I remember Steve reviewing the F12 for Autocar 5 years ago and saying "where on earth do they go from here." Once again he's saying something very similar. Well done Ferrari!
Everybody hated the f12s styling when it first came out, i remember seeing comments saying the lines on the rear looked like a thong. When the next ferrari v12 coupe comes out everybody is going to say the 812 was way sexier and so on and so forth. I think this thing is sexy af.
It's very noticeable that Pininfarina are no longer involved though. Neither the 488 nor the 812 wow me like the 458 and F12 both did when they were released.
I actually LOVED the F12 when it came out and I still do. This doesn’t look horrible, imo from the rear it looks better than the f12 but I’m not a big fan of the front
I remember Steve’s first review of the F12 a few years ago - he said (paraphrasing): I just don’t know where they go from here. How can they improve upon this?” - well, they just have! WOW!
What until you see one in real life , they are stunning . Great vid Steve, the best motoring journalist , fantastic film work, especially at the beginning )
It seems to me that Ferrari have hit the absolute sweet spot in auto production. Can I imagine the car world without Ferrari? Quite simply, no. Can you?
I absolutely adore this car. After seeing it at Geneva, I wasn't too impressed, but after seeing it on the road I am completely besotted. The styling, the interior quality, the performance and drive ability aswell as it's somewhat practicality make it awesome.
When ferrari invite stevie sutcliffe and chris harris to review and drive one of there new cars they have to make sure they have a truck load of rear tires on standby 😎
I would rather say I like it early and laugh at guys saying "It's growing on me" later on. Ferrari cars and its fans are always like that, as history shows.
Dear Steve Sutcliffe, you are my favourite by far test driver on you tube. You are a real specialist and speak perfect English that is easily understandable for not native speaker of English language like myself. All best.
Two completely different cars (driving experience). I have an 812 and I have driven the Aventador. 812 has a dual clutch, while the Aventador has a single clutch which feels more “punchy” on gear changes. There are some throttle technics (lifting on gear changes) to smooth out the transition, but NOTHING compares to the dual clutch of the Ferrari.
I remeber seeing Steve's autocar review of the f12 berlinetta in 2012 and him just being speechless. him saying (' where on earth do we go from here ') well 5 years later here we are lol.
On video it's not as pretty as the F12... but then the 488 didn't look much on video either. In the metal... in the metal it could be glorious, just like the 488!
I am not seeing the controversy around the style. To me it looks stunning. Maybe I am just mesmerized by the red paint but I think it's more then that.
I prefer the look of the 458 over the look of the 488 but I prefer the 812 superfast over the f12. I believe that the 812 is better at everything than the f12.
Great stuff Steve. These things are getting psychotically fast now. I like the front end, I like the side view, it's just the back which is a bit dissapointing.
what a car! A friend of mine has ordered his, it will arrive next summer, the wait is excruciating :), but as the saying goes: all good thing comes to those who wait. Hang in there Mika! :)
A ferrari is an experience others are replicating it. Thise who run behind the bugattis for fastest hardly go fastest. But in a ferrari just sitting in a standstill car is an experience of a life time!
The best review of 812 on youtube!Steve you are the man! Some dont like look of 812 but you have to look in 90s model it have definetly Ferrari design.I like it very much and that V12 N\A is diamond!488 is shittiest Ferrari ever
It will go past 220. The 211 number is written as 211+ in the owners manual. This is because Ferrari has not tested it beyond that. Will it do more? Yes. I've seen 351 as a passenger and it had plenty left in it, we just ran out of road. This was on GPS @ 7900 rpm in 7th.
I'm sure the car is as fantastic as I can imagine, and that sound is absolutely incredible, but I do agree about the looks. I'm not a big fan of the "nostrils" on the front end, and I think I prefer the old 458 era headlights. These ones look like they're trying to be too aggressive. Hopefully Ferrari remembers that they don't need/want to look like Lamborghini.
