there’s something about just a pencil and a brilliant brain that can not be reproduced.
it’s like buying a can of tomato sauce versus a homemade one from an italian grandmother. it’s just better.
And a Notepad.

Adrian Newey, otherwise known as the "dark lord of aerodynamics" has been one of the most influential car designers in F1 for decades. The man is a legend and I would love to see a longer chat with him. Anyway, short n Sweet (see what I did there 😉) and great film work as always.

@@ArpitAgarwal181 Yes, I have read it. I think he was also involved in the only Haynes manual on how to fix a Red Bull F1 car. Haynes manuals are usually about Ford Fiestas, road cars....and what not. You can find them, but they are really expensive. Which is really ironic as how many of us own a Red Bull F1 car.
@@dazuk1969 part of the old school crew still uses paper drawings and a slide rule, sometimes the old ways are still the best.
@@apocalypticweasel9078 I agree, Mercedes this year are a good example. They have all the computing power in the world....and this years car still bounces like a kangaroo. The RB looks rock solid....there is a message in there somewhere.....peace to ya.
Adrian Newey is a legend, regardless of which team you support, their designers looked up to him for sure. It is also amazing that he drives the cars as fast as he designed them to be. Love the Leyton House, it is iconic for me

Years ago Adrian once drove our car in a British GT race to get some stamps on his racing licence that he needed for the following year to upgrade to an international racing licence. He took one look at our car with his EYES... No wind tunnel, no computer. Just his EYES a piece of paper and a pencil. Then he had a think and told us to make changes to the gurney flap positions and lots of other little details. Car had so much downforce afterwards. Massive difference. Guy is so talented. A true F1 legendary designer.

Kimi in his McLaren years was arguably the best in the world, certainly the fastest. It's a sad joke that he didn't even get one title between 2002 and 2006.
@@livingbeing1113 if mercedes have him better reliability he would’ve won the championship easily in 2005. also 2003. 2003 is a very underrated season performance for kimi as a driver

Looking forward to Adrian Newey episode. His house is on another level. Beautiful place and the games room is epic. What a history he’s had. A true legend of the sport and an icon of design. Pretty handy driver also. Thinking Goodwood revival etc. would love to of the cost of running and maintaining these old F1 cars. Understanding the preparation for these events. Another great video and epic sounds.

i miss the days of the grey mclaren’s. such a beautiful era in my opinion, 05 mclaren in particular. those ‘horns’. will never forget seeing that car screaming around, crazy fast with raikkonen at the wheel

This car just made me think how much i’d like to see jodie and kimi. I feel asking him about ice 1 and his son getting into karting etc would let us see the real kimi.

I would love for you to take out a Vintage Bentley LeMans or Blower. Many years ago when I lived in Devon I heard and saw one on the road between Exeter and Dawlish where I used to live, the sound was incredible!

ferrari is amazed how rb is still be able to bring updates to rb18 considering the cost cap. well, adrian only needs a pencil and a3 paper to continue the development.
You should do the interview in his garage at home, I imagine it's an Aladdin's cave of tech and probably a few surprises.
