no mention of the gearbox?? That was the biggest "problem" with original aventador. I guess its still a single clutch but have they improved it? was it smoother?
Beau Braekeveld yes i know. But i would have liked to know if it has been improved in shifting speed and smoothness. I guess they will mention it when they do a test of it on the road.
Lamborghini made the SV have a smoother gearbox, but with the S looks like it has been further refined by a lot. It's shifting speed is fast enough in Corsa mode, just 10ms slower than Ferrari's dual clutch.
Steve, I am from America and I absolutely love your reviews. One of my favorite journalists to say the least and this review was a delight as well. My favorite though without any doubt was when you reviewed the Hennessey Venom GT. Your delight and enthusiasm radiated right through the television.
Wow, I wasn't expecting such a massive overhaul from the current model. Can't wait to see this up against the current pretenders from mclaren and ferrari
While they have improved it performance wise, I still don't like the exterior changes. The fixed air vents, the triangular exhaust and those "fangs" in the front bumper don't look good. The SV still is the best looking Aventador according to me.
I wasn't a fan of the SC. STS looked better. These are just cars that after a certain point, you can't add anything to them. Or rather you shouldn't. The Squadra Corsa looks weird with those extra slats and creases added. At least thats my opinion.
Actually it pretty much reminds me of the Huracan, especially the "shorter" back behind the rear wheels makes it look a lot smaller than the previous model. Not a good choice in my opinion. :D
Can't wait to see these guys criticize stuff about the original Aventador and praise this one. When the next model comes along, the S will have been pretty much the worst Aventador of all time according to these guys.
They'll say stuff like: "When the original Aventador came along, it shook the Automotive world. After a phenomenal 5 year run, Lamborghini launched the S version. Although good as a car, it had lost it's charm as a Lamborghini. But it's back in this one. *exaggerated awe expression Yes, it's properly back with this one!!"
Honestly that seems pretty spot on. The intro was fairly complimentary to the original, but once he got to driving suddenly it was just a fast car with loose and unsychronized dynamics. I remember reviews even then talking about how much improved the dynamic characteristics of the Aventador were over previous models. All that said I think it's a moving goal post and I don't believe that anyone can completely cement their memory of something in history and then recall it exactly as it was. Cars that felt fast no longer feel that way, cars with fantastic gearboxes and incredibly responsive engines 10 years ago, now feel like lurching on/off switches. As much as the numbers would make it seem like they should be running into diminishing returns I get the feeling that cars actually getting better at an increasing rate again. I think it's hard for a reviewer to remember exactly what they felt about the Aventador in the context of its time when they have since driven Mclaren 675s and P1s, Ferrari 488s and Laferraris and when even cars like Nissan's GTR have actually improved in leaps and bounds in 5 years. Take the LaFerrari and the Enzo. Just look at the power. Just the NA engine is a big step up, but throw in the electronic motor and you have nearly 50% more power, far more torque and vastly improved response in the LaFerrari. Dynamically that engine is better in every way which would be a big step, but then throw in the extra 300hp and it's not even close. Remembering how impressed you were with the Enzo when it first came out would be difficult. Look at how long cars like the F40 and Mclaren F1 were praised, I genuinely think things are just moving that much faster now. That said it does feel like a bit of hyperbole to hear some of what they say, even in this review considering I can off hand remember things differently and I wasn't paying that much attention.
I was waiting for a magazine to review the white Aventador S from all the colors available at that presentation in Spain. And finally it happened! I think this is the best looking of them all with those rims, and color combination
Regardless of future changes they may bring to the Aventador, I just hope they keep the dashboard/instrument control board. It is unique and gives that cockpit feel. It is one of the features that I would have time to overlook if I were to be choosing between a Ferrari 488 and the Aventador, although the 488 has plenty to consider as well including the Trunk space and hard top convertible.
This new model is surprisingly better than before. I expected it to be an old Aventador with a new and fancy body kit. But, Lambo has nailed it! Well done.
i'm really glad that other car companies have stepped up their car designs.... which gave us "casual" car guys options that are more affordable..... and are more daily driver friendly.
Never been a fan of the Aventador but this new "S" model really tickles my fancy quite a bit, i really love the way they styled this one.............Subscribed !
Dam, how many special aventador models are there going to be?? Its still a single clutch transmission, same design with a kit, and same engine. We also have the aventador miura out so is it better than this one also???
Nothing has changed about the aventador in years. Its styling is the same as it first came out. Horsepower figures the same. Speaking of mclaren it has changed because it has improvements. At least its better than the 12c and the current models are better than the last. I guess this is the reason salomondarin will not get an aventador. I like them but almost every other year its another model. In the course of a little over a year the aventador miura, s, centenario and sv have been released. But oh well its just my thoughts.
