Awesome video. I watched 2 other videos that took 10 minutes each and they didn’t explain it half as good as you.
Your video was so much better than the last eight I watched
Thanks for making it I think I understand now
😊 Thanks for making this.
Exactly what I was looking for.
All in the DETAILS.
best video on you tube on this adjustment by far... Thx....
Great video! My idle cable had a lot of slack, after adjusting now it’s on point. Thanks!
Good job on video. Clear and to the point.
Good advice for all riders.
Thanks for the video. I learned how to adjust cable thanks to you. Only issue I have now is when I turn to the right, the throttle doesn't snap back- when it's centered and to the left, it snaps back but for some reason to the right, it doesn't. Thanks.
+donmartin27 Your throttle cables are binding up when you turn right. Take a closer look and you will probably find the issue
Perfect video. Just bought a 2018 883 and wanted to tighten the idle cable a bit
I got a question not with adjusting but the idle cable and the throttle. Going into the grip and the bar housing . How loose should those be . I had bars put on last yr and idk them seem to flop around a lot . I don’t remember before how they was or if this was normal
Helped a lot! Good explanation
After seeing the video, I checked my cables. The throttle cable was to tight. I backed it off so the cam would just not touch the stop. I did run out of threads while trying to get the slack out of the other cable thou. Any ideas? Totally stock 05 Electra Glide Classic FLHTCI
Thank you.
Thank you!
Okay I need help. I have a 2015 dyna street Bob. And I recently changed my grips out and now my bike dies when it idle after earning up for a bit it will doesn’t a stop light or whatever if I don’t keep a bit of throttle on it will chug down and die. But there’s no way to adjust the idle ? Please please help me out could it be the idle cable because I had to completely loosen them to give as much slack as possible but now it’s having this idle issue
i just bought a 1997 FXDL very nice for $5000 and had it for 2 years and throttle cable broke from the fuel tank smash up against the frame pinching the cable where i could not see it,,, i look for that problem now on other bikes i work on now... on the new cable i adjusted it to tight and it broke so sad, but i got lucky i was right down the street from my house...
What are you do if you don’t have cruise and you have that connection on your cable
My issue is that after a long ride now my throttle won’t snap back....will adjusting these fix that?
You ever figure this out?
Maybe you have under your throttle a little sort of screw I had the same on my 02 Softail and then I figured out that’s old school cruise control what happens is if you tight that screw it holds the throttle in place at a speed you want and you need to turn the throttle back yourself and if you loose up that lil screw it just snaps back like normal
Thnx for bringing this valuable information...
💀
Thank you sir!
I'm running a whiskey throttle single cable and the throttle doesnt retract all the way,is it because it's a single cable?
Superior video! Only used to carb’s. Twin cam is reversed and I didn’t want to pull the whole air cleaner assembly off. Sick of flipping 1 page backwards one page forward one page backward in the service manual!? Hearing your click and being familiar mechanically. Job was a breeze! Just subscribed! I agree with most: Best throttle/idle adjustment video out here!
Is it important for it to make contact with the stop, mine doesn't, but it's close
Can you mess up the idle by adjusting the cable too much one way or the other?
Yes the idle can be affected with an improper adjustment of the cable. Too tight or too loose can affect how much slack is in the cable to properly get the throttle working like it should. As long as the steps in the order of the video are followed, you should be good to go. Thanks for watching!
Thank you
Question I bought a 2015 iron 883 I've done everything the videos say do...it still takes off before my feet get to the pegs and it's idled so high never wants to sit still at a stop sign...I won't even ride it anymore .every bike I've ever had gradually goes depending on the turn of the throttle ...this one just vroooom !! What else can I do to make it only go as the amount I give it or to turn it way down ? It hates being under third gear as well
Brandy did you figure out this issue??? I road my Street Bob for the first time yesterday and road it again today, mine is the same way!!! It starts off too quick and even idling in first gear is wayyy too fast. I will try adjusting the throttle and idle cables tomorrow, I pray this is the resolution. It’s nothing like the Suzuki large cruiser I had many years ago.
It is had to tell from the picture of this which cable is which just looks like 2 cables to me no point of reference
terrible video
