Sean Thompson I think you forgot from either season 1 or season 2a they mentioned that valentine experimented on his children like he injected Jonathan with demon blood while he was still in the womb of clary’s mom that’s how he’s got demon blood and that blood came from someone. You can connect the dots 😉. Same with Clary and Jace they’ve got more angel blood in them than most shadowhunters hence the added abilities. The journals he kept on Jace and Jonathan was Valentine’s way of monitoring his experiment.

I love how you keep saying to take a blood test, and honestly you have a point. In the show shadowhunters have very high tech and full on labs and shit, in the books it wouldn't make sense to take a blood test because shadowhunters are so out of the loop when it comes to mundane tech and medicine , and i'm pretty sure they don't have their own science labs in the institute. So yeah they tried using that element of surprise from the books when it just doesn't work with how shadowhunters are portrayed in the show
Max died in the books actually.. And Jocelyn didn't, so they kinda switched it up.
So happy to see this!! Missed the 2x18 reaction to the Malec flashbacks though.
And the incest thing? It's a serious theme throughout all of Judith's books, the show thankfully took a lot of it out. It's way more disgusting in the books.

Cassandra Clare has written/co-written 21 books so far. Incest is a theme in six of them. In 2 of those, the incest isn't actually incest. In 4 of them, the incest is one-sided from a villain who literally tries to rape his sister.
So no, it's not a theme in all of her books.
but that's just between jace, clary, and Jonathon. None of her other books have incest in them - i don't see how it's a theme, it's just in this series. I know a lot of people hate it and all but you made it sound way worse than it is haha
personally, the only 'incest' looking back that was actually kinda gross was between jace and clary, but they weren't even related in the end so it's not that deep to me

I honestly found it so funny when you were speaking about the incest... Like it's sort of bad in the movies but in the books it's soooo much worse because you get to know what they're both thinking. Also if I remember correctly they kiss even after they find out that they're related. Honestly it was soooo weird.... Also the main cast is a few years older in the show, because Alec is only 18 in the books, Have is 17 and Izzy and Clary and Simon are all 16

the movie is awful 😂 the tv show is wayyyy better. the only reason most people don’t like the tv show is because it’s a lot different than the books. but the books have a lot of stuff that wasn’t so good and the tv show changed that.

The series can and should be loved as an entirely different thing, because that's what it is. Don't know how much have you wached but in this case the further the better. This show is worth watching at least for the 3b and series finale.

Look at it as a parallel universe with your favorite characters. I kinda like that we had all those unexpected plot twists. It was much more interesting to watch, when you didn't know what's commins next. And it's more interesting for people who haven't read the book to read them after the series cause they will have another unexpected plot twists :))

I don't really like Jamie Metcalfe Campbell's appearance, and Alec in the movie was not the eldest, the leader, but was little resentful puppy who runs after Jace.. Daddario played his much more better IMO and lets be honest, he looks gorgeous...)) So yeh, movie was not for me... but seeeries. It got me. Completely x)

Catherine Reeves To each their own. I read the entire series and loved it. Saw the movie and felt it fell short - but hardly *terrible* as people said. But the series? It deviates far too much from the books and makes Clary wholly intolerable. She was a badass in the books. Can’t stand her in the series. Jace is also incredibly off character-wise. Pile it all together, I just find the series a complete miss. It’s sad, I wanted to love it too. I mean, they couldn’t even get the main protagonists hair color right lol
