I always spray some glass cleaner on the rubber seal where it meets the body. I find it makes for an easier install and the glass cleaner evaporates leaving no mess.
Good video. I like the Desert Rose. I hated it in the sixties. We lived next door to the guy that owned the Ford dealership. Dad bought mom a 64 1/2 , red w red interior , 200-6 . I drove that car for a long time as a teen.
Hey, great video, I usually do a loop at top, and a loop from the bottom, then evenly pull to the middle, but you looked like you it under control. I like the pink.
Just amazing. For a one man operation doing the total restoration of these mustangs and what they look like when finished, Bravo...keep up the fantastic work...love every video and can't wait for the next one.
Great upload as usual mate, nice to see some progress on the Rose. Handy tip for installing glass, cut the tip off a silicone cartridge nozzle, thread rope through then drag nozzle backwards (with nozzle tip in the channel) It will feed the rope into place in seconds 👌✌
Thank you , great detail on pulling the string and setting the seal by pressing down on it. I am getting to the point to install my front glass and this was very timely.
Good video. Glad you showed the clips already installed in the body. I was in hurry once with my 68 Coupe and realized after installing the windshield that the clips have to go on first. Live and learn.
Makes me feel good seeing I use the same products, can’t beat Seymour Cast Blast, and Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black. Wow, I never thought of using Strip Caulk in the gaskets like that..Awesome way to do it, much cleaner than butyl in a tube.
It looks like three speeds are pretty common. The car I use to drag race originaly was a 69 Mach 1 351w 2bbl three speed. Slapped a 427 C6 in and off you go. No I unfortunately no longer have it. Miss it.
I assume you have a video of you pulling the trim and removing the glass? How you install and remove trim would be epic. Although you probably already have it somewhere. Thanks
Great job. Love the Desert Rose. Question regarding powder coating the coil springs: How does the powder coat hold up on such an application since the spring is a dynamic component.
I have been watching your videos for the last year. I am trying to get as much info and tips for doing the sheet metal on my 66 as possible. I'm not really looking forward to the Pandora's box that is lurking in my mustang, but i really want to save the old girl if i can. Thank you very much. (Question): Would coating the string in bee's wax help? Or would that possibly be a hindrance when trying to pull on the rope.
@@petersonrestorations Its such an odd colour, makes it even more special. I had a beige mushroom coloured GTR XU1 LJ Torana it was the only one I have ever seen.
Did you use a different IFS because the C6 MTF is sold out or ? I wound up buying my X member from a dude that fabs em up in Canada. Using Wilwood spindles with their Narrow 6R 13", ARCA series A arms and QA1s. Slightly less money than anyone else selling them as a kit. Love your work btw.
Sorry haven’t been following long. Pink? Playboy or that cosmetic company? Could you tell me the perch to perch center hole distance on the rear axle housing?
Is that a factory pink car, I know they had a Playboy pink that was given to the playmate of the year, and also a special order pink. I met a 19 year old kid that pick up a playboy car and he nor the seller knew what they had. The boys plans was to paint it black and I couldn't make him understand what he had, it was just a mustang to him
He explained it all in the vid quite clearly. The only thing he is doing differently is adding the rope caulk/seal before laying the window in. In the old days we used a tube of windshield sealer in the weatherstripping groove. This is not the butyl/ urethane sealer that you know of today that cures. This old stuff is gooey and never sets up hard. Then after the window is in you go back around the gap of the body to window and fill it up with more gooey stuff. Hopefully at this point you did not forget to install all the trim clips on their posts before filling the gap! Then you put the trim on and clean off the excess sealer with WD40.
@@loosecannon7105 no kidding LOL. What I was referring to is to run a bead of liquid butyl on the body, which is referred to the pinchweld first. Once the glass is in the gasket fits to tight to the clips to get enough sealer in afterwards.
I didn't think I would be into the pink car but it is really starting to grow on me.
Mike
it’s a great feeling when the glass finally goes in!
Just glad to finally be putting it together
That rope trick is absolutely ingenious. Great job!!
Glad your posting videos. With your talent, you can be a major force on RUclips in regard to subscribers. Thank you, love these builds.
Thanks I'm trying to get my stuff out there so we'll see!
You make this seem really easy i might even try it myself.
You secured a set of bias ply tires with pinstripe white walls!....Nice touch man....nice touch.
Thanks for sharing your skill-sets..

Thank you so much for this !
I'm excited to see it app put together 🙂
Immaculate. I love your idea of building it as an ex-factory example. Good wishes bro!
Is there nothing you cannot do Ben? Wow, that pink mustang is going to be stunning!
Dude. That is going to be a great car. Love the way u do the pull in glass. Same as I was taught. God your skills are unreal. Lovely video.
Smooth. Great work man.

Its sitting in storage right now for a while

Great job. Love the Desert Rose. Question regarding powder coating the coil springs: How does the powder coat hold up on such an application since the spring is a dynamic component.
Powder coating is a very flexible coating, actually the springs come powdercoated from the manufacturer
@@petersonrestorations Thank you for the response.

Not 100% sure of the name but I get it from cj pony parts

Who was one of the top sellers for Mary Kay in 1967 who previously owned this beauty?
This is a dusk rose car not a Mary kay car

Beautiful. I heard somewhere that the back windows on 67/68” fast backs hold 50 gallons of liquid. Just some useless information.
hey, where is the next video ?
Do you still have the 67 Playboy Pink coupe?
Is there a specific reason to install the glass before so much of the interior?
Doesn't harm anything in my opinion
Would you like 3 more mustang's from Georgia, 2 67's and a 68 ?
What engine came in the pink mustang?
Just had a video on that this week, 289

Can't quite see or understand how that string works
It just gets put in the weatherstrip grove that the glass would set in
Very nice, is this your wife’s car or customer?
It is my car, I have a playboy pink coupe to restore also

If I remember right, it was a actual special factory color for some odd reason. Been awhile since I watched that video where he explains it.

Good grief man, you didn't even bother to seal the pinch weld before you roped the glass in. It's definitely going to leak.
Glass seals are not pinch weld

@@RS-gh2mf watch and learn/ pinch weld is a plastic trim with a metal section inside it to grip an edge - nothing to do with glass
