Love this handmade theater. Thank you for sharing. The outlaw amps, if you drop one channel they are independent in the chassis, and you can repair just the one without losing the others. One of mine had a blown fuse on a single channel and was able to repair it. They are very affordable.
Very impressive. This concept for my forthcoming new build HT in my basement may replicate this concept for speaker design per behind the screen design. Huge bang for buck going DIY for certain. I bet this sounds great! Nice job!
Wow, i watched every second. I really wished his screen could go up to show off the speakers. But, man, this set up is AWEsome. It's nice to see some1 using the same Crown amps i'm using. But i think he would love a direct processor instead of a AVR. Trust me once i went processor i'll Never go back to a AVR no matter how good they are. And this room is All DIY. His panels are AWEsome as well. All handmade, just Incredible...This proves and like i prove no room is too small for Big Movie sound...I still can't believe them 24's lol - Stay Safe, Be Safe!!!

My rack looks similar to Charles'. One of the huge selling points for me on the Crown XLS Drivecore 2's is that they are class D, and extremely efficient with power. I have (7) Crown 1502's, (4) 2502's, (1) 1002, an Epson Projector, my Prepro all running on a single dedicated 15 amp circuit. I rarely pull more than 7 amp. That said I do have extra circuits ran, but haven't seen any reason to need them.
Hey Charles, do you sell wall Mounted posters that you build? Would you be able to build more? Love the Avengers and Batman you did. Incredible. Thanks
Yes I have several products in for review now. I just had to get through the sponsored home theater tours that I had lined up as they help pay the bills much more than product reviews.
Sweet room and review. I actually have some prints to make movie poster acoustic panels. I love the outer border he has on his. I love that custom look on them. Did he make those himself or did he get them made?
Awsome video, it would be so nice if you had a separate channel that was not monetized so we could hear and see these rooms perform, I know we would not hear or feel the actual greatness but it would just add to the mystery
I appreciate the suggestion but I personally still do not see the value it would bring. I would be recording let’s say a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos surround system on a mono lapel microphone, to only then upload to RUclips which compresses the audio and to have the vast majority of my viewers watch the video on their cell phone.
@@Youthman understand that exactly but its also the visuals that go along with it your reactions facial expressions and things add to the experience most of us will never see or hear, I do watch on my cell but its only to see if I'm really interested in going to my man cave and watching and listening to it on my 100 inch vava ust with sonos and sub, still working on that room or my family room 7.1 onkyo system that I would move to have in my man cave but I like the differences i get from both. I am a drummer and watch lots of live music performances and concerts filmed on you tube and while I know being there would be even more awsome it helps . Was just a suggestion ill keep supporting anyway cause the content is 👍 👌 great
So there is no screen shake with those speakers behind that? My SI screen does not like my sub behind it. I can see the screen shimmering on the low notes. I love great SPL. If the subs can do wonderfully with 20% of the power, does this mean, you could actually remove or use smaller subs to achieve the same thing? Would love to see the plans on that behind the couch sub frame!
Got me thinking into turning my garage into a home theater 🤔. This was an impressive HT wow. Probably too much sun for me but I’m sure it was fun. Hey Mike sorry premiere did that to you and exported your video without the warp stabilizer. Happens to me all the time
It’s all good. After 12 hours of editing, the last thing I really wanted to do was to watch through the entire one hour video knowing I was going to watch it again the following day during the Premier lol
Mike I messaged On Linus's recent video where he made his own home theatre to invite you over so you can review it. Hopefully he does one day, would be a cool collaboration .
@@Youthman Agreed. One question though Mike. Lets say you were doing a new build and wanted to DIY a bit or get a buddy to help diy to save some cash. Would you do an array of 18 inch subs like the dayton or something similar? Like for the price of 1 HS24 you could buy about 5-7x 18s. I wanted the HS24 (dual) but now im thinking its going to be more cost effective and probably get similar performance with an array of 18s.
Great question. I am not familiar enough with DIY options to know how they perform compared to each other. Subs like Stereo Integrity and JTR are what I consider end game subwoofers. You never have to worry about having upgraditis or having the “what if” syndrome. A lot of guys use the Dayton Ultimax 18, but it’s rated to 19Hz. Stereo Integrity and JTR will easily reach single digits with insane authority. Buy once, cry once.
I do not have any plans to change my front soundstage and subs. I’m flat down to 5Hz with more output than my room or my ears can handle. Besides, I do not have the room for 24” woofers.
@@charleskeen31 great to know ....the reason i asked is, we are keeping a very near field sub behind our seat for tactile feel. By same logic the screen may also vibrate. .....glad that you are not facing such proble 😊😊😊👍
I’m familiar with Krix and with Tony’s setup. They look cool but I’ve never heard them personally. Klipsch and a few other brands also make a wall of sound as well in their Cinema Series. The turn off for me is Krix subwoofers have a frequency response only down to 25Hz. That’s not ideal for Home Theater. You want something that can go down to at least 20Hz. Klipsch’s wall of sound is rated down to 16Hz which is good. Charle’s Stereo Integrity 24’s will hit single digits. No comparison between them and Krix or Klipsch wall of sound.
