanese films
Started watching you in middle school. Now I'm watching you at the office haha. Love your videos!
Thanks for another year man, been watching you for a whole 11 years and can’t wait to continue 👏🏾👏🏾
Jeremy y'know, it's kinda crazy when I think about how long I've been watching your videos. When I look back at old reviews from 2010, it's wild to see how far you've come. I was barely a teenager and now I'm approaching my 30s soon. Boy does time fly. Glad you're still here man, keep it up and Happy New Year!💪🏾
My very first video I watched of Jeremy's (or the first one I have memory of) is his Inception review. Crazy to think that it's been THIS long now. His Top 10 lists are one of my most anticipated videos of every year, and he never disappoints. Thanks for all this years, my man!
I don't care what movies goes into your top 10 list but each year I watch these videos and enjoy them. Another year passed by.... Looking forward to your reviews in crazy 2024. Grateful to have you, buddy. Stay safe and happy new year!
I was wondering if Godzilla Minus One was going to make your list, and I was pleased to see it at number 2. Great film!
I started watching JJ around 2013. It's crazy to think it's been that long. Congrats on the long RUclips run. You're literally one of the only critics who's opinions I trust nowadays. Please don't ever change.
I’ve been watching & enjoying your reviews/film input since 2014-you’re an inspiration Jeremy, keep hammering at your passion!
Love this list and how you approached it and the thought process behind it. Great job!!!
I remember how i first stubbled on your videos.
Mass effect 3 just dropped and i was like wtf was that ending! So i went onto youtube to see what people thought and this guy just posted his thoughts about the ending and bam 11 years later im still watching his videos.
Heres to another year! Happy new years everybody!!!
Oppenheimer took the top spot for me this year. Nolan outdid himself and delivered arguably his best film
A lil to long man...
same
I didn’t really feel Oppenheimer tbh.. didn’t think it was a bad film - just didn’t hit any spot that made me think it was great.. and I’m not really a fan of Nolan’s writing as much as his direction and cinematography - but to each they own.
It's up there. For me his best movies are The Prestige, Interstellar, and Inception.
It’s between Opp and Killers of the Flower Moon for me
Number 10 is such a cop out. There’s so many movies from this year that could have taken that spot. TMNT, GotG Vol. 3, DnD, M:I 7, …
I had to scroll way way down to find someone mention DnD. How that didn't make the top 5 is concerning, but baffling that it didn't make the top 10.
Congrats to you with your channel. I know I been watching for 10. Thank you for your reviews
Great call on The Abyss! And fkn everything else. Vibin with the foundations of your critiques. Subscribed.
I don’t know exactly when I started following you, but I’m glad I’ve been on this ride for as long as I have. You’re one of the best reviewers out there. I don’t always agree with you, but I respect your style because you sound like a film lover and not some stuffy critic. 🎉🎉
That was a damn good list! Cheers and Happy New Year!!
It’s been a privilege watching this channel for over a decade now. You’re a household name where I’m from. Thanks for all the film/game reviews all these years Jeremy. Wishing you continued success.
Side note: I’ve noticed a few people have been getting into the Legacy of Kain series this year and I know that’s one of your favorite games from way back when. Hope you review it one of these days, would love to hear your take on Kain, Raziel, and the story of Nosgoth.
Happy Holidays!
I honestly wait for your reviews of a movie to somewhat base what i expect going in, its your genuine reaction and love for cinema that gets to me, love your videos man. Heres to another year of you being awesome & genuine
The only place I go for reviews. Awesome personality and great presentation! Thank you J
Jeremy. Thank you. I have been following you since your review of Cabin on the woods. Happy new year to all of you from Denmark :-)
Jeremy is that one movie critic thats always reliable and u find yourself returning to over others
I used to love Chris S but lately Jeremy is more attuned to my taste
This is one of my favorite parts of the end of the year, Jeremy's best and worst list! This put such a huge smile on my face as a 12 year fan of your channel! Hope the holidays treated you well Jeremy!
Jeremy I have been watching your videos for the past 13 years now and I always feel refreshed and energised after watching your videos
Thanks Jeremy I always liked your content and personality. You have been such I likable dude since I first discovered you with the Mass Effect 3 videos and I have never stopped following you since. hoping for another good year man, take care. greetings from Venezuela
Godzilla Minus One should win movie of the year plain and simple. A masterpiece!
Instead it'll likely go to Oppenheimer. Which really wouldn't upset me, as it was a fantastic film.
@@somerandolad My guy, didn't you hear that Barbie has 10 nominations to the Golden Globes and therefore will have more nominations to the oscar than any other movie this year? I guarantee that Barbie is going to take both the Golden Globe and the Oscar and that will be the final nail in the coffin for those awards
No way. But, that very specific demographic probably didn't watch the other 3 movies I mentioned
Its awesome but nah, oppenheimer deservers it more
Minus one is still top 5
@@cheetah219it sucks that good movies actual great movies get outshined solely because of a narrative.
Jeremy, thank you for another year of wonderful work. Been watching you a long time. Never tire of your opinions and presentation. The perfect blend of humor and intellect. You're at the top of my list.
Dude, ive been watching you since like, 2018. Youre great dude. Llve your content
I’ve been watching your channel since I was 14, thank you for all the laughs and commentary these last ten years Jeremy 😁
Thank you for all you've done for us all these years, Jeremy. Happy new year, man!
Absolutely love your content. You’re the only film critic I watch now. Been watching for a long time and it only gets better! Thank you for your hard work and keeping us informed and entertained.
Love how down to earth and frank he is. Just what I look for. Happy new year kind sir!!
Early congrats for 15 years of doing what you love. I'm just lucky enough to have found your channel 8 years ago. Happy New Year!
“Missing” is my number 1. I never expected it be there. But I’m terms of emotional pull, a twisting story, pacing, and creativity, nothing beats it imo.
You deserve all the success my friend , your enthusiasm and passion for movies and games always brings me back and I really appreciate all the work you put in brother , 🍻 here’s to another year of great content 🙏🏼❤️
Love the list Jeremy! Keep up the fantastic work!
Thanks to you too for creating these videos. I've enjoyed every single one of them
Thanks Jeremy for another year of reviews. Been watching since the Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen review and since then I’ve loved watching movie reviews. Double Toasted, YMS, IHE, RTMM, Chris Stuckmann, all started watching because of you.
Never stop giving us your honest and genuine reviews, its refreshing and always welcome. I've not missing a single video you've posted since you've been on youtube and I never will.
Just watched Talk to Me thanks to you and absolutely wonderful! Thank you for letting me know about it!
I always enjoy ending the year with your top 10 lists, thank you!
Watching these videos has essentially become a tradition, thank you for all the years of doing this Jeremy!!🎉🙌🏻
Thank you for 15 years of honest and awesome movie reviews.
You are truly the paragon of all movie critics.
It is always good to see when people can think outside the box and put different selections on their top 10 lists. Of course we are always going to get the movies like Oppenheimer and such, but I'm so happy to see your list included Talk To Me and Godzilla Minus One. My top 10 list of 2023:
10: The Covenant
9: Creed III
8: Anatomy Of A Fall
7: The Boy And The Heron
6: Talk To Me
5: Napoleon
4: Godzilla Minus One
3: The Holdovers
2: Killers Of The Flower Moon
1: Poor Things
This video inspired me to go see Godzilla Minus One in theaters. Just got back, loved it!
