Really? I've got several parcels and a few cut stones of peridot and none of them have ever glowed under short or long wave UV.... Is it because they are from this specific area? Because my crystals are from international buyers. Thank you mate

I live in Michigan, in America; and found a rather large peridot specimen on the river bank while prospecting. I brought it to a jeweler who thought that it was peridot, which surprised him that I found it here. This is the first specimen found in this state. Would like to send pictures to you if possible to see what you think about it, it is much larger than the ones in your video. Great video, thank you.
When you make a video about how to find precious gems, but then everybody in the Steven Universe fandom comes and makes witty references to the show that you may or may not get.

Thanks to this vid, my husband and I visited the quarry today with our 3 children amd had a fantastic time and found some beautiful peridot bombs 😍
I love watching you prospecting. I would love to try it myself. Australia seems to have everything. Throughout the U.S. there are different mines open to the public but they are spread out and a good distance from me. It looks like fun.
Just leave some Doritos and Mountain Dew for peridot and that's how us find peridot, ITS QUICK AND EASY! :D

Yeah, alot of 10 year olds think this has something to do with Steven Universe. They dont know that peridot, and other gems exist. Such as bismuth, aquarine, jasper, and peridot excist.

I found this because of a cartoon (which is what all this stuff about box traps and Doritos is about, incidentally), but this is pretty fascinating.

Australia is a big country with lots of places where one can find good gemstones. First, may I suggest you google fossicking for gemstones in Australia and you'll find a lot of open to the public places where anyone can go and still find a lot of good gems. You'll just have to decide which "State" you'd want to visit first and from there, find the names of towns and research what gems can be found at that specific place. Many beaches on the shores of Hawaii have Olivine crystals in the sand. In fact, down at South Point on the big island of Hawaii, there's a green sand beach that is almost nothing but Olivine. On Kaui, almost all of the northern beaches have Olivine in the sand!
The value of the stones vary from it's size. What I consider "Bigger Ones" are from 5 carats upwards when faceted. If I factor in the 4 C's, then the value can range upwards of $60/carat.

If you're referring to the Quarry Boys pushing the rocks, yes. This is beneficial for the economy for the whole town to have tourist come and prospect for free. This way they spend their money on accommodation, fuel, food, etc.

Coming here next week, it is so fascinating how each crystal just falls out of the rocks! Once, about 150km from the site, I was looking through a random pile of rocks on the road and found some very nice olivine crystals. I bet they came from this quarry.

I had thought of selling some of these in the future for "Fun value". Recently, someone told me that one can't send any unprocessed rocks to the States. Something to do with quarantine. Only cut stones or cabochons are allowed. Don't know if that's the case.
