I love that Adriana was having a hard time. Obviously she's a gorgeous and well trained dancer - and even gorgeous and well trained dancers struggle! I have never been able to do triples. I feel like it has something to do with not being able to keep up my energy throughout the turn, but also something in my neck when spotting. My head just doesn't want to whip around after the second time for some reason... Loved this video!
I also often 'hop' with my standing leg. my teacher told me to focus at the barre to always maximum squeez my legs in the tenus, jetes, etc.. And that will build my muscels and then when I releve, to always maximum stretch my standing leg. always!! thinking of maximum streching that standing leg, and it will help not to hop and stay up in releve.
This was extremely helpful to me! As an adult male who started dancing ballet at an age where many have retired, I have missed out on a lot of the "basics", and this video was very informative on what i need to work on to get those reliable pirouettes. So thank you very much!
Make sure to take notice where you're not on balance. For instance, if you are falling to the right make a mental note to adjust balance to the left. And it's always good to go back and practice to balance in a releve passé.
same! i started dancing right after i turned 12 in august and now in december i’m getting my triples and did 5 fouettés that actually looked good! i’m so happy. my teacher really sees potential and stuff in me too.
I love how she didnt just perfectly do a triple pirouette. As someone who struggles with then it helps with the analysis - why isn't it working ? And how to fix it
I am so glad that I found this channel!! You teach where the lay person can understand. I've been to many dance classes and watch lots of videos about turns in dance, and I have never heard it explain in layman's terms like you do. I pray that God continues to bless you and this channel.
The dual pushing up & down made so much sense, another tip is to spot directly on eye level and then turn your head at the last minute, so that the momentum propels your spin around
I literally love her as a teacher . She really does know what shes doing but she is not all that like naggy and rude about it. Would love her to be my teacher
this really helped me with sorting out the placement in my quad pirouettes. i have my triples down but when i do a quad, i lean to the left. this was helpful & i no longer lean or travel in my quads! thank you so much =)
There is a triple turn variant that is very difficult, and usually done only by male ballet dancers--the "tour triple en l'air." It is also used in jazz dance as well as ballet.
For me it’s realllly weird, when I’m dancing to hype music in the bathroom and I’m happy and not even thinking, I can consistently pop out 4 or 5 pirouettes without trying. But when I try to really focus on turning in class I struggle with triples, and sometimes can barely even manage doubles! It’s the most frustrating thing - like the more I think the worse I do 🤨 I’ve got no clue why it happens, but I think it’s affecting the dancer in the vid as well. Something tells me that when the music is playing and she’s mid choreography, her turns are even more consistent and strong than they are here
Science is nice but ultimately technique is what gets results. The imagery and reminders about energy flow are also helpful of course but should be paired with actually technical corrections.
Anytime I try to turn, I have so much trouble keeping everything squeezed during the turn bc I focus on getting around and then ignore squeezing in but I don’t know how to fix it. I also don’t know how to feel strong on my feet bc I’m always wobbly
Alissa, keep working on it. Go back to practicing to balance in position, then add a single turn with spotting. And then work on doubles. Many times dancers will throw themselves back off their supporting leg when they transition from the preparation (wind up) to the first half turn. Remember; head over the shoulders, over the hips over the knee over the standing foot. Line everything up over your supporting leg.
I don't know if ur still struggling with this problem but if you are then try to after ur turn make a light plié with ur leg that stands on the ground en then you don't mess up the landing
The difference between turning on demi-pointe versus en pointe would be that when you're turning en pointe you have less friction but also a smaller base that your turning on. I would check to make sure that your preparation and ascent to pointe does not alter your alignment.
It takes a LOT LOT LOT of practice, haha. I started a month ago, and have been spending about 21 hours a week on turns alone, and ive probably done around 70 triples or so now. Generally i can do about 10 triples a session now, just depends on how long my sessions are
Adriana should just exercise passe in releve in a well coordinated way and keep her right hip down! She also always falls over to her standing leg. …. And you even did not recognized this! Sorry, not good enough and Adriana did not got help to do better….
they exist. she’s clearly well trained. i dare you to find a professional dancer that doesn’t struggle with something. whether it be feet, flexibility, turns, leaps, or strength, they all have struggles. we’re human. it’s not like just because your pro, you have to be perfect. please be nice

You might want to think about timing of spot. Try spotting a little bit faster on the 2nd turn.
omg she's so weird, but so great. i love her. i'm glad to see a teacher that knows her stuff but doesn't have a stick up her butt about it
Standing ovation! HaHaHa I agree. You get it.
Do you mind if I use your comment on my rpm-dance.com page?
haha sure go for it!
Rldijd
She s fabulous

I like the teacher. She knows her stuff and she she isn’t stuffy
The ballerina is so adorable! I’m having trouble with my triple as well

See these are the things I don’t get told at dance which effects me clearly bc I now have my triple thanks to this video!
It's easier to work your magic when you're not being watched. Adrianna is absolutely amazing and I love her vulnerability and smile!!!!!!
This was helpful, I’m really struggling to get a triple.
I go to this studio! Adriana is an amazing dancer, she once taught a tap class.
So cool!
can you please do an a le second turn tutorial?
The dual pushing up & down made so much sense, another tip is to spot directly on eye level and then turn your head at the last minute, so that the momentum propels your spin around
You Got it !! Yaaay !!

I literally love her as a teacher . She really does know what shes doing but she is not all that like naggy and rude about it. Would love her to be my teacher
well explained and above all respecting the capacity that develops in the dancer, helping him to grow. simple and well explained I love
This is amazing, the teacher is amazing :)
This really helped me especially with arm postitioning and feet placement 100% helped me
this really helped me with sorting out the placement in my quad pirouettes. i have my triples down but when i do a quad, i lean to the left. this was helpful & i no longer lean or travel in my quads! thank you so much =)

thank this was very helpful for my salsa dancing!!!
I got it - "l'epaulement" - as well as "le balance" - is very important in the "tours triples."
Yes and the Release of the breath/exhale before you turn creates the impetus to turn several times !!
love this i know how to do a triple turn now yay
Thank you for sharing your knowledge of dance on here❤️
Lovely like always. Thanks a lot. Your tips are so great.

Eu amo essa professora, muito delicada ao ensinar.
thank you i learned that trick with this video!!!!! 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍
Could you plz make a video about how to get your releve to be higher?
Anytime I try to turn, I have so much trouble keeping everything squeezed during the turn bc I focus on getting around and then ignore squeezing in but I don’t know how to fix it. I also don’t know how to feel strong on my feet bc I’m always wobbly
I am working on my turns in second, but turns aren’t my strongest point in dance. Any tips?

I can’t find my balance, I can’t really do turns. Like if I do it fast enough I can do 2. Do you have any tips for finding the center for my balance?
Zippers video !!
This video was made on my birthday
Omg I love you
Thank you !! Always here to help !!
A Adriana é perfeita. Acho ela uma excelente bailarina. Ela é show.
I would like to know which extra excercises I can do to master triple, i mean separated excises than the piruette in itself.
Juliana Borges it’s ALL about your technique, exercises will only marginally help.
Hi! I know how to do my triple turns but I always mess up the landing and lose my balance......any tips?
I don't know if ur still struggling with this problem but if you are then try to after ur turn make a light plié with ur leg that stands on the ground en then you don't mess up the landing
am i the only boy here? i already know how to do triple turns but this made me better in balance! thanks so much
No, there are many male dancers out there, you are not the only one 🤗
Simplesmente maravilhosas!!!
I can do 3 on flats but just 1 on pointes. What should I do?
