I think you explained this very well. During the early 60's I remember watching I think it was Italian, late one night on tv, and hearing that "La La, La La. In the back ground music. Your absolutely right.

Thanks, this was a great reaction! The 13th anniversary show was a live stream with no audience present and featured all new songs that had not previously been recorded at that time (a number still haven't been) so its 100% live and no post-production. The album version was recorded about 6 months later, so for your own interest you might want to check that out. There's an effect on the bass solo that I'm not the biggest fan of, but I still love this song. Oreo also said in a recent-ish interview that this is her favourite current song to play.
You're correct that it's Hana on guitar and vocals. Joined by Koga on bass, Tomo-zo on guitar, Angie on vocals, Yuri on drums, and of course Oreo on keys who you know for sure, no matter how much she changes up her appearance!
The band can certainly be confusing to begin with when you go through older vids (I see R-Tunes will test that with his various requests to come!😂😂) , but the above is the current line up that have been together since 2019 and have confirmed this is their final form, and is the same line up for my other requests so far.

I have selected Rock Candy as my next victim to have the Gacharic Spin hose turned on XD
That said, I can't think of a better hose to have turned on someone

Whether you have the "knack" or "knowledge" to analyse jazzy stuff doesn't matter imho, cause you really dig into the music and figure out really interesting stuff. And you got it 100% right, they put so much effort into the details of everything (be it music, lyrics, arrangement, MV, gestures).
    Really enjoy your reactions :)

Koga seems to have a deep knowledge of and feel for jazz, we just don't always hear it through the funk. And when GS does go jazzy, it's often the piano and chording guitar that first catch the ear -- but check out the bass in Baku Baku: when the obviously jazz keys take over, the bass slides in underneath, so sophisticated, round and rolling.

Iirc, TomoZo wrote the chords for this one as a music theory (jazzish) exercise. And Hana has said she’s grateful to be able to use a keyboardist with classical training, songs like this allow Oreo to really apply that big musical brain 🤘🎸💃😎

Yeah that Bridge in Baku Baku with the keys and bass (and vocals) is one of my most all time favourite moments of GS

Koga's bass lines behind the bridge of BakuBaku are completely sublime

Great review of a very versatile band. First, GS has always been a bass dominated band, it is rare not to hear Koga up front and center in the mix but since she is so good, why not. Yes, "Rabbithole" is a very jazz centered song and GS has a few others, not to mention the jazz influences added to many of their regular songs. "I Want to Take a Walk" is a jazz instrumental centered around Tomo-zo but without Hana playing. The short call and response between Tomo-zo and Yuri is amazing. "Mirai Ronso" is an upbeat funky, jazz tune. Another fun song is the funky, disco, R&B song called "Generation Gap" which is sung by Oreo. The video is hilarious since all of the musicians, which includes back-up singers dressed up like the Supremes and "men" on the horns and congas, are GS members GS has become one of my favorite bands, obviously because they are extremely talented musicians, but also because they are not following a trend since they are blazing their own path and having fun doing it at the same time. I would love to see them live one day.

I’ve always loved this older live version of Ganbanba Dancer with Hana on drums, Mai dancing, performer #3Nenne on piano (they’re all so versatile?!) and Oreo out front singing, dancing, even scatting. Very Latin jazzy, and yet still GS rock

I have often wished Rick Beato could give this song, or band, or music scene, a good looking into. He breaks down more popular stuff usually. He has also been on a tear recently with great interviews, but I’d say the MartyFriedman interview might be the closest we’ll get to coverage of JRock/Jfemetal 🤷‍♂️

Yeah he's just not interested unfortunately, which is a shame considering how much he hates on current popular music...

I remember when Rick Beato did a live request stream and everyone requested BAND-MAID. So he did it. First, he played “Choose Me” and said “oh, a pop/punk band” and didn’t even listen to the entire song. After that, he tried their newest song at the time “SENSE” and found it over produced, and again, he just listened to a small part of the song. Then, I tried to push for Gacharic Spin “Mindset” but there was so many comments on the livestream that my request got lost.
Anyway, he doesn’t deserve them. Let him bend his guitar like a boomer and keep listening to prehistoric music 🎶🦖

    • @r-tunes8652
      @r-tunes8652 2 месяца назад +3

He tried about 30 seconds of Band Maid and didn't like it and I think that's about as much as he's ever touched on J-Rock scene
Bit of a shame, but he has his tastes, Marty Friedman has given lots of bands a great spotlight with his Rock Fujiyama show

@r-tunes8652 I remember that video. Rick said the song was so over compressed that he couldn't listen to it. Unfortunately he is missing out on Japanese bands that are writing the type music that he claims is disappearing in the
market. Today I was listening to Rick's interview with Ted Gioia about AI's affect on popular music and they laughed about the at most, 4 chord songs written by committee but I have seen Tomo-zo go through 4 chords in a single desending run during a solo.

Hana and Tomo-zo on guitars , Koga you know lol Yuri on drums ,Oreo Reona on keys Angelina 1/3 vocals (pink hair ) this is the current makeup of the band . the last one you saw Hana on drums and thought it was Yuri Hana had blue hair for a long time and was the drummer when they first started until 2019 when Yuri and Angelina joined the band the first iteration of Gacharic spin was Koga ,Hana tomo-zo and Armmy on Vocals soon after they added Oreo Reona . Ammy got ill left the band and then sadly passed. from the time period she left and then Angelina 1/3 joined Hana and Oeo did most of the vocals and they had screamer dancers on stage with them . if i have gotten some of this wong or left out something I am sure Homeknome will fill in the blanks i am pretty sure he knows more about Gacharic Spin then just about any one else

@@homegnome2429 R.C.takes the time to learn about the groups that are new to him , and as a musician himself does a great job with the way he presents and breaks down the songs . I try my best to help him with info when ever i can but we " old " musicians get forgetful and mix things up at times lol .Gacharic Spin is one of my all time favorite bands and I try to spread the love whenever I can , however most reactors just do Mindset , rave about how cool it was then you never see them again on that channel this is not one of "those " channels , Cheers !