By the time you have soundproofed walls how much space is taken thickness from existing to added soundproofing. Also how much depth of ceiling is required thanks. I have viewed loads of RUclipsrs videos and no one tells you this information
For soundproofing, you need to glue additional layers of drywall to the walls with Green Glue sound proofing glue. That will help some. But for proper sound proofing, you need to decouple the room from the house. This is done during construction by building a room within the room, staggered studs or clips and channels. A google search will explain the three processes. Adding insulation to an existing wall, or making the wall thicker for more insulation will not result in sound isolation. Insulation can help a bit with reverberation, but is really only good for thermal insulation.
They played together nicely. The subwoofer channel was crossed over with the mains by the Marantz at 80Hz. The 21s and 24s were crossed over by the MINIDSP at around 45Hz. This allowed the 21s to handle everything from 45Hz up, and the 24s handled everything from 45Hz down.
The DIY JL clone is something I'd pay good money for....if I could get one that holds two 12"s and is 4 cubic ft at 28Hz EDIT: Those Stereo Integrity amplifiers are gorgeous. I sold my gen 1 DC Audio amplifiers so I'd have an excuse to buy myself the 4-channel & the small monoblock...
Awesome video! Definitely inspired me to DIY some things in my own theater. Curious, is it not common to use pro-audio amps in your HT? What makes the HT power amps different than pro audio? Thanks!
HT amps usually have a few more options for convenience. Auto on/off, clean front panels, quiet fans or no fans at all. PA amps are meant to be bare bones, power only and portable. They also have balanced inputs to help clean up long cable runs and options for linking multiple amps.
Three clips didn’t. In the past, I rarely use warp stabilizer but for this video I tried to use it on several clips but apparently a few of them never rendered and I did not watch the video all the way through before uploading since I have been editing for two days straight lol
Did I miss something. We never saw the system running. I wanted to see the projector on and what the screen looked like with the spandex. I have a 120” Silver Ticket screen but when I build out our dedicated theater I want to go ultra wide and I’d like to just build it all.
After a 4hr drive and several hours of filming, I didn’t think about capturing a short video clip of the screen on. My bad. There are lots of great DIY options from spandex to Carl’s place. I went with Seymour Center Stage XD and love it.
I spent 12 hours editing the video and chose not to watch through the entire video after editing. So my editing software adobe premiere Did not finish rendering the warp stabilizer to smooth out those sections of the video.
Thanks guys, he did said that it's true. I didn't know that a router could be something other than the pc networking thing (I speak French) so I didn't understood. I'll have a look at that, thanks again!
After getting up at 6am, making a 4hr drive and filming an hours worth of footage over a 3-4 hour period, I didn’t think about capturing a short clip of the video. I don’t do audio demos as they are useless to try and capture a 7.1.4 system on a mono microphone that is compressed by RUclips for most viewers to then watch on their cell phone.
@@charleskeen31 that would be amazing. I'd like to try to make one. Don't think I'm at your level of workmanship. My jaw dropped as soon as I saw this video. Incredible job!!!

EDIT: Those Stereo Integrity amplifiers are gorgeous. I sold my gen 1 DC Audio amplifiers so I'd have an excuse to buy myself the 4-channel & the small monoblock...
Looks like humongous, love from India
Indeed they are
Awesome video!
Please tell me the salt spray rating on that 24" in the car. That wouldn’t last 8 months in chicago lol.
Great job
30:42 looks like a clip didn't get stabilized haha
Three clips didn’t. In the past, I rarely use warp stabilizer but for this video I tried to use it on several clips but apparently a few of them never rendered and I did not watch the video all the way through before uploading since I have been editing for two days straight lol
@@Youthman lol no worries the video is an hour long 😅 clearly you've spent enough time
Not to mention the 8hr round trip. 🤣
@@Youthman I’d like to chat sometime. I’m sure you as busy as I am but maybe down the road.
Feel free to email me at info@hometheatertours.com
I am from india love theater sound system
What’s with the “click analyze to begin” at 26:06 ?
I spent 12 hours editing the video and chose not to watch through the entire video after editing. So my editing software adobe premiere Did not finish rendering the warp stabilizer to smooth out those sections of the video.
I'd like to understand how he dug his cables path in the drywall... Any idea? What tools to use?
He mentioned in the video he used a Router
A DeWalt trim router with a 1/4" bit.
Thanks guys, he did said that it's true. I didn't know that a router could be something other than the pc networking thing (I speak French) so I didn't understood. I'll have a look at that, thanks again!
It’s certainly a cool idea that I had never seen done before.
Do you have any film of the sound in the car?
No due to copyright. Plus the SPL would distort any mic
How come no demo footage? 👀
How far from the screen do the chairs sit?
Just under 10 feet
That’s so cool ask him sell me a acoustic panels 😁
would Charels be willing to share the cnc files for the gotham clone?
Look me up on AVS "Tarponater" and I'll post the file on the build thread.
@@charleskeen31 that would be amazing. I'd like to try to make one. Don't think I'm at your level of workmanship. My jaw dropped as soon as I saw this video. Incredible job!!!
Most pretty perfect bro ❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍👍
