I've been looking around for a realistic blood drink for a while now. I plan on making this and using it to fill these blood bags than randomly pull it out and drink out of it to freak people out.
This is wonderful! Thanks for the video. I run a Vampire LARP and plan to use this for all sorts of grusome scenes XD You've earned another fan, good sir.
Which size of gelatin packets were those? 3 oz.? I followed your recipe and it's close, but a little thin. Could be I didn't use enough of the 3rd packet... Also, it's as transparent as Kool-Aid would be normally. I'm going to try using Tropical Punch instead of cherry next time to see if I can't raise the opacity a bit.
I believe they where the 3oz. Might add just a little bit more. And great, I'd love to know how it turns out! I've never gotten around to experimenting with it any more.
Hmmm, I'm working on a scene where one character stirs a teacup of blood with his finger, which has blood clinging to it when he takes it out as a result. (Very specific, I know ;p) would that work with this substance? I also need to keep in mind that the scene will be quite dark. Do you think I should make the mixture more red to make sure people recognise it as blood?
Hi! sorry I am not sure what could be substituted for the koolaide. as for as the food coloring, a lot of recipes will call for blue coloring, but Ive found that green works better as the blue will mix with the red and give a purple hint. The green will darken it without changing the coloring.
I watched this video last Halloween and dressed up as a vampire queen at lunch time I took out my fake blood and drank it in front of everyone and with the realistic vampire teeth it looked like I was a real vampire LOL
Well, you can, and many blood recipes call for blue. However green is a favorite in my recipes, as it will darken the mix without tainting the color. Blue, will start to give a purple tint to the blood that I don't like.
Oh okay. I will use the green then. Yeah that makes a lot of since thank you and by the way I love your videos please make more how to's... I love them. And u explain them really well. Keep up the good work. :)
+Thea Lee Cool! You can try darkening it with food coloring maybe if you have it. It also does look a bit more translucent in person than it does on camera.
Acturally, its not real sweet at all. Thats the whole point acturally. Really, you just sweeten to taste. Unlike using strawberry quick syrup (as I know for a fact has been used in hollywood) for drinking blood, this is MUCH less sweet. Trust me, without adding extra sugar, it will be kinda bitter probably. The sugar in the jello is so diluted as to be non existant. This isn't any sweeter then an average gallon of cool-aide!
haha, yeah! I got the inspiration after reading an old interview with James Marsters from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. He talked about how sick it made him to drink the strawberry quick syrup they made him drink. LOL
I don't like showing outright any brand names, cuz it might effect being able to monetize my videos. Same way they will blur out or cover up any corporate logo or brand on TV shows that haven't specifically paid for product placement.
soontoberich99 Better safe then sorry. I like to try to keep my content within the same guidelines as television. So I avoid showing or endorsing brand names unless that brand is something that is specially needed for the project.

Oh the pranks I shall pull with this...
You sound like a vampire.
Thanks so much! This helped a lot!

+TheHauntedHat It might. You might make it just a little bit thicker though.
Although that might be a good idea, to make it thicker
Awesome! Thank you for sharing your recipe!
They don't sell koolaid where I live. What else could work? Also can I use blue colouring instead of green?

Its comments like these that make what I do all worth it HAHA! Thanks, glad it helped!!!!
So instead of water, use fruit juice as a substitute to make the blood more opaque than transparent (see through).
Would a container of fruit punch work too? Cause I can't find any kool aid packets
just awesome, gonna drink gallosn of this stuff. keep it up!
When i saw you put the packets of koolaid i thought "oh shit. now were gonna need like 5 tons of sugar to make up for that"
Haha, nah. Its not too bad. The jello helps make up for it also.
Can u use blue dye instead of green will that work better?

No prob, and thank you so much for the compliments, glad you enjoy them!!!
can I replace koolaid powder with red fruit juice? cuz I don't have one of those here in Malaysia
+Thea Lee Worth a shot! Try it out and lemme now how it works!
Welp. It works... But its slightly translucent than yours

TurtleDudeProd haha yeah i figured it'd be bitter or just overly flavour filled your head would explode if you didn't add sugar.
cheers for the video!

TurtleDudeProd lol i'd hate to try that O_o
im finna prank my crush, wish me luck😅😅
Why did you cover up the brand of the jell-o you used and the products that you showed at the end of the video no need to
I don't like showing outright any brand names, cuz it might effect being able to monetize my videos. Same way they will blur out or cover up any corporate logo or brand on TV shows that haven't specifically paid for product placement.
TurtleDudeProd well there are plenty of other videos on youtube that dont cover up brands but ok