He already made a video on why he wont get another. As i stated "i guess this is the reason salomondarin will not get an aventador". So many special models of the aventador that its a joke. Cars based off the aventador with the engine and transmission aventador s, aventador miura, aventador sv, centenario, veneno, lp700-4, 50th anniversary, and the list goes on lol. The rear end of the s model doesn't look better to me.
noner come Well, it seems that you are not the targeted audience of this car anyway. Trying very hard to overlook the big improvements Lamborghini made in this iteration. Good luck finding another v12 modern Mid rear engine super car that's not a hybrid.
Ferrari 599 GTO Lamborghini Murcielago SV Pagani Zonda Porsche Carrera GT Lexus LFA Ferrari F12 Porsche 997 gt3rs Maserati MC12 Any 3/4 rotor Etc etc etc all sound far nicer
Improvement on GTR 2017 from the previous model is better than this Aventador S from Aventador even from Aventador SV. I'm not much of a car person, but for me the front and back bumper are better on the original Aventador.
yeah, cool video. the multimedia system controls remind of course of the Audi A4, but doesn't matter - also the integration of all the car's ECUs remind of audi's canbus, which is a good thing. Keep it up, bull car!
Can't wait for Huracan Performante, apparently Lambo claims it's faster on a track than Aventador LP750 SV, which means it will go around Nurburgring in less than 7 minutes, staggering for a car with some 600hp.
Since car reviews are mostly paid for by manufacturers, I find the best way to assess a proper review is look at a new version like the Aventador S and hear them talk about the old model. Then you get an objective review.
Okay, I have done about 60 laps in a regular Aventador at that track. It felt brutal but heavy there. It seemed that I always had to manage the weight there. Also, when braking from 150-160mph at the end of that front straight, the rear end would start dancing a bit. I wonder if all of that is gone now?!
Could you do a review on some alcohol (ethanol) powered cars? Ive read that in Brazil 90% of cars drive on alcohol, and all major manufacturers make them.
I really miss the song of the old 6.2, sounded soo much better! Its strange how when ever a updated car comes out the one before is always flawed and not good at all. Same with the Ferrari 488 when it came out, suddenly the 458 was flawed and not good at all.
i think people buy the aventador for its character and the huracan for its speed and useability, because the huracan is faster than aventador on track. the aventador needs to stay the way it is with the single clutch being more of "fun". we'll anyways have the replacement for the aventador which wil for sure have a dual clutch.
Cool :)
Lamborghini ayy salty
pls give me a chance to drive one of these i live in the netherlands thx! xd (this wish will never come true, am I right Lamborghini?)
jealous much?
stfu
Vasu Arora Ik heb dezelfde droom :) Ik zou al helemaal blij zijn om er in een te zitten als die stil staat. Elke dag wacht ik..
This guy has the best job in the universe
I'd take Steve's job over that everytime without a second thought.
you could have just said pornstar
how do you apply to be one anyway (just out of curiousty)?
isn't being the universe the best job in the universe??
best job = no job =)))
no mention of the gearbox?? That was the biggest "problem" with original aventador. I guess its still a single clutch but have they improved it? was it smoother?
sidewaysswe still single clutch...
Beau Braekeveld yes i know. But i would have liked to know if it has been improved in shifting speed and smoothness. I guess they will mention it when they do a test of it on the road.
sidewaysswe Lamborghini likes their brutal shifts rather than performance.
Have another look at the video, the answer to your question is quite visible (in Corsa mode at least).
Lamborghini made the SV have a smoother gearbox, but with the S looks like it has been further refined by a lot. It's shifting speed is fast enough in Corsa mode, just 10ms slower than Ferrari's dual clutch.
The front facelift looks so amazing!
This guy is my favourite test driver. real professionalist .
Steve is my favorite.Perfectly edited video!10/10
It would be beautiful in nardo grey.
ezar howard fuuuuu yes it would
These wheels are ugly as fuck though. The SVs were black but the silver-ish colour is cancer to the eyes.
ezar howard funny you say that because I thought it was best in yellow
a genital wart is beautiful in nardo grey
ezar howard *Grigio Telesto
Great car! Can't wait to review it later this year. I am very happy about the changes to the instruments and the added shift lights.
Steve's pronunciation of Lamborghini is so smooth.
@cannabased if you have mental deficiency.
@cannabased this isnt reddit you braindead mongoloid, go clean out the cheeto dust on your shirt first smh
Steve, I am from America and I absolutely love your reviews. One of my favorite journalists to say the least and this review was a delight as well. My favorite though without any doubt was when you reviewed the Hennessey Venom GT. Your delight and enthusiasm radiated right through the television.
does it have a dual clutch?
