Valve finally comes out with a new game called Deadlock. It is a MOBA game that mixes aspects of League of Legends, Dota 2, Overwatch, Valorant, and more. Valve was very strict on their closed beta, but finally are fine to release footage to the public today. This game shows seven getting over 20 elims in one game, and many of his electricity abilties and ultimate. My team also performs well so hopefully this video is a good guide to any aspiring Seven mains.

I've been playing Deadlock offline, because Valve didn't want any footage being streamed/recorded until now. I think it's EXTREMELY fun, and I wanna make a lot more content on the game. I wasn't sure how to treat the first video we uploaded, and it just so happens I actually POP off in this game as Seven, so this is kinda just raw footage of the game, since there's so many elements like the buying system, ability upgrades, mobs throughout the map, etc. If you guys would prefer to have more highlight/highly edited footage let me know! Hopefully you enjoy, because I definitely wanna play this game more!

Visually its so messy. I really like tf2s minimal astethic. This visually is just cluttered. You cant make out other players. Every effect is is just some weird bright orange, yellow, blue. There is so much unnecessary shit on the hud, the ttk is 5 business days, the map has no contrast,even the f-ing crosshair is annoying as f. I’m ten minutes in and i still dont get the objective. It really looks bad. Really really bad. Overwatch type bad.
NGL this game is EXHAUSTING to play. Hell it was not even really a fun watch. I kept going hoping something would happen that was actually exciting but this definitely ain't it. Even design wise it looks uninspired. Battleborn looked like (and in my opinion was) a far better game with much better fleshed out characters... and it still tanked. This feels, to me, like a creatively bankrupt moneygrab. As if they do not already own among the biggest class based shooters (TF2) MOBAs (DoTA2) and a tactical shooters (CS2) and now its just all that... mushed together. If ya'll enjoy it have fun but as Valve's first truly new IP since Left 4 Dead in 2008 this is a colossal disappointment. All the money they got and this is what they slapped together. But hey this is "an early development stage with lots of temporary art and experimental gameplay" maybe I will look at it again after they actually cook for awhile, but I am not holding my breath.

To anyone complaining about ttk and stuff like that, just want to point out (no offense) salty is playing in a very low mmr lobby who dont really seem to know what they are doing. The game definitely gets better once you know what your doing

the game is first of all a moba many shooter players need to get that^^ or they wont succeed cause they dont do the creeps secure and deny

You know, its weird that I haven't seen a shooter moba hybrid like this yet (One with creeps, side shops, lanes, towers, and heroes). Looking forward to how it plays out.

There was a game once upon a time in 2012 called "Super Monday Night Combat". It was a Moba styled 3rd person shooter very much like this and it was great! Servers for it went dead in 2018.

This is the first I've heard of this game, but so far it looks to be a pretty fun MOBA.
I'm sure there's a need for balancing, as there always is in these kinds of games, but the characters look fun to play.
It seems to be balanced by icefrog, and so far hes doing a great job imo. No character is obv OP.
Ice frog is involved in this game so I don't think balancing could be a problem
@@Wavprofrom what I've played so far, Warden Infernus Seven and Mo are all noticeably MUCH stronger than the rest of the cast. Mo is supposed to be a CC-type Support Tank but kills you without any aid from any DPS and Warden just drain tanks too good. Same kinda balancing nightmare issues that League of Legends had which makes sense because this game is definitely heavily inspired by League and Dota.
As for Seven and Infernus, they're damage is just a bit too overtuned and their best items make them a lil too drain-tanky. For Seven this is okay because he has to sit still during his ult leaving him wide open. Infernus can just burn you and then you melt over time while he hides in cover, assuming he has to. This is with even gold and items too.
@euclidYT seven is probably the least overturned of the 3, the most overturned character in the game atm is pocket and he's already getting a confirmed nerf. Seven is just a super noob stomp character and once you get out of low mmr lobbies you can shut him down pretty easily

McGuiness (the lady with the minigun) her ult doesn't autolock but it is easy to aim with. A tip to play against that ult is to get close and personal since that ult has a minimum range
Thanks for the tip! I was actually the McGinnis in this game, and it was also my very first game XD still had a lot of fun and next game did a lot better but I played Infernus.
This game scratches the visual aesthetic of Disco Elysium punk and retro-futurism, gritty and urban atmosphere has, but in form of a -fps- multiplayer third-person shooter (a tps, if you will), really interested in Valve's cooking this time 🔥

A couple, yeah. There's one called Haze that has an Uzi and goes invisible and deals ramping damage in a single target the more of her clip she fires into only them. Not a "backstab" per se, but her playstyle is very much "get behind you and oneshot you"
right now I've seen at least one item anyone can build that can give temp invisibility as well, kinda like shadow blade/glimmer cloak in dota 2

Because it's a MOBA first and shooter second. So if you're not a DOTA or LoL fan it's very possible that this game won't be for you. Imagine LoL where every character is ranged and autoattack is a skillshot ;D

Maybe it's due to the design of the character you played in this video (Seven), but anyway... It felt very boring.
TTK is long, match is long (it took 25+ minutes even though you pretty much steamrolled), not sure I would ever touch this game. MOBA never interested me anyways.
I mean, the game doesn't even have a release date yet. It's possible the flow could change entirely.

When you kill minions, you see the little orbs that float up? they are blue, when the enemy does it, they are orange. If you shoot the enemies orbs before they float all the way up, it lowers the souls they get, and if you shoot the blue orbs before they go up all the way, you confirm all the souls early so they can't shoot them

Looks like it's the valve version of battleborn. I don't complain because that game was cool and died not because it was bad but because it's release was poorly timed (overwatch and I think titanfall 2 came out at the same time)

The clutter... i can't.
Theres a big lack of what we call "Unity" in the UI design. The Health bar looks like a graphic straight out of TF2, the players at the top and on the left side look like Valorant, and the item icons on the bottom left dont fit either of them. Not to mention these characters and some of these elements dont look like they even belong in the same world as this game. The environment is so gray and washed out, its depressing and dull. Valve has done muted but colorful palettes with TF2, they should know how to make a darker and lowkey environment without killing the aesthetic. A friend told me the UI was stated as unfinished so heres to hoping thats true and theyre still working on it.
Otherwise it really is a slapdashed conglomerate of every game valve is trying to compete with.
It gets points for not being another isometric style MOBA with auto-attacks, but its still more MOBA than shooter and thats whats gonna kill it cause unless Valve wants to re-define what a MOBA can be, they'll never sway League addicts away from their stockholm syndrome. MOBA's are such a shit tier genre anyway, idk how anyone enjoys those dogshit games. The only interesting MOBAs i've played are the ones that break the mold and decide to do shit differently like Paragon and to a lesser extent, Smite.

hey remember when uncle dane leaked an early alpha build of this game and it used models from completely different IPs? this is also an alpha, that you need to get invited to. it's nowhere near as strict an invite list, since you can invite whoever you want, but it still has one
It should be obvious they spent more time on ganeplay than ui design for sure. The gameplay is solid when you get past the obvious balance issues. Itll be even better if they let folks try out a hero draft mode
i think their charachter design is a biiig Downgrade.
Talking as a Tf2 player the visual indicators are bad in this game. I hope they do update the models so they reflect team colour like in CS source 2 and TF 2.
Maybe they want that to be just like other MOBA'S and put a health bar over their heads but i don't like that.
