We had the same issue two times with our Crossland X, 2020, 1.2 130LE (petrol) Turbo. We removed the battery connector for like 10 secs, after that the engine fault prompt didn't reappear. Before and after the fault prompt we didn't experience any mechanical issues while driving. We took it for a checkup, but they didn't find any structural fault. I have a feeling that in most cases this can be software issue as well, the mechanics confirmed the same. But during the time of the last annual checkup last year there was no software update, so they just basically logged the issue, and sent the data back to the factory for further investigation. Unfortunately most modern cars suffer from the same curse from time to time due to all of them are controlled by xyz software, and as we all know, softwares always have errors which can result in faulty feedbacks.
in my opel crossland the issue did not re-appear after some days/engine starts - and it seems the issue was just due to this: ruclips.net/video/Ds25X2hB8P4/видео.html
Yea , i would like to advise 1st dont go to any garage they will scare you like ( oil pump need to be change or engine). Its only cost me around £150 , you need to clean engine with cleaner then fill up with oil and keep your engine oil gauge full .
If it’s the 1.2 puretech engine it could be the wet cam belt it runs inside the engine it’s a ridiculous idea as the oil actually rots the rubber belt bits fall off it blocking the oil intake strainer and other oil ways in the engine look at your belt through the oil filler hole if it looks like it has small cracks or crazing get it changed my Crossland has this dodgy belt I’ve only had it a month it’s back to dealership Friday and I want it changed under warranty , wish I had never bought it
Might be too late for reply. That is timing belt rotting inside engine. Debris blocking oil pickup in sump. Time for wet belt change and oil pickup lines cleanup.