"The way it looks is a bit "FUSSY"?!?!?! What does that mean?! It is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! The stuff that dreams are made of!!!? In a time where a lot of cars are mimicking each other, NOBODY will confuse the 812 for anything but a Ferrari GT: Front-engined, RWD, V12, grand touring coupe that looks like it will bite whatever you're driving in half, WITH "black magic" performance and FOUR tail lights (i.e. the absence of MY personal "gripe" about recent Ferraris which only have 2; the F12 included). Now I just need to sell-off every-single-thing I have, and own (belongings, family, pets et al), to buy myself one! I'll worry about the insurance and the fuel bill after a year of saving up all my pennies!?
The better word is "entertaining". There are faster cars, but it does it in a way that is truly special. It's not so much how it goes from 0-100 khp. It's more how it goes from 30 to 130 kph.
I love steve sutcliffe's reviews and i agree the styling is a bit controversial the back of the car and front look lovely but the rear side windows and the alloys dont do it for me the first alloys on the yellow one are awesome they should of put this engine in the F12 along with the back end and the front of the car but the TDF is gorgeous however its easy to not like the car on a video and in pictures but in the flesh up personal it will look nice
In 2050 Introducing the new Ferrari with 3500 hp and 0-60 in 1 second. Quarter mile under 5 seconds. Top speed of 330 mph. Meanwhile in California traffic the most you can go is between 40mph and 65mph on a good day😂.
Lol give it a year or 2 and everyone will be saying how beautiful this thing is. It was a similar case with the F12, I didn't like it at first but then it grew on me which was the case with most people. The 812 though I'm liking right away, especially dat ASS OMG!
I'm glad you said it looks fussy steve lol. I felt that the very first time I seen it. it has way too many lines that just do not work well with each other. the rear of the car looks great to me the front abit of a dodge Viper and the rest just oddly shaped and placed slashes and scoops. the guts and skeleton of a perfect car is there but the looks broke my heart abit. not as pretty as the F12 :(
I cant help thinking, that Ferrari have gone a bit overboard with their front engined V12´s. Even just 11 years ago the V12 Ferrari was the 575, which had a 5,7 liter V12 with 515-540 hp. Now we are already approaching 800 hp, and I find myself asking why? Was that really needed, and can anyone actually use that extra power on the public road? In some ways I find the 575 and the 550 more desirable than this 812. You got all the glory of a high revving V12, and more than enough power already. And they were more GT cars. Which in my opinion is, what a front engined V12 should be, and most historic V12 Ferraris have been like the Daytona. If I want a hardcore sportscar, then what exactly is wrong with the 488? The 488 is more than fast enough already, its better looking, and its better handling, because its a mid-engined vehicle.
OMG, I thinks Ferrari have done it again. The "Golden Coin" for the moment. God I fucking love it. It breaks my heart that I can't get an actual cool Ferrari this time. AAAAAWWWW,♥️💥🏎🏁😲. One of a few very harsh traits of being a car guy.
When you see it in the flesh, you'll see it's not as angular as you might think. It's actually very fluent and well proportioned. It looks big in pictures, but it's not as big as one would think either. It's more than 30 centimetres shorter than a Merc E class in fact, and only about as wide.
There is NOTHING on earth like the sound of a Ferrari V12. An absolute masterpiece.
A car company that never misses its mark for perfection!
Andres Gonzalez exactly people seem to never be able to tolerate change and embrace it... they keep clinging to the past. it's possible to like both!
It's very noticeable that Pininfarina are no longer involved though. Neither the 488 nor the 812 wow me like the 458 and F12 both did when they were released.
Me too.
EI Rev Ders I am from 2019 and ferrari have realeased the Roma and it doesn't look sexy at all
I actually LOVED the F12 when it came out and I still do. This doesn’t look horrible, imo from the rear it looks better than the f12 but I’m not a big fan of the front
NA 6.5 V12 800HP 9000 REDLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! INSANE
I remember Steve’s first review of the F12 a few years ago - he said (paraphrasing): I just don’t know where they go from here. How can they improve upon this?” - well, they just have! WOW!
Ex Cop he says it all the time...losing its novelty
Steve reviews V12 Ferrari -> smash that like button fifty times
Exactly lol he ends up not liking the video
a great review in 14 min. much better than some other reviews that are longer. well done !
