    I am waiting for my ID.3 to be delivered. I am so glad I have discovered ABRP. I’ve been putting in various holiday destinations and surprised to see how little time a journey in an EV adds when you factor in lunch and toilet breaks that are required in an ICE car anyway.

      Exactly! Hope you enjoy the ID3, I originally pre ordered one then ended up with a tesla before getting the Škoda.

    Nice video, and great to hear "Skoda" pronounced right. Interesting that it wasn't obvious to the ID.3 owner how to use the charger. I also notice that you were comparing the Enyaq's sat nav's, and ABRP's, suggestions to your own knowledge. All shows the current public charging set-up needs improvement before "mass" usage can take off.

    • @enyaq_gorm
      @enyaq_gorm  2 года назад +1

      Thanks. To be fair they seemed to have applied for the ChargePlace Scotland card but had forgotten they'd done it (they said it just arrived in the post), they'd never asked the vw dealer what the We Charge card that came with the car was for. I suspect they maybe had been told but had never used it in the year they've had the car as they mainly charge at home. The public charging is good but needs to keep pace as ev ownership really takes off. I see lots being installed which is good. The enyaq sat nav is pretty dumb in terms of charging. I think it just aims for the closest charger at a certain level of charge. On a previous trip it insisted the best option was a 7 kW charger when driving 10 miles further would have taken me to a charging hub with multiple 50 kW chargers.

    Thank you for sharing this video with a useful information. I have just got a Skoda Enyaq a week ago (It is a great car). This is an electric car and I was expect a kind of expert navigation what can be used for looking a charging station (with a prefered network), find another closest one if that one is out of business or busy with other cars. The "android auto" also not that sophisticated. I have no idea why. It seems that the Skoda software developer never ever used this kind of function in a real life. Why do we (as owners of electric car) has to take a look around that kind of navigation solution what we might be can use during the trip from point A to point B?!

    • @enyaq_gorm

      I can have a look at that, but basically it's just pairing Bluetooth on the phone and the car. Pretty much it. Not sure what you mean by still having data, the phone works as normal but the display is on the car dash rather than the handset, Android auto is really just screen mirroring

    Is the skoda navigation good enough for trips that don't require charging? For us, the range now offered by EVs is so great that we'll only need to use public chargers on holiday when I'll be driving or am at least in the car. I'm quite comfortable with using apps and various bits of tech to monitor battery temp if required etc, but my wife would really not be happy to use anything but the built-in nav system. I guess what I'm really asking is, does it plan sensible routes for sub 100 mile journeys which is 99.9% of our motoring?

    • @enyaq_gorm
      @enyaq_gorm  2 года назад +1

      Yes it's fine for that. I'm just more used to Google maps. With wireless android auto that is easier to use as the voice commands on Google are faster than the car voice commands

    Hi Enyaq Gorm, What the mobile app like for these Skodas, I guess coming from a Tesla it wont be as good. I was wanting to know how do you set the car to warm up and chargge when you want to, is that via the app or the charger or both. I am on the list to get an IV60 at some point just wating on a confirmed lead time. Love your videos so far. really informative on real world use.

    • @enyaq_gorm
      @enyaq_gorm  2 года назад +1

      It's not far off the tesla one to be honest, the only thing you can't do is schedule a charge but I always use my zappi app for that anyway. Oh and you can't unlock it, flash the lights or honk the horn but I only ever did that for novelty. Works great for pre warming and scheduling departure etc. It was buggy for a while but the last update seems to have fixed the issue.
