Ball dust on the paddle. That was perfect. Thank you

I thought I was a hybrid paddle person but when I switched to the M2F wide body, my game came alive. I mean night and day difference at the net.
I bring plenty of power and the control from the wide body is just incredible.
I decided my backup paddle should be a wide body too.
The Spartus Apollo is pretty sick too and even faster at the net.
I highly recommend everyone test a friend’s wide body.

Great advice on how to pick the best shape for your game. One additional benefit I'd add to wide body paddles is that they are easier on chronic elbow or wrist pain such as tennis elbow. This is due to their low swing weight.

100% correct. My elbow pain is completely gone in a couple weeks and we play way more now since the weather is great now.

You’re spot on with the elongated shape for past tennis players. I’m only in the second month of playing pickleball, but the elongated paddles felt best in my hand and while swinging, especially backhand. (Plus switching from a racquet, I’ll take all the reach I can get in a paddle.)

Back the day, the "blade" was a shape. i.e. Gamma "PIN" & "NEEDLE" They were super narrow.
I play them all except the "oval" shape.

Excellent! If someone is serious about entering pickleball paddle selection typically is an evolution. I always recommend new or “emerging” players start with a standard shape. Wise experienced tennis players usually gravitate to standard shape after a few games but ultimately prefer elongated paddles after learning the game. Established players usually say a paddle is a paddle and typically make many games uncomfortable for me. LOL!😂

I started with standard and my first hybrid is the vatic pro flash. I kind of like that so I went with J2K pro after that. Base on the dust pattern, i think the hybrid will continue to work well for me. If someone has a elongated one for me to test out, I won't trying out.

If you want to level up your game you have to know your game first. I started with elongated shape. Recommend by someone that thought I was a power hitting tennis star. I discovered standard works best for pickleball. Faster hands at the kitchen and increased twist weight.

Really good stuff here, I'm new to the game and don't really have any pickleball stores around me... so I'm just going to have to guess, I'm 6'3 200, 35 years old... With my friends paddle I seem to be hitting the edge guard a lot so I think I might like wide body but being tall and wanting to play fast and slide and reach for balls makes me feel like I want an elongated one too... so I'm just confused lol hybrid maybe... best of both idk lol.

Hybrid is the way to go in your scenario if you find yourself going back and forth between elongated and widebody. Best of both worlds.