No
Wow, I wasn't expecting such a massive overhaul from the current model. Can't wait to see this up against the current pretenders from mclaren and ferrari
UzzyFuzzyy yeah they look so different from what is currently available on supercars, very intricate
Pretenders? Im sure you mean contenders
you are sarcastic right?
The Huracan is better than this tbh
Mansa Musa so Lamborghini made the "new" Aventador S worse than its cheaper, less powerful brother? Sounds logical...
Aventador S has crackle pops now! Did you hear?! Amazing 😍😍
That sound, bloody hell !
Kaisuke971 lol
Journos are always happy to state the old models flaws when the new car is driven but NEVER share these honest views at the time of testing.
While they have improved it performance wise, I still don't like the exterior changes. The fixed air vents, the triangular exhaust and those "fangs" in the front bumper don't look good. The SV still is the best looking Aventador according to me.
BlackWind haha those design features are exactly what I love, it reminds me of the striking on the Gallardo Sqaudra Corse
I wasn't a fan of the SC. STS looked better. These are just cars that after a certain point, you can't add anything to them. Or rather you shouldn't. The Squadra Corsa looks weird with those extra slats and creases added. At least thats my opinion.
BlackWind I'm not a fan of those "fangs" either but I'd get over it pretty quickly
@BlackWind true true
Actually it pretty much reminds me of the Huracan, especially the "shorter" back behind the rear wheels makes it look a lot smaller than the previous model. Not a good choice in my opinion. :D
this face lift grew on me the same way the huayra grew on me its like fine wine the more you look at it the more beautiful it becomes
Can't wait to see these guys criticize stuff about the original Aventador and praise this one. When the next model comes along, the S will have been pretty much the worst Aventador of all time according to these guys.

That new exhaust sounds FANTASTIC! It's so much more sonorous, and it's got the crackles and pops YES.
I'm pleased with how a new Lamborghini looks for the first time in like 6 years.
I'll take one in nero nemesis black please!
I was waiting for a magazine to review the white Aventador S from all the colors available at that presentation in Spain. And finally it happened! I think this is the best looking of them all with those rims, and color combination
hearing Steve's voice is a revelation These days
stfu
The sound of that V12 is spine tingling.
I still think the Murcielago sounds better
Huey Freeman I think so too. New engine just doesn't sound as good.
Agreed, Murcielago has a higher pitch and it's eargasmic
Have you heard it in IRL? I did in Singapore and almost shat my pants. And that wasn't the S model.
Anssi Jaakkola it sounds great but the Merc sounds more vicious
Huey Freeman it definitely does!
Finally...a bit of beauty creeping back into the design at L.
So does the aventador s replace the normal aventador ?
Regardless of future changes they may bring to the Aventador, I just hope they keep the dashboard/instrument control board. It is unique and gives that cockpit feel. It is one of the features that I would have time to overlook if I were to be choosing between a Ferrari 488 and the Aventador, although the 488 has plenty to consider as well including the Trunk space and hard top convertible.
Sutcliffes driving/reviews are always a good watch.

noner come Lamborghini usually use a platform for 10 years plus and salmondrin has had two aventadors.
He already made a video on why he wont get another. As i stated "i guess this is the reason salomondarin will not get an aventador". So many special models of the aventador that its a joke. The aventador has the best exhaust note I've ever heard.
Ferrari 599 GTO
Lamborghini Murcielago SV
Pagani Zonda
Porsche Carrera GT
Lexus LFA
Ferrari F12
Porsche 997 gt3rs
Maserati MC12
Any 3/4 rotor
Etc etc etc all sound far nicer
Mansa Musa jaguar f type/project 7
Once I saw what this thing can pull off I was speachless when I grow up I must have the s
Now give me the roadster version already!
When I hear his voice first come on in the video, I knew it was going to be a good one.
Has the look of the SV minus all the extra track gear... love it.
It looks absolutely stunning!
Improvement on GTR 2017 from the previous model is better than this Aventador S from Aventador even from Aventador SV.
I'm not much of a car person, but for me the front and back bumper are better on the original Aventador.
the 4 wheel steering damn son, I can feel it from here lol.
love the improved design adjustments
Very cool. Thanks for the upload
why is Lambo trying to make these look like reptiles?
My god these cars are excruciatingly beautiful.
No mention of the transmission not being dual clutch?
yeah, cool video. the multimedia system controls remind of course of the Audi A4, but doesn't matter - also the integration of all the car's ECUs remind of audi's canbus, which is a good thing. Keep it up, bull car!
Anyone know which one more expensive and faster the s or svj asking for details
Tommy Likes I think the svj
Damn that blue one looks phenomenal
you sir are on top of your game ....thank you GOD bless
Can't wait for Huracan Performante, apparently Lambo claims it's faster on a track than Aventador LP750 SV, which means it will go around Nurburgring in less than 7 minutes, staggering for a car with some 600hp.
derbigpr500, rumors are only rumors. That and the SV's unusually fast time is suspicious as hell.
