I've just started teaching myself to skate at 29 after being a lifelong fan of these games (nowhere near on you guys' level though). This man is my inspiration, that's awesome you got to play with him :)
Im 13, and im trying to skate. I can push fine, skating itself is fine, but learning the ollie is the hardest part for me right now. I tell myself just keep practicing, and so should you. :)

Very heartbreaking to hear thps 3+4 isn't coming. I was waiting to see how they'd handle the platform exclusive levels like Paris(3, GBC), Oil Rig(3, Xbox), or Little Big World(4, PS1) to name a few. I will say, I would love to see the ability to boneless or no comply off a flatland or grind to help rebuild momentum so you're not at a dead stop. As a byproduct, terrain would affect how fast you go, making these tricks much more important when skating on grass or dirt. As they always say, "You can't skate on snow." I did see something else that interested me. Some guy skating straight at a wall kicked his board at the wall, it bouced back to him and lands on a vert ramp. This makes me think about the ability to kick the board away to a wall for example to try and land a deflection trick as a special trick only. This would be hard to use anywhere besides straight at a wall while coping at point blank, though, since, unless you're a god with this trick, you probably won't be able to figure out where it's going. That and some collisions might make it terribly difficult. You're character would recover the board automatically if it flies back towards them, though, don't worry. The points accumulated would be based on how long the board was away from the skater with a base of (pulling a number out of my bum) 2,500. Terrible ideas, I know, but on the other hand, they're solutions to a few problems we've had in the series like coming to a stop for one reason or another. The other one is just an idea inspired by a trick I saw.
im gonna be honest. the fact that they resisted from making those studios pitches is for the bettef and a really good call because if it doesnt feel right, then dont force out a new game. im so glad theyre keeping the thps series authentic because ill tell you right now, any studio who isnt passionate about skating or skate games and just takes on a game that they have no understanding or background of, will completly ruin it and be exactly like thps5 all over again. until you find the right moment, do not make the next tony game because it will not be good!

What andy doesn't mention in any of his content is he secretly knows most of the old community and commonly reaches out to them, that is how I found out about various thps mods, and fan games, he also at one point tried to form a steamgroup, he invited me to it despite us never communicating on steam telling me he basically actively looked for old community members to invite to his steam group. Back then I don't ever remember him mentioning him working on any of the tony hawk games but idk my memory plays tricks on me. I would also spend like 60+ hours a week on glitch hunting and caps for almost every glitch clan not bgoat... All of their glitch db's died but bgoats and even that has some problems. At some point all the glitch clans kept everything secret from one another to not feed bgoat more glitches. I found some pretty dangerous CAP glitches that resulted in crashes without the need for a cheating device to do that which at the time was the only known way, and in doing so I found telerails I found 3 different types of them in thaw but can only remember how to do the one I used the most which was the shimmy teleport rail. That one I did openly share because to do it wasn't as bad as the grinding crash rails. I told a few people in the cap clan about it and then I saw them place them in almost every maze cap they made just to be dicks at the end of them. Yes you could do the samething with a cheat device basically but I showed them how to do it without. Any ways there was a bunch of glitches thugpro devs patched out and they were very very obscure glitches that commonly didn't effect gameplay in a negative way, and then there are some pretty easy to do glitches that do, that they also patched out, but the most abusive glitch to any gamemode that doesn't end on someone winning is still in the game. Not to many people know it now but back in the day pretty much everyone did and they abused it so much, in thug1 with the thug 1 varient and could turn a match that would normally last like 10 mins to something that could last hours. I don't want it patched out because I believe that none of the glitches should have been patched out but thugpro devs were heavily abusing old glitch clans to patch out glitches that were not considered techs, now its clearly more defined, back then it wasn't and at the very least things like floating grab glitches and under map glitches and void travel glitches shouldn't have been patched out but were, and Yes I have tested it in regular thug2 on pc and yes those glitches are still there. There is still void space glitches that I wish for them to leave alone but seeing their track record for hunting down glitchers to rat out all the glitches so they can patch them all but the basic techs I find it harder and harder to trust them.
There could be a good chance THPS will make a comeback considering Microsoft has taken over Activision. There's no doubt in my mind they would green light a new sequel based on the brand alone. you just need to talk to the right people, get it to their attention, Microsoft will write a blank check to any top developer and potentially create the greatest THPS experience yet. it will happen.
Andy can you please email Activision and see if they can get their multiplayer working again. Haven't been able to access multiplayer for 3 months now😡
It's cool that Tony actually plays the games and is at least proficient rather than just some celebrity's name affixed to a licensed game. It helps that he grew up playing video games since the Atari days.
It sucks cause both Beenox and Vicarious Visions worked on 2 of my favorite remakes THPS 1+2 and CTR Nitro Fueled but it looks like Activison is not going to bring those back anytime soon.
