Really cool video Hashem and some cool street photos. Definitely those typical crushed blacks with the StreetPan which to me is certainly an acquired taste. It does seem to work really well with dramatic light as you’ve shown. Thanks for the shoutout at the end 🙏🏽
Hey Hash really liked seeing you back on the streets going at it. The JCH really came out great how you exposed it. And as for Superia Premium, while I like Ultramax more, Superia Premium is starting to grow on me. Especially after finding out actually Superia Extra and Premium render skin tones very differently. Premium is much better.. it's a shame now that the prices raised here I wasnt able to buy more while it was dirt cheap. The 3 packs used to cost only ¥2000. Now a single 36exp roll is going for ¥1200. Tell you what though man, if I run into a good deal I'll get some and we can do a film swap in the future. ;)
I know!! I remember when there was a Bic/Yodobashi discount, as well as tax free it was even less! Gone are those days.. lets see how long they keep doing single packs 😥 Tell you what else, that's a deal!
Awesome results with Superia Premium 400! One of my favs as well. My local lab doesn't seem to handle it very well though, often coming out with really heavy magenta casts in the highlights/mids.
Great video man! I particularly like that photo you got at 2:07! Also, that superia premium 400 is interesting! Is it still in production? Time to do some research!
Great video. Awesome shots. I just ordered a roll of Streetpan 400 today for my MA. I am guessing you were using either 28mm or 35, zone focus at 1/500 for color shots. You mentioned for Streetpan, you were going to rate it at 250(1/250) Help me here Later in day More shadows, 400 iso, shot at 250 second With shadows, low light, but still trying to zone successfully F8? Can you expand on your thought process here. I know with MA, it’s wide open, with no ISO, which is why I went for the A, instead of P, I really wanted to be totally manual, and understanding your thought process will really build my knowledge. Also x100v owner and Leica M My kids (grown) think I am nuts Also plenty of Nikons I am nuts But I love it. Cheers from the streets of San Francisco.
I have never successfully used high contrast films. I'm not a super fan of high contrast scenes. However, I thought these films might be useful for flat scenes so that the grey in the shadow darken and the grey in the highlights lighten. But, I just get blocked up shadows and washed out highlights. Just can't deal with those films. Interesting to see your use.
@@AManWhoWasntThere Preference. I used an M4 for years and got used to that style lever. And it just so happened that the person I bought this from had swapped it to this style. I still have the original one set aside though.
3:00 is very nice. Just grabbed the zine too, forgot to get it earlier.
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it :-)
Really nice POV and photos. So true on the lighting and Sydney, it's so good. I do love Sydney.
Thanks James! Yeah it's a bit special around the city there

Great to see you and the Sydney shots Hash! Street shooters in the know celebrate winter solstice over here for great light.. for your next trip :)
For sure! thanks again man, haha yeah I'll keep that in mind!
I love the streetwalj videos. Just purchased your book, I am so excited 😊
Thanks so much Anna! I appreciate the continued support. I will get the zine in the post soon and send you an email :-)
I haven’t tries both films yet, but keen to try superia premium as a fan of fujifilm. Thanks for the video and nice to meet you again!
No probs! I got my rolls from decisive moment, they might still have it. Yeah it was great to meet! You gonna have a new video coming soon?
@@pushingfilm oh yes.. supposed to have that comparison video but delayed.. but will come up with other one..
I continue to be amazed by the look of JCH film and surprisingly I have yet to shoot the rolls I bought. I'm gonna go shoot now!
Definitely try it! it's something special :-)

Yeah it can be like that especially though Frontier scanners! I've heard it was optimised for cherry blossoms and such :-D
@@pushingfilm I can see that. I do love the reds and greens Fuji consumer stock produces, lovely stuff.

Thanks! It kinda, maybe, is? as far is Fuji has us thinking... but you never know with them and film stocks 😅

But I love it. Cheers from the streets of San Francisco.
and sadly its still raining here....barely been able to get through any film stock.
Great video Hash. What aperture do you normally use when zone focusing?
Thanks! I typically use f8-11. But, will sometimes go lower or higher as necessary

Why does your Leica M-A have an M4 style film advance lever?
It was swapped
@@pushingfilm a repair? Or because you prefer it this way?

@@pushingfilm I'm used to it as well from my M4-P but I'm always intrigued by the look of the M3 style one...
@@AManWhoWasntThere haha yeah I do think that the classic one looks nicer
