Why is Agatha portrayed as a slim blonde when in all the books she is describes as 'chunky with dark brown hair' is it too much to expect that the tv series stay true to the books ?
I've purchased series 1 dvd (love the books) but I'm very disappointed to find the video quality is very poor. Not crisp and clear, in fact a bit blurry. Are all the subsequent dvd series of the same video quality?? If so I'm now very reluctant to purchase series 2 & 3 dvds. By the way my dvd player is all ok.
This is nothing like Agatha appearance wise. Agatha is known for her shining brown hair,middle age and great legs. I came across this trailer and never would of guessed it was supposed to be agatha raisin. I am sure the actress is a lovely lady though but the blond hair irks me to no end. Haha first world problems right.
Agatha is from Birmingham Is supposed to be 50ish Definitely has shiny brown hair and great legs..bit plump in the books. But shiny brown hair is required as it's one of her main features mentioned everytime in the book. As well as her small brown bear like eyes. Bill Wong is mixed race Chinese/English and in his 20s. Though that gent they have playing is handsome (fans self)
It's a very lazy adaptation, they have created a platform for Ashley, but this is not an Agatha Raison crime drama, more like 'Girl from Extras gets own show'
Terrible adaptation of the books; yet again a terrible miscasting, have the Producers not read the bloody books? Agatha Raisin ain’t pretty and she isn’t charming or Scottish.... give it to the BBC or C4 and lets get it right!

Read the books. You’ll realise you haven’t met Agatha yet!
I’ve read all these books and enjoyed them all. I like Ashley Jensen but she’s miscast, looks nothing at all like Agatha in the books.

Too cutesy. And thin.. If you read the books you would never guess she was Agatha.
I'm disappointed tbh to have read the novels and then to see what they've done to Agatha. Looks and dresses nothing like her.

Agatha seems too young (I thought she was about 50) and Detective Wong seems too old (he's supposed to be in his early 20s)

Agatha Raisin had brown hair, not blonde. Loses the point of the character to portray her as glamorous.

Such a shame this character is so far removed from the written character. Not a patch on Penelope Keith's portrayal.
