Folks I think it would have made more sense to compare the shoe against Saucony Triumph 21 which had the same drop, similar geometry, upper material and of course the ETPU midsole.
Ultraboost 5X is probably intended more for runners without the heavy plastic midfoot cage, this one is really for casual wear. There is like 0.7oz difference in weight between the two versions. I agree there are cheaper options than what this shoe offers.
It's odd but I can't bring myself to do more than 10k in this model, it seems that there is some rubbing after a while. They look great and are great for walking but I'll be using them for recovery runs only even if they can be ok if you pick up the pace. I have1500km in my Boston 12 and for me they are a lot more versatile and a much better investment... too bad they are sold out these days o.O
This new 5X version is a totally different experience. It’s an actual running shoe. Overpriced but I find it good looking (in green and white) and comfortable to run in with good grip (slightly below the Boston’s Conti outsole but better than Saucony).
The lacing sytsem, mainly the plastic piece does NOT secure your foot evenly! Worst lacing of all brands! Adidas "Ultraboost", sadly, is designed for fashion and walking...Performance is VERY LACKING.

Compare it also against the New Balance 1080 v14 and the Mizuno Wave Sky 8 !
Haha Nick seems to really despise that orange color-way! I concur, I'd go with white-blue though. Nice inputs, guys!

Recently got the Adistar 3 and that is a great shoe for both lifestyle and running. Also cheaper.

How is the ultraboost 5X as an everyday lifestyle shoe?
I’ve been using them to the office myself and they are pretty damn comfortable and they look pretty good tbh, lol.
This will be a great buy during the inevitable 50% off sale...
It is better than the Peg 41 in terms of comfort and response
Pretty much everything is better in response than the Peg, comfort depends on what fit your foot better but both are really good on that
👍
Hmmm...i thought the Ultraboost was a lifestyle line.

They're so hard the boost is too firm
