The shield is one of the greatest, I think. With a maximum upgrade you can block almost any attack from bosses and other Enemies + with a additional ability you can stagger bosses 100% with a bash and knock out regular enemies. It has 1s recovery time and small energy requirement, so you can play through the game on easy mode. It does tremendous damage to stamina bar as well.
Knife is really good specially if you choose the talent on which you can deflect criticals. You get knocked back but you can immediately swing back with the knife and keep attacking. It also does pretty decent damage and can interrupt most enemy combos say if you don’t feel like deflecting the whole thing. On top of it all you get a offensive buff every time you do it after a deflect.
Honestly, as someone who does a lot of deflecting, my #1 so far is the dagger. It does 150% to 200% claw damage (depending on your stats, and if it's fully leveled) and it's extended attack allows an instant cast after a deflect. I couple this with the more deflect damage skill So, I walk up to the enemy, they swing, I deflect, and tap my Plague Weapon attack for the dagger, and watch 50 to 100% of their life get ripped away. Elites get about 20% to 30% of their life taken in two button presses. It's beautiful. My second is the bow, so for some bigger guys I go in shooting, and when we get close I swap to dagger use my claws, deflecting/daggering, counter-deflecting/daggering, or just evade/dagger, and watch them melt. **Edit Follow-up** I beat the game using these two abilities, and had plague stat to 20. They made the last boss silly easy. Just used the bow at range to rip away his white bar, then get in close and use the dagger, which made very fast work of his green bar.
As a tokyo ghoul fan, I loved the tentacles plague weapon. The blood sword was my favorite. Just attack and buff it up and deal the final attack. It did crazy damage.
Katar is by far the most OP especially when paired with scythe, if you spec talents into all 3 jump claw you will stack 5 Defense and 5 Offense and when katar is on cooldown you scythe dealing damage and healing you. You can easily kill everything without ever having to use potions
Lol the mutated tentacles is the most powerful plague weapon and if fully upgraded can melt bosses, you just need to max strength and plague then get plague weapons to level 3, plague wounds to level 3, blessing to level 3 and energy reflux to level 3 then just spam the hell out of it in boss fights and watch the boss die in 20 secs. The knife and the javelin is the most powerful claw attack for depleting plague hp, difference is the range. Personally i bring both since i like playing precise parry, i use knife for enemies that dont dodge as much and javelin for quick moving enemies.
the knife is soooo good, just completed a 100% achiv and start seeing videos of top weapons to see if a missed something... very strange that only few people talk about the knife. It's like free dps! After you get the extra action upgrade, it's the fastest attack in the game (after a parry), you can use it on cooldown (if playing focusing on parry) and it does 360% claw dmg after gull upgrades for almost no energy and a 3s cooldown! If you use it without parrying it still gives you super armor to just go on full trade mode with dying bosses! Got it super early and all weapons seemed like blunt children toys after it. Javelin is great, but sadly you get it only in the end game, but this comp (knife + jav) is for sure the best tool to handling everything in the game. Always in mind that this is only true for parry style players. But its such a good parry game, everyone should try it at least once.

Blood Blade & Miasma are my favorite options. Miasma can stun and gives unlimited enhanced dodges for a long time, great mobility for boss fights.
I never thought to Miasma for bosses. That would be very helpful.

dual swords and katar are pretty good you can inflict a lot of wounds then do dmg with katar jump and air claw attack
You mean jump when they do their special attack?
So far great sword is my fav but haven't gotten even half of them yet. Love the knock down and seems to do more damage than other early weapons
Greatsword is fantastic for that. It's what I used it for as well.
Greatsword, Bow, Scythe, Blood Blade, & Tentacles are my favorite. The Tentacles remind me of Toyko Ghoul alot so yea definitely on the list lol 🔥🔥

You just gotta kill bow enemies. Use the luck upgrades under strategies to increase the item drop rate and make it easier