Well considering there's a video proof of it I don't think there's anything suspicious about it.
I think the suspicion is more that the SV that was used in the lap wasn't stock, like one a customer can buy, but, that is just a rumor.
We need a side by side review of the old and the new one.
Does this Lambo have single plate clutch still, or upgraded to double-clutch?
Henning Souz
single clutch,as its lighter plus u get that amazing race "jerk" while shifting
thnx
Muhammad Qasim Dilawari, that's not an amazing race jerk, that's called being a shit gearbox.
I love the yellow. A beautiful color for the car!!!
I love the Aventador V12, but i think the Huracan is more sportier on a Racetrack.
When you look in the Blancpain GT Series there drive a Huracan GT3.
where was this shot? that building is an architectural masterpiece.
The new S is growing on me. I didn't like the new front and rear, but the more I look at it, the more I begin to like it :) my new dream car
The only company left not on the turbo bandwagon. However would love to see a v12 twin turbo 🙊
I wish they updated the center console, though.
Since car reviews are mostly paid for by manufacturers, I find the best way to assess a proper review is look at a new version like the Aventador S and hear them talk about the old model. Then you get an objective review.
where is 1:43 filmed at?? it kinda looks like computer generated
Downtime i also thought it was computer rendered but yeah it isn't!
ANOTHER MASTERPIECE!
I love the front-end of this thing
Only looks good in dark blue but sounds amazing
I actually ordered one and it should be here soon
he is a proper driver too , look at that correction , lovely car .
These lonely countryside roads in the intro.were made to enjoy driving. :)
This reviewer is great
Looking forward to seeing one of these.
Perfect in all colours!
They ruined the rear
Victor K it was never that great...
I agree but fully blacking it out made it worse.
The front is acceptable. Not a huge change but it sure looks less sporty
Victor K Yes damn it lost the edgy look of of a lambo it make me feel like the car name was Aventador Sister
What do you mean they ruined this lamborghini's rear?
I think "S" stands for Snake... by the look of that front end!! Awwsome😱
Does *ANYBODY* know where that b-roll was filmed? I must go there, it's gorgeous!
nice Design in Front. and Back
Could you do a review on some alcohol (ethanol) powered cars? Ive read that in Brazil 90% of cars drive on alcohol, and all major manufacturers make them.
do a drag race with the aventador s vs ferrari f12 tdf or a track race
OMG I NEED THIS, LISTEN TO THAT SOUND!!
the question is, does this aventador has the patented active aerodynamic like on the huracan performante?
I really miss the song of the old 6.2, sounded soo much better!
Its strange how when ever a updated car comes out the one before is always flawed and not good at all. Same with the Ferrari 488 when it came out, suddenly the 458 was flawed and not good at all.
Can the bring the stick and third peddle back?
beautiful as always...
very enjoyable vid.
I would expect better resolution display with this price tag.
Most beautiful Lambo i've seen in years IMO. Love the front.
Wow. I wouldn't have thought Japan as the expected #2 market for this Aventador.
just love this sound😍😍
Wasn't also the lack of *A DOUBLE CLUTCH* what was hurting the car before? Does it have one now?
Would you guys mind getting started on my 2020 Aventador S?
few bolts missing from the chairs subframe?
How does a four wheel steering work?
The transmission is still from a clutch, or was it actually passed to two clutches?
So there will be Aventador S Roadster, Aventador S - SV, Aventador S - SV Roadster, or something like these, right?
Den zu fahren ist mehr als geil ❤❤von der Optik her der schönste Lambo
Did they remove the single clutch ?? please no tell me they didn't
Sure, but I love this neck breaking effect on the aventador when you shift up, it's kind of a charm i think on this car don't you?
the Aventador needs a dual clutch
Mansa Musa why?
Mister Mood, it's completely outdated in essentially every way.
Mansa Musa but the flagship lambo's are supposed to be around for 10 years but with continued updates. it will die off in 2021
i think people buy the aventador for its character and the huracan for its speed and useability, because the huracan is faster than aventador on track.
the aventador needs to stay the way it is with the single clutch being more of "fun".
we'll anyways have the replacement for the aventador which wil for sure have a dual clutch.
***** but that what lambos are mostly used for. plus a dual clutch is faster and better performing.
I still prefer the looks of the Huracan and the 488. Something just looks off about the Aventadors
Al Boran the rear design is crosseyed
I will never unsee that now.
Quavo used this video for his album promo lol
L A M B T A L K 🏎💨
These guys have the best job...😧😧
Will there be Aventador s roadster?