Perfect, ours has been ordered from a year ago...! Can't wait to get our hands on it. Thank you Auto Express, excellent review as always.
Did you receive your 812? I’m thinking of ordering one.
Instablaster
Hears Steve, clicks thumbs up
I must say, video quality and editing has got up with these recent videos of AutoExpress! Keep up the good work
I don't know why people don't like the design. It looks like the most beautiful machine ever mad. It looks like a piece of art.
Can you?
Well since I've never owned one it's a difficult question for me to answer?
First time I've ever seen Steve Sutcliffe mildly terrified behind the wheel. That says it all about the 812. Epic car.
Always a pleasure to hear Steve review cars! He's one the best!
I love the narration with epic background music.
I would rather say I like it early and laugh at guys saying "It's growing on me" later on. Ferrari cars and its fans are always like that, as history shows.
Inner Hammer True
Dear Steve Sutcliffe, you are my favourite by far test driver on you tube. You are a real specialist and speak perfect English that is easily understandable for not native speaker of English language like myself. All best.
This ferrari is pure perfection.....i absolutely love this gorgeous machine
Those rims are hypnotising 👍😁
What a sexy machine.
He really is. The 812 isn't half bad either.
ROFL
True
Starky513 no more natural turn
Starky513 goat
why are you not uploading the huracan performante review yet??? you guys already driven it.
Im always glad to hear Steve's voice. Sad he releases so little reviews lately
Strangely my favorite part of the exterior design is the headlights! From a distance, they look like spider eyes. Very menacing and badass.
Steve's car control is incredible. Proper legend.
I love you Steve. You are the best :)
Great review, as always. Just wondering, how would you rate the 812 next to an Aventador S?
Two completely different cars (driving experience).
I have an 812 and I have driven the Aventador. 812 has a dual clutch, while the Aventador has a single clutch which feels more “punchy” on gear changes. There are some throttle technics (lifting on gear changes) to smooth out the transition, but NOTHING compares to the dual clutch of the Ferrari.
Downright epic car!! Love it, Steve Sutcliffe is one of the best out there atm imo, great review!
The constant symphony that accompanies this vehicle is ludicrously awesome.
This guy does the best reviews, interesting, informative and enthusiastic (Him and Chris Harris achieve this) Everyone else - step it up!
Can you order the rear lights in non black/red design. I want orange turning lights.
Music to my ears when you hear stevies voice at the beginning of a car review. 😎😎😎😎😎
Styling is Amazing!
So what track are they at? I must have missed it...
rashad pleasant Fiorano.
I am not seeing the controversy around the style. To me it looks stunning. Maybe I am just mesmerized by the red paint but I think it's more then that.
hockeymann88 totally agree. Don't get it. It's an absolutely stunning looking car.
Please what is the song at 3:36 ? :)
I prefer the look of the f12, just like the 458 over the 488. Sorry Ferrari
mhh yes, but the 488pista is stunning
I prefer the look of the 458 over the look of the 488 but I prefer the 812 superfast over the f12. I believe that the 812 is better at everything than the f12.
why aren't there any pop up headlights on cars anymore? looked so fine imo....
At some angles ,it looks like a Dodge Viper...
CLMDADE it does
Yes, and that’s sad.
If your drunk n hi n half blind then it looks like a viper
Great stuff Steve. These things are getting psychotically fast now. I like the front end, I like the side view, it's just the back which is a bit dissapointing.
what a car! A friend of mine has ordered his, it will arrive next summer, the wait is excruciating :), but as the saying goes: all good thing comes to those who wait. Hang in there Mika! :)
Best 812 review so far!!
how much faster does laferrari feel? @Auto Express
A ferrari is an experience others are replicating it. Thise who run behind the bugattis for fastest hardly go fastest. But in a ferrari just sitting in a standstill car is an experience of a life time!
I just never really like when the front is as big as the pasengers seats plus the back
I watch these kind of videos because one day I might just win the lottery :)
The best review of 812 on youtube!Steve you are the man!
