We've definitely had our fair share of road trips the last few years (started in a rental car going up the Pacific Coast, then our '79 Green Van, the Class A Motorhome, and now a 48' Toy Hauler!) While we were only kids during the '90s, we thought it'd be fun to create a nostalgic throwback video to pay tribute to the trips that created a love to travel in each of us. Can you imagine doing a road trip now without cell phones?? I remember when my dad got us lost because he insisted on using the paper map. Last Thursday was a mess.
That was hilarious!!!! My parents would get us up 3am and pile us into the back-seat with our pillow and blankets, we'd all go back to sleep and wake up a few hours later. That way they didn't have to deal with the arguing for the entire day because we were asleep 😆

Yes my parents as well, and as one of the kiddos (me) was a hyper-restless one it was my parents lifesaver on these trips.
We always started our road trips at 9 pm. 3 kids asleep in the back of the station wagon. My dad would drive through the night, and if we got there before we woke up he would recline his seat and sleep. When we woke up, we were there or almost there. That's how we did it in the 80s and 90s, lol.
My mind hurts from thinking about how you made this.

That was so amazing to watch! I remember road trips with my parents they would purposely leave our house at like 4 in the morning so my brother and I would fall back to sleep and not fight the whole trip! A lot of my dads family lives about 8 hours away and we would do that trip sometimes twice a summer! Now that my husband and I have three kids of our own I totally get it lol once this virus is under control we will be attempting the 8 hour drive with them and I’m not gonna lie I’m already nervous hahaha

Did anyone else’s parents go to AAA for a road trip book? The book had step by step directions and nearby food/rest stops.

That was so much fun! I laughed out loud at the 'punch bug' part. The red shirt teen was a riot. There were five children in my family ... We used to fight over who got to sit next to a window. And then there was the classic scream: 'he's touching me!' Even if it were just knees touching. Our parents were saints. You two are great!

This has me reminiscing to our family cross country trip in 1996. We had a cassette player which was would automatically flip sides when finished. It was pretty fancy at the time. At one point, we almost ran outta gas because we couldn't find a gas station. We made it, but it was close.
Hahaha I remember when it would automatically switch sides and feeling so great about the future. Not having to take the tape out to flip it haha

Ah the 90s gotta say it was probably a nightmare for adults but for kids who where born in the 90s like me you had good cartoons to keep you busy on a Saturday morning

So cute, as a kid my favorite part of the road trip was when my siblings were asleep lol I had my daddy all to myself..
As a parent my favorite road trip was going from Texas to California at Christmas in freezing weather.. we had a blast

This is scarily accurate, at least for me. I suck at directions and i would be lost without a GPS. When my phone lags or whatever, Im so screwed. So I get this completely lol

in the 90s we had old school handheld games, not Gameboy, that's too advanced, they were the tiger games which only played one game eaach, but they were "fun"
