And his first drummer was 14. Steve's voice I just love listening to him. Love him so much. Always listen to him to this day. ❤❤

Steve said in an interview that he was ripped off financially by band manager Don Arden ( father of Sharon Osbourne ). He said that whilst the band was out touring abroad for months on time Don Arden was supposed to pay Steve`s tax bills from his share of the band`s money.Don Arden kept the money for himself and Steve went bankrupt losing everything.
Sorry Just to add that this show was Live Back in 1991 which makes it 17 years Old (almost to the day ) OK !!
Hi Carl Thanks for the Comment. Think your right Ben (keys) was using a D50. That band split years ago. Not seen Mr Ellis for years he goes out with the New Amen Corner, think there from South Wales or the West Country somewhere "lol" Re Original band none played on the records did they? Guitars were, Jimi Page & Big Jim Sulivan. Bass Herbie Flowers, Drums Clem Cattini, the top session Players of the Day. ( Love Affair were the Milli Vanilli of the late 60's early 70's )
Good job Steve has a good voice cos the sound isn't balanced very well on here...P45 for sound engineer, ha ha. Love this song and all the hits they had were brilliant. All the get up and dance songs: I still do but I was 14 when they came out and I'm 65. Fantastic era.
It was an awesome sound onstage and in the arena. Live TV recordings aren't the best . @@ampsnbits OK, fair enough comment. I have not heard the whole concert and was unaware it was available. I have only commented on this song, and I am not an untrained ear. I thank you for pointing this out. I have been in the arena for concerts and found the sound good. I may have a copy of One Road from one of the many live gigs we did that were recorded onto VHS. I do keep meening to copy them all over to add to the ones I have already uploaded But not to sure how good the quality is as they were done on hand held video recorders.. but will check them out soon ..Regards Mel

Nice one Mel im A keyboard player myself for many years i think its a d50 he is using are you still playing, some guys from my way now back Steve Ellis on some gigs i have always rated Steve as a good singer i saw the originalband many years ago and wasnt too impressed to be quite honest
Yes there may have been a hoard of keyboards surrounding Him But if you watch you will see he is only using one Keyboard which was the only keyboard he took to the Gig. All the other Keys were those of the other bands on the show !!! Think its a case of You can't see the wood for the keys !!!

@Tower of Power - You are most obviously 45 years too late with your info and out of touch and probably not long out of your nappies!!! As it was Well known in the music Industry in 1969 That the guitarists on the recordings were Jimi Page & Big Jim Sullivan, on Bass Herbie Flowers and on Drums Clem Cattini. So its is not a revelation today !! The Love Affair was a young band of inexperienced Musicians and to save Studio Time & Money Session Musicians were used. However a young Steve Ellis was brave enough to admit this to the world at the time but it is his vocals that you hear. No matter who was playing on the studio Recording or live. It was the original band members who played the live gigs with Ellis the front man! If you had been at any of the bands live gigs in the 60's you would realise that this live gig in 1991 is way in front. of the 60's efforts ! But without the London Philharmonic Orchestra & BIG band brass section The Lady Birds on backing vocals its and a multi Million pounds worth of recording equipment behind the band you are not going to replicate the original sound of the Original 1969 Recordings exactly!! So Steve performing live with the bare bones as he did in the 60's is how it was! So get real! Like the 20 odd Thousand people did in the Audience at this gig back in 1991 !!

I agree!,Is there a splinter Love Affair?. I went to see a band called The Love affair 20 years ago and they were crap. I'm sure Steve ellis wasn't in it.
Hi Mel the new Amen Corner are from Wolverhampton near to me they also go out as the Summer Of Love and Soul Survivors there are some vids on U Tube of the various bands and they also back Chris Farlow and Cliff Bennett mostly doing the festivals and Silver 60s shows they are also a good band in there own right
Don Arden was a bit of a gangster. I bet Steve doesn't receive any royalties for his records either. Shame, because they are never off the radio.
Can't help feeling that by watching this video, has spoilt what was a precious, memory of this great song, due to seeing the lead singer Steve dressed like a member of a street gang. I'm sure he performs this in much nicer attire in other videos....please 😕