Some dont like look of 812 but you have to look in 90s model it have definetly Ferrari design.I like it very much and that V12 N\A is diamond!488 is shittiest Ferrari ever
Steve Sutcliffe is a great road tester, coz, of his enthusiasm, humility and honesty, not a hero driver like so many.. :)
Classic design, beautiful in person, that engine!!! Can’t wait for mine !!!
What's your spec?
That in tdf blue is just perfection
So, what's 0-100mph? About 6.0sec?
Tim Tursonoff cut in a half
Less than 4 seconds actually. It just keeps pulling.
Thank god the review was done by Steve 👏🏾
McLaren have always been amazing cars...but when I see these Ferraris I just have to admit that they are always a few steps ahead. Incredible car!
Steve sutcliffe does GREAT reviews. Right on par with Chris Harris, Jethro Bovingdon, and Henry Catchpole, IMO
Steve he's the Man...I always look forward to his reviews. :) :)
I can't afford skoda and I'm watching Ferrari 812 review!😂
What is wrong with you?
This car is a total beauty.
TheVassilios11 each to there own I suppose
Same. It's sexy.
ferrari purists who don't like change and innovation
It looks good everywhere except the front imo. Looks like a fish with an allergic reaction
The fake exchausts received a lot of negative comments.
My eyes and ear is only focus at that masterpiece V12 NA 800bhp engine!
Thank you for the review. Well done. It’s doubtful I will ever drive one, but what a kick in the pants it would be.
"My God it feels fast in straight line, absolu... Jesus Chris!!! Excuse my French" #Epic
Difference between hp and bhp?
1 bhp is 1.0139 hp (PS)
Such a beautiful review as always ! Just thank you ;)
beautifuly filmed ! and reviewed excepionally!
Seems like Steve says in every one of these V12 N/A Ferraris - impossible to see where they go from here :)
"I haven't got the bawls"
lol!
I find it abit strange how ferrari have never been bothered to take any of there cars past 210 to 220 mph

Why is it not named F12-2? Where does the 8 in 812 come from?
I think this is by far the best Ferrari - the perfect combo - albeit at a big price tag, but it does it all. awesome car.
Incoming the successor, the Ferrari Super DuperFast

The best engine on earth.
I thought this car was fairly ugly when I first saw it. Like the 720s. But now I think its stunning, not like an f12 but close.
It reminds me of the Viper tooooo much
great review BTW
Steve is up there with Chris Harris .
He sure does know how to drive.
When pininfarina stops designing your cars....
So epic, that acceleration is brutal
The better word is "entertaining". There are faster cars, but it does it in a way that is truly special. It's not so much how it goes from 0-100 khp. It's more how it goes from 30 to 130 kph.
Not really a beautiful machine but definitely an amazing bit of kit as usual. What a car!
What a Boss of a Car! Just Wow! Way more impressive and appealing that its predecessor.
Nice touch with the mismatch dubbing over video.
I don't know if it's the car or the review, or both but i have goosebumps.
It's the car:)
Fantastic Review!. Though I disagree on the Looks...

I'm not gonna lie this 812 kind of reminds me of a C7 Corvette on the outside.
StrrangerDanger hilarious how corvette try to imitate Ferrari there is no comparison
Epic video. Thanks!
The Ferrari F12 was the symbol of perfection
Lol give it a year or 2 and everyone will be saying how beautiful this thing is. It was a similar case with the F12, I didn't like it at first but then it grew on me which was the case with most people. The 812 though I'm liking right away, especially dat ASS OMG!

A funny sight for sore eyes stevie in that helmet. 🤓🤣😂
I cant help thinking, that Ferrari have gone a bit overboard with their front engined V12´s. Even just 11 years ago the V12 Ferrari was the 575, which had a 5,7 liter V12 with 515-540 hp. My friend has one of these but still has his, F12. The F12 is still that good he could not sell it.
Wow! I love this sound
It's very different from the usual Ferrari's, it's dipping it's toe into the Lamborghini styling (the very angular rear)
When you see it in the flesh, you'll see it's not as angular as you might think. It's actually very fluent and well proportioned. It looks big in pictures, but it's not as big as one would think either. It's more than 30 centimetres shorter than a Merc E class in fact, and only about as wide.
