    Being an ol shovelhead carburetor guy I don't have such fancy features, lol. But I gotta say that your videos are done so well and informative , that I watch and learn , thank you from East Coast Canada.

    Now I understand the relationship between the roll off switch and the idle cable adjustment. I just used a new shop on my 2007 road glide. They tightened up all the cables and even put a half inch on my front brake lever, which I do not like. In any case, the cruise control became, as you say, "inoperable." In addition, my bike started stalling at idle. I loosened up the idle cable just one turn, and the cruise control works and the bike idles like it always has. Thanks. I though I was in for a lot of electronic diagnostic crap. Thank you.

    I've been dealing with this exact issue since 2017 when I had new SS braided cables/lines put on my 2005 Ultra Classic and have only been able to keep one spade connected for the cruise to work. I've had it looked at several times and not once was this extremely easy check never suggested or done that I know of but after testing it out myself, it makes so much sense. It's also so much easier to see this as a simple troubleshooting tip instead of deciphering the process as outlined in section 8.30 of the manual. I'm currently installing a different brand of SS braided cables/lines myself because the ones that were installed yellowed so quickly. I'll make sure it's not too tight this time! Thanks for a great video!

    Don't forget there's one other way to cancel CC. Just pull in the clutch lever. The engine wants to rev up which cancels the CC.

    After watching this video, I believe I understand what my issue is. But I'll ask you. If I set my cruise. It will hold it. If I throttle up, it'll continue to throttle up. I didn't try to roll back. In reality I never thought of it, especially since I was picking up speed quickly, and running out of road. But with that said, I'm assuming my cables are too tight?

    If your bike had a cruise control cable on it but not equipped is there any issue with a regular cable without that switch ?

    • @HillCountryCustomCycles
      @HillCountryCustomCycles  4 года назад

      +Wayne Stover not at all. Harley put that switch on there so you could add cruise later if you wanted to.
